Did any of y'all fix your screens my screen is cracked really bad right now LOL
Wish I had those plastic cards vs. the install kit I bought but with enough heat and swearing at my phone, this method worked! new screen is on and phone is working again. The kit I bought came with hex and philips not the star bit. Once I got the star bit at the hardware store, I was able to release the clamp and pull the little wire curcuits off and then reinstall new screen. I had a corner shatter so it was hard to pull that end up so I saved it for last as I heated and wedged up screen. Thanks for sharing this repair guide.

My screen's adhesive doesn't get loose. I have tried with 125 Celsius temperature (I know it is higher than recommended), and tried heating for 3 minutes. I am using an SMD station for heating. What should I do?

Okay. I assembled my tools and was ready to go. I couldn't find a heat gun like the one featured in the video so I used my wife's hair dryer instead. I set it to the highest heat figuring hotter was better than anything else. I tried twice to heat the end with the finger print sensor. First time under heat was one minute. No movement with the suction cup. I tried running it two minutes but this time, the suction cup softened and the screen still didn't budge. If I heat the screen for more than two minutes and still doesn't budge, then what do I do? Taking it to a cell repair business is out of the question. The cost to repair rivals the price of a new phone.
If your LCD screen is broken, you can use a hobby knife and suction cup to makes a slit after heating. Than use the card to fixation the slit.
Wit Rigs - I tried to heat my screen with a hair dryer. I let it run four minutes on the highest heat setting. It made the phone casing and lcd untouchable without gloves. Even with gloves, the light duty suction cup rubber becomes so soft, after pulling for a couple of seconds, the suction cup pulls off.
I'm going to buy a heat gun tomorrow and reattempt to loosen the adhesive. If I'm unsuccessful, I may have to look into a heavier duty suction cup - something that will keep its form amid the heat coming off the screen. - J
Do not heat the suction cup, you need to heat the LCD screen and then use suction cup.
Wit Rigs - You misunderstood what I wrote. First, I heated up the LCD screen with the hair dryer without to the suction cup attached. After heating up the LCD screen, I attached the suction cup and tried to separate the screen from the metallic case.
