    My friend you finally convinced me to go for it and do the purchase that i am struggling to decide for months now!
    It is not just the Camera, the lens and the final results, but your calm, happy and friendly being and also your reasons and dedication for photography that convinced me - thank you! I subscribed ofc!

    I have that lens too with a R7, love it, it's very expensive but worth every cent. I also use mine for close up, almost macro as well as birding photos

    I use the RF 100-500 for nearly a year now in combination with an R3. You are spot on that the low light capability becomes an issue.

      Ah that’s interesting you say that! I have to say it is absolutely amazing during good light so depending on the type of photography then it could be amazing but most of the wildlife I end up photographing is in the first or last hour of light so an f2.8 lens is a necessity

      @@wildlifewitholly I did away my 100-400 EF for it and till today I do regret it. Like you I prefer f2.8 or max f4.0 at low light!! I do some night wildlife photography and use sometimes even my 70-200 EF 2.8 lens.

      Thank you, I’m glad you enjoyed it! I couldn’t recommend it more, I’ve been using it again this weekend and the image quality and autofocus is absolutely brilliant for stills and video as well. I should have a new video up this week which will show some more examples! What do you currently use?

      @@wildlifewitholly I'll look forward to watching that! I've had the Fuji X-T5 for the past year since they released it and I love the Fuji dials and menu system - however, for wildlife, I am discovering that it is lacking in some areas. Changing camera brands needs a lot of consideration though as my camera and lens are lightweight compared to many others and anything too much heavier I probably couldn't manage. I'll subscribe so I don't miss your next video!

    Hi Olly. In your opinion, the difference in sharpness between a 7D Mark II and the R6 Mark II is so drastic. Well I'm in the same boat and still can't make up my mind to make the switch. All the best
    (my native language is not English, and I apologize if I have made any mistakes)

    • @wildlifewitholly
      @wildlifewitholly  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi, yes it seems quite a lot sharper, it has slightly more megapixels and the ISO is really good so you can still get sharp images in low light and not worry about noise. I’m definitely going to upgrade when I can and would recommend it!

    Lovely stuff! Really enjoyed watching.
    Please could you let us know if you also used a ×converter and if so, on which images from the video and what ×magnification?

    Great video, i have a 7Dii and upgraded to R7. The eye AF is alien technology and a big game changer. My friend has tge R5vand its eye AF is even better than tye R7.
    I use EF 70-300L f4-5.6 IS USM, EF 100-400L Mkii and they work very well on my R7 via the Canon EF-RF adapter. Tvis is byvfar a cheaper option than buying RF glass as i already own EF L glass !

    How critical is the camo-covering for your lens?

    • @wildlifewitholly
      @wildlifewitholly  หลายเดือนก่อน

      I think it’s useful, the lens is white otherwise so shows up a lot particularly when it’s dark or the sun glints off it if it’s a bright day, it also adds a level of protection from scratches and bumps

    Thanks for the video. I have the Canon R7 and the RF 100-400mm lens. It's not a good as the R6 mark ii with the RF 100-500mm lens, but it's not near as expensive...

      That’s interesting to know! I’ll have to explore that as an option, what’s the low light performance like on the R7?

    • @lbeetech
      @lbeetech ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@wildlifewitholly The R7 is a crop like the 7D. It's not bad with the R7 (it's better than the 7D). It's not as good as the r6mii, of course. I've been loving it for the crop sensor extra reach, especially for wildlife.

    I understand that you were whispering in case you disturbed the wildlife that you were unaware of, but on my laptop I couldn't turn the volume up high enough to hear clearly. Undoubtedly the 100-500 is a brilliant lens, except for the price, I have an r6 and it is annoying that the focussing is far better on the mk2 as I could not, with my limited income, justify an upgrade.

      Thanks for the comment, I try to boost the audio in post production as much as possible because it’s tough to talk any louder in case I scare the wildlife, as you mentioned. I have captions on all my videos to try and help with this as well.
