      Because people tolerate family politics. You should never. Business is business and you treat them no different. I once was selling a product and my brother used to always say it looked funny or not right or literally anything (it looked wierd in the light?) And my response was always if you dont like it go to somebody else. Everytime.

      Always treat relatives with more scrutiny than strangers has always been my policy. Family is different than relatives because family are relatives that actually put in the effort to be close.

    Story 1: Entitled Aunt thinks she can sell a house, let the buyers eat the $300,000 cost of "a little renovation," and then buy back the newly-improved house for less than she sold it. What is the color of the sky in the world she lives in? She clearly isn't living in the same reality that everyone else is.

    • @stygiandragon3865
      @stygiandragon3865 2 ปีที่แล้ว +22

      I mean, EA seems like she has no idea what does the word "sell" means. When she sold the house to the sister, it means she's willingly giving up ownership to said subject and whatever happens to it will no longer be her concern. It feels like EA was thinking that if one of her relatives, it'll still be the same as her still "owning" the house AND got the money. Just my speculation, tho.

    Why would you be a Jerk for not letting someone buy a house back for less than half the price that you bought it for. That aunt sounds like she has some sort of RPG logic where she sells it to you for profit and buy it back for a lot less.

    I'd use the family tactic and voice raising tactic. Filipinos have very close familial relationships to the point that some clans/families have their relatives as their neighbors and usually have a very very soft spot from them. Most of the common parents I see in PH are literally oblivious of the law but can still be very hard to deal with since they're a cunning bunch and always use the family card(which is always very effective most of the time) when things get dicey. Anyways, using the family tactic might buy us some time before she returns but if it wasn't effective then raising the voice is the 2nd most effective tactic since raising your voice(not giving ur aunt any chance to retaliate) and making sense/spitting fax while the neighbors are listening is bound to make her go away without even coming back.

      I'm glad my family isnt like that. But yes, the "we're family" card is very prevalent here.
      I really wished families act more like actual families, rather than biological assets and investments. You'll be rewarded or gifted nice things if you treat your relatives well. And I hope that anyone in a toxic family could maybe move out (or whatever you want to happen to be in a better headspace).

      You'll be surprised we are not actually that. Since tourism loves to advertise us Filipinos to be polite.... yes we are polite but polite =/= kind people... just like some other countries, we have our own load of dirty laundry.
      Just like my aunt likes to quote: there's always a snake in every mountain
      You'll be surprised to see a lot of meme calling out Filipinos' BS such as "Marites" (basically like Karen but reserved for gossip mongers), ppl that don't pay the money they borrowed and have the nerve to be angry at you, they don't give way for pedestrian lane (they would rather run you over lol), and I guess many more, there's even that popular meme "I did a lot of bad deeds so I got reincarnated as a Filipino".

    This is why I would avoid buying property from family. Even if your family is nice to you, they might still have mindset of having ownership to property you bought and you will have a risk of having very difficult talk with them in the future. Kind of talk that results them benign mad. I prefer to keep that drama away from me even though that meant "giving up" on house I grew up and my folks lived more than 20 years. Aunt of the story had probably lived there long time and in her mind thought she had some saying to how house is managed and i guess it was amplified after she had some kind of mental-breakdown from being scammed.

    Given the aunt's history with money, I'd say getting into any business deal with her was a bad idea. The elder sister was right. However, other than not doing due diligence on the condition of the house, the younger sister and her husband handled things well and were fortunate the lessees were understanding. As stated in the video, the aunt might have some sort of gambling problem, shopping addiction, or both. The fact that she bought new furniture and appliances BEFORE paying for the new house seems like the actions of a shopaholic.
    When I heard 30% per month ROI, I practically fell out of my chair laughing. I'm pretty bad when it comes to finance and investing, but that's clearly a scam and not a particularly good one. It's so far into "too good to be true" territory that it's really targeting people with zero investment knowledge and are probably not well off.

    I have a story that happened when I was a kid a few years ago... Backstory it was 5:00 PM I'm 11 years old in a happy family I then decided to go outside and play with my little basketball outside. Now to the main part I was bouncing it in the front yard and it was loud I didn't see much issue so I had continued to bounce it, then I saw a pole that was like 30 feet high, I was trying to throw the ball up there and couldn't it still made that same loud bouncing noise. (PS it was a little loud but not to much) Then I look around it seems fine until I see a middle age girl coming out of her house, she lives next to us and when she came out this was the following conversation that followed: Me: Hi can I help you? : Neighbor yOuR bEiNg To LoUD!1!1!11 Me: I apologize. : Neighbor GoOd YoU bEtTeR bE nOw PrEpArE tO bE aRrEsTeD. :Me what😨 : Neighbor yes your doing this on my sidewalk. Me: what😂 Neighbor: DON'T LAUGH IM SERIES *snaps at me* Me: ok go inside I will be more quiet. Karen: you have 1 more chance Me: ok So I move away from her house a little and continue bouncing and she can still here me Karen: "stomps out of house" KID WHAT DID I TELL YOU!!! :Me i-i-im sorry Karen: UR TO LATE IM CALLING COPS!!! I was secretly recording this and went inside to tell my mom and dad what happened they run outside my dad says HEY MY KID IS INNOCENT STOP THIS Karen: NO HES BEING LOUD is this true son? Me: I moved away Sirens in distance look who's here says the Karen the Karen immediately runs to the cops oh thank goodness you're hear this kid is threatening me and assaulted me. Me: I didn't I have proof Pulls out camera here police check this. The police arrest the Karen and I pressed charges. My parents were shocked good job son thanks mom and dad I'ma go in now. The end

      @@zackdeeznuts5146 well a kid doesn't press charges, it's the police that decide to escalate it and auto change due to the false police report and then the DA decides to prosecute. The issue is people really don't have a grasp on how the system even works.
