    I'm learning traditional characters, so I appreciate that you showed a few books that use those characters. Thanks!

    I definitely recommend the HSK books too, they're grand if you self-study till HSK 3 but after that, you'll probably need a tutor or maybe a very good translator app
    nice video thanks

      i absolutely agree! i definitely think i would struggle to self study the hsk4 ones, even with a teacher i sometimes struggle to understand the full meaning of the dialogues and passages! thanks so much for watching, have a great day!

      Blazing Shadow Hii, would you recommend the HSK 1 book for absolute beginners. I’m hopping to become fluent and not stop at basics.

      I'm currently self-studying HSK4 and have been finding the Chinese Zero to Hero course online really helpful for that (though it was a bit expensive...): they have translations of the texts and some more explanations for the grammar points. But yeah, I still have to occasionally ask Chinese friends or tutors for clarifications. 加油 :)

    Go Go Squid! I definitely need to read that 😊and I also use that grammar book from Taiwan. Good to see people sharing materials for traditional characters as they're not that many people studying traditional characters.

    Can you please show what is in the hsk workbook? I am going through the level one textbook with my online teacher but she did not have me get the workbook. I have been practicing writing and reading on my own as well as taking lessons. Would it benefit me to buy the workbook and work through it on my own?

    Hi Liss, great video! One question, any recommendations on Eng-Chinese dictionary for a beginner? I'm currently transitioning towards HSK2, I saw the Oxford dictionary but they also have Chinese-Eng in the same book and it seems quite bulky.

    • @amytheorangutan
      @amytheorangutan 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello, I’m not Liss and you might already know this but are you using Pleco? It works both ways Chinese-English and English-Chinese, perfect for all level of Chinese and free, though you can upgrade to paid one which is worth paying but honestly I was using the free version from HSK1-4 with no problem and didn’t need any other dictionary. Pleco is still the only dictionary I use until now.

      I think you can try Graded Chinese Reader, if you want something specially prepared for Chinese learners. If you are HSK 3 - try Graded Chinese Reader 500 words - I used to read it! Currently, I'm reading "2000 words" from this series. Good luck!
