I feel compelled to watch every 727 video I come across. National, Pan Am Delta retired in 1997. Over 23,000 hours stick time on 727s. I never moved up to larger aircraft. I loved the 727 cause my butt fit the seat and my seniority was a plus.

What an awesome plane. Off topic, but it's weird watching Peter Nygard's jet in 2022 with all the stuff that came out about him

Such a beautiful old plane, my favorite classic so far. I'm so glad to know there are still some of them operating flights. Long life for the 727!

Classic hot-rod! Flew on one when I was a kid. We walked on the ground and boarded via steps! The jet was SOOOO loud.

What a graceful fast bird. My father was a 727 captain. He loved them. God rest him. Regards from Australia 🇦🇺. Sad we don’t have any 727s operating

I used to fly the 727 with Kalitta Charters II, Custom Air Transport and the Royal Family of Kuwait. Still my fav bird to fly. Now on the POS, plastic Airbus 320. Miss the 72

Was a flight attendant for a charter outfit in the 90's flew 727s all over the Carribean and South America. Love that airplane!

I was the gate boarding agent and load planner for these beautiful birds for 20 years. Because all engines were in the tail that made the cabin very quiet. I remember the B727-200 were tail heavy, so we usually loaded most bags and even ballast in the nose section. Thanks for the memories.

the best and loudest jet was the kallita with the ridged exhaust tips on the engines. really brings back the 60's!

Tri-jet legend - loved flying in them, and miss the days when these airliners were tracking black smoke through the sky...The 727 is the hotrod of the Boeing family 💙

Jorge Jarpa , tell your dad I REALLY KNOW HOW HE FEALS, back in the day I was FO, on a B720, like the 707 but I had to surrender my British ticket to the CAB, for a. Medical issue., on the other hand I used to use EASTERN, for M A N Y. YEARS from EWR TO KIN , SAME CABIN CREW, But 2 different. Pilots whom I got to know, they flew B727-200 on that route,
      Cheers from NJ

The Nygard 727 is something strange, I just perceived that it has the MD-80's engines adapted to the fuselage, since that engine version, specifically the P&W JT8D-219 that uses that aircraft is more powerful and silent than the original versions of the 727 that use the JT8D-7 in it´s first versions, I realized this because of the larger air intake of the side-mounted engine than in the air intake of the central engine, I don't know if anyone else noticed it but excellent compilation of this wonder of aviation, cheers from Venezuela.

Adolfo Pinto , some ears ago, I saw some AMAZING photos, where a DC9 made an unusually H A R D landing. Causing the 2 ENGINES to rip away. From the plane, believe it was VIASA days.
      Cheers from NJ

@@flybyairplane3528 I also heard of that incident with a DC-9-30 but I couldn´t confirm that information, and with what I mentioned about that special 727, I was looking for more information about it and discovered that this version with the JT8D-219 on the sides of Nygard´s 727-100 are installed in the Boeing factory in a special version called Super 27-100 to comply with noise suppression standards for US airports, of these units were manufactured only 10 and in the world only 2 currently fly.

Adolfo Pinto , hello, here is what I was able to find....on sept 26/2011 AEROPOSTAL DC9-50 registration # YV136T HAD A HARD LANDING@puerto Ortiz both engines (JT8D ) pylon s &supports, tore off the plane, Flight #VH342 CARACAS, most came from Wickspedia ,,But was hard to find, then there is more on ‘AVIATION SAFETY NETWORK, CHECK IT OUT. CHEERS FROM NJ, USA

Hello! The Nygaard B727 is in fact a Super-27. Yes it has the JT8D 219 on no1 and no3 and the original JT8D engine in the no2. You can also notice that because of this arrangement it does not have the reverser on no2. The reversers are so big and effective on the 1&3 that they omitted it on no2. Saves weight and one less thing to service or repair. The Super-27 is in both the shorter -100 and the longer-200. The only reason I know these differences is that I flew ALL B727 versions. B727QF with the RR TAY engines where they enlarged the intake on no2, original B727-200 & B727-100, Valsan conversion and the Super-27 version. The Super-27 I flew was VP-BAB back in 2003-2004 owned by a Saudi Sheik and Marbyia Holdings and it had amazing performance due to the JT8D 219. Love the 727! Good memories!

Fantastic! ~ A disappearing legend. I would love to see a modern compilation of the DC-9 Series but this would require some serious work & travel I'm guessing. When I was 16 (long ago) I was given a tour of a Delta Airlines 727-200 by the 2nd Officer (Flight Engineer). He even took me on the preflight walk-around inspection. This was at KDTW.

Some 727's had clam shell reverser's and some had cascade reverse like this one. Cascade sends the reverse thrust thru some vanes in the back of the engine cowl. I don't know which reverser is more effective but I have seen both types do powerbacks out of the gate when needed.
