As a modern neurofunk and jump up lover, I must admit that this is pretty sick!!! Love the melody and the vibe. I would never tell that John B is such a badass!
Hristiyan Dimitrov You new school kids really need to search the past. You'd be surprised how much stuff from '96 to 2004 really stands up to certain gems produced today. For me this piece is a production marvel but falls flat on the vibe. Check out John B:. Up All Night on Metalheadz.
John got that Secrets two step sample out...(-: this is Drum & Bass and how it should sound. I missed the feeling of - how the hell was this produced...thanks John B
IMO there are only a handful of individual producers that stand with John B in D&B history. Guys like Fresh, Dillinja, D Kay, Break, Dylan...as I listen to this...can't think of many more in his league!
Well I feel for you, If you really do judge every DnB record by A/Bing it to anything by Noisa you are going to have a very limited range. I also feel its quite an immature comment as well. I was into DnB way before Noisia came onto the scene and I certainly don't need to A/B anything to their music to decide wether I like it or not, or more to the point wether the bass sounds good, my ears tell me this perfectly well thanks. Peace
+Ryan Bowkett A/Bing it with noisia was just a confirmation of what my ears were hearing; namely, a shit low end on this tune. What can I say? I like excellent quality music over cobbled together and lazily produced stuff. If it were some unknown producer on a small label then I wouldn't raise an eyebrow, but this is John B, on Metalheadz. There's no excuse. If you are listening on KRKs then fair enough; they over hype the low end so you're not actually hearing the true picture anyway.
Well I'm listening on KRK VXT 6 which absolutely do not over hype the low end. But to me it sounds Phatt and perfectly fine. As for lazy production I'm more into a tune that has heart soul and feel, and to me the DnB of late is more about over producing and getting every single detail perfect that it actually distracts from the original feel of a track. I would rather hear something that is put together quickly while still retaining the original idea, than hearing something that has been layered a million times over the course of 10 months where the original idea has been lost in translation. But still there is no shoddy production in this tune, to me its a nod to the original roots of DnB where samples WERE thrown together resulting in an interesting track that usually stands the test of time. Can you give an example of where in this tune you hear shoddiness??
WAIT FOR THE SECOND DROP!!! :-)

Much respect for this one. Time and effort from a class act equals this.
