How do you measure 70volts amp with a Multimeter? I try measuring Common terminal to 70v terminal with sound on and with out sound and I don’t get 70volts. But speaker and everything works fine. Just wanted to measure output
The system only sees 70volts when the amp is putting out full power, and your meter will only get a stable 70V reading if the amp is running a constant tone at full power, not something seen with regular music etc.
My local made pa amplifier output volts are 95v @ 8ohms. (450 watt @ 8 ohms) it has no output transformer. The dc supply rail is 95+95. Can i drive 100v line speakers on it? how many speakers i can drive on it?
Great question Christian. The answer is that anyone can install a 100v line system; as it is a communication system rather than a 'power' system, it isn't covered by standard electrical regs. However, it is recommended to use some of the good practice of electrical installation when installing a 100v line audio system.
@@HowToAVtv Thank you very much for the answer, there seems to be various opinions on the net. Does EU have a rule set for how much power an installation (100V amplifier) can deliver before it has to be installed by an electrician?
Thanks for the explanation.
very comprehensive and well presented info video. thank you!!
Many thanks for your feedback Tariq - please keep watching and tell your friends and colleagues to Subscribe!
Hello. Excellent video. Is it possible to transmit the audio to the speakers using a Cat 5 cable?
Great video 👍🏻
Many thanks James!
how to connect 100v multiples speaker for one amplifier

Question:
Is the 100 v safe ?
What happens if someone touches the 100 v wires ?
Would he get shocked ?

how many speakers i can drive on it?
Can I use a book shelf speaker that has no 100v transformer
can i remove line transformer from ceiling speaker and connect with 4 ohms output amplifier?
100V line is AC voltage or DC voltage? Please advise
Guys - well done
Boaz Shani Many thanks!
Thanks...
Really nice video. What are the EU rules for installing 100V? Can anyone install it or does it have to autorized electricians?
