Your video did help me to get it working, but I didn't take it apart. I just took some small wire-cutters, grabbed the pin, and pulled it up rather hard until it got stuck in the up position. The mug is a little wobbly now, but it charges. I also emailed Ember customer support and they are sending me a replacement coaster. Thank you!
Nice video - yeah agree with the dude who said your way of getting the screw way better than other vids :-). Gave me confidence to fix since mine is screwed too :-/
I've bought three of these mugs and two are surviving. The chargers are a pain. I am using needle-nose pliers to pull the pins back out but I'm thinking that maybe coffee is getting down in those things and gumming up the springs. I'm also thinking that its not nearly as robust as it needs to be. I'm not slamming the mug down but a full mug is heavy in respect to those two little pins. It needs to be re-engineered and hardened up some. They are way too expensive to break that easy.
Same thing happened to me. I love my Ember but having to replace the coaster charger for approximately $40 is too much. Until Ember designs a better more robust charger, I will be sitting on the sidelines.
Just write their customer service. Mine wasn’t working. They just asked to send a picture of the pad and serial number under cup. They sent me a new pad within a few days. Very fast and easy. No charge.
They have been very good with support even after warranty ran out. Similar to your strategy, I just lifted the pin and put a small touch of crazy glue. No need to disassemble, time will the if it holds up.

Thanks! I’m glad you found it helpful!
Thanks for your help. Much easier to know where the screw is instead of peeling the whole sticker off to find it.
Anytime!
Add a piece of aluminum foil on the spring not popping up, do not allow it to cross over. Put the cup back on it and it works.

Yah that’s what I thought also, but the mug is well sealed. I’ve never seen a coffee spill on mines. I think the springs in the charger are just weak
@@kingsesay01 I'm being extremely gentle with my new one now.
Contact customer service, they are sending me a replacement as of yesterday.
T8 torx screwdriver for the bottom screw. Digi-Key P70-1010045R
"contact spring loaded," slightly longer than original, works great.
Thanks!
Thanks for the video! saved me $50!
Thank you! I’m glad this video saved you money!
Thanks so much! This fixed it!! ☕
You're welcome!

Yeah. Apparently, I heard if you reach out to customer service they would replace it. I’d advice to try reaching out to them

Hey Marcos, What part exactly are you asking about?
Same thing happened to me. Maybe they do that to make you buy another one 48 bucks on their website with tax and shipping
Email or message customer service. They're sending me a new coaster.
