For years I've been saying that the big three that is ABC, CBS & NBC made a great mistake when they took Saturday mornings away from the kids.

This Marks the first time that there's an over the air television network aimed at children since Qubo shut down in 2021.

MeTV Toons is actually aimed at adults. It is, however, the first cartoon channel/block to be aimed at adults since Adult Swim, I think.

@JulesHinmon I mean children can still watch it. It just that it only airs older/nostalgic cartoons.

I have to say. Bringing back a 24 hour cartoon channel. It’s a great idea. You can’t go wrong with the classics. It’s time to get back to a simpler time even when the Cartoon Network was really good. Period. And I sure hope that they do bring Saturday morning blocks back. On certain channels or stations. Like this new classic cartoon channel is definitely going to be big. With me in a variety. It will be almost as if reviving the Cartoon Network. Can’t wait to see how it’s gonna turn out. But like you said in the video, I agree. It wouldn’t surprise me if those stations do the same thing. But that’s OK cause that’s what we need. Sorry if this comments a little extremely long, I have a lot to say about something like this. We have been needing this for a while.

This may be similar to what Disney did back in 1998 with Toon Disney but this time it’s Hanna Barbera and Warner Brothers doing it.

The astronomical ratings and viewership of MeTV's Saturday morning cartoon block got CBS' attention, 3 years ago and it allowed its deal with Litton to expire, last year. Case and point, CBS, in regards to the CTA of 1990, which needs to be reformed, plans to return to SatAM cartoon programming. ABC and NBC will eventually follow suit- Fox is out of it, entirely and the CW will likely continue its Litton deal. In its return to SatAM programming, CBS will receive programming assistance from Paramount+ and Nickelodeon. When ABC and NBC begin to follow suit, ABC gets programming assistance from Disney+ and Disney Channel, while NBC gets programming assistance from Peacock and Universal Kids. Saturday morning cartoons on CBS, ABC and NBC will get a rebirth in the 21st century and all 3 can thanks MeTV for this. For the kids of this generation, this needs to happen!!!

Saturday Mornings Cartoons shouldnt have eveer been taken off the air in the first place. Some people dont have cable. I was one of those kids. But thank goodness for OTA television i was able to enjoy the Big 3s Saturday morning cartoon blocks. An when Saturday was over id tune in to PBS for their educational cartoons an shows as the school week started back up. This was early 80s, 90s an up until they took them off the air for the Educational an Informative (E&I) shows.

I also saw the Nelvana Beetlejuice and the 90s Rob Paulsen "The Mask: Animated Series" there, too.
It would be interesting to see other Fox Kids shows like Pirates Of Dark Water, which began as one of the earliest Fox Kids shows before moving to ABC, then moved to syndication on The Funtastic World of Hanna-Barbera syndicated block, and eventualy reran on CN and Boomerang.

Well that's great...maybe I'd feel a little bit better if we still had MeTV here in Rhode Island. We lost our MeTV affiliate a couple of years ago and it was replaced with an all action shows station called Charge! If MeTV and MeTV Toons come to RI, then maybe I'll get excited. Otherwise...

it may be on an affiliate station

@@bwrosas No, it's not in RI at all. MeTV was formerly owned by Sinclair, which also was the parent company of our local NBC affiliate, WJAR (Channel 10.1 digital). We haven't had MeTV since they brought in Charge! It's something a lot of local viewers were upset about because no one ever asked for that channel. MeTV was locally 10.2 digitally. Even cable and satellite viewers don't have access to it here.

well, if you have something like Sling, it sounds like it be on there, and some other streaming ad-supported services.

@@bwrosas I'll look into Sling. I have only an antenna for my TV now so I only get local RI TV stations. Thanks man!
