So 5 minutes 30 seconds to top, huh always wanted to time that thing in my 20 years skiing here~ Regardless LOL @ 0:16 the old head snapping blue chair...gotta love ole' Blue!
Oh thats the green quad. It was closed when i was at searchmont. But i do have photos of it (plus my dad got some photos too) so i plan to make a photo tour of that lift in the future. I do plan to get it the next time i go to searchmont.
Apparently searchmont is installing two skytrac lifts for the 2020/2021 season. I know one of them is for the west mtn expansion, but the other one could either replace the blue double (due to age) or the green quad (since it always breaks down). I'm hoping its the quad that gets replaced.
@@julianhudson7811 I was looking at Skytrac's website and it appears that the Green Quad looks oddly similar to a Skytrac lift? So is your info correct about 2 new lifts at Searchmont? What's the west expansion your talking about? West of where, the Bush trail area (Moose Difficult run) or over on the other side of the Main (Triple Chair). This skiing was absolutely phenomenal this year 19/20 season. There was an abundance of snow, ALL lifts (yes the Green Quad) was fully running and the hill was manicured! I've never got to experience the Quad and all the acreage over on the side in all my years and I will say it was beyond my wildest hopes! That side of the mountain is a hidden gem, the runs range from fast and wild to some very fast steeps here and there then you blast through some glades if ya want down below or just go for the long carve through Wolf's Head! I was on a cloud this season till Covid-19 hit in March...then the world STOPPED!
I used to have a smoke going up this lift...good memories

Cool lift! It seems to have Partek chairs.
You're right about that.
It's a sketchy lift tho. One of the poles are basically ready to fall apart.
This chair has been in service since I was oh about 10 years old...in my 50's now lol...
Partek chairs. Partek is basically the successor to Borvig.
The day the video was published (as seen above), it was my fathers 39th birthday.
What's the line speed on this one?
480 fpm
I’ve been on a 590 fpm lift.
Now this is what we call a butt-whacker chair. What's that Doppelmayr quad at the top that was closed during this recording?
