The then Shelly-Ann Fraser(Price) was not expected to make the Jamaica team in 2008. She actually knock out Veronica Campbell-brown to make the team along she Sherome Simpson and Keron Stewart, and went on to win the Olympic, and the rest is history. So you are correct when you say there are athletes that are emerging that you are not focusing on that cant spring a surprise at the trials.

Sherone knocked out VCB. SAFP was SECOND at trials.

You guys are on the money(...). Last year, word on the street was Oblique Seville was ahead of Zharnel Hughes, but for injury setbacks, the camp is invested in 9.7x; he is putting in work(more over distance) and looking inevitable for the podium!

I agree with you….., but I do believe that the women are definitely the dominant force. I love the rivalry between Jamaica and the US. Keep us competitive and been the best that we can be. Nothing but love for US and Jamaica tracks

Listening to the first comments. There are two 10.6 women in Jamaica. Shericka ran 10.6 last year. Everything said about the women is correct. On the men side there are multiple sub 10 men. Watson, Blake, Seville, Thompson, etc. So while the men aren't as potent as the women, the competition will be stiff. Remember just last year Akeem didn't make the team.

I am a jamaican. Jamaica has nothing on the usa as it relates to quality.
However the usa destroys their athletes at the college level.
Jamaica is dominant because ja now have a coach that allows jamaican youngsters to not be destroyed by the usa college system by coaching our athletes in jamaica.
So to be clear jamaica is not dominating, steven francis and glen mills is. So usa you have yourselves to blame.
For those who dont understand some people will tell you the score for the world cup football finals in 1982 was italy 3 brazil 2.
But the people who see better knows the real score was paoli rossi 3 brazil 2 and italy 0 in other words italy could not win without paolo rossi.
The same is true without steven franno francis jamaica could never dominate the usa. You all just need see when you look.lol.
Have a good day gentlemen, i like your channel.

Listen yo Jamaica always have a stable of sprinters more than USA Jamaica is the Alabama of track longevity USA don’t have no longevity in it there is young sprinters right now in Jamaica at fifteen tearing up shit n women

You don't know what you are talking about. The Jamaican women have kept the country on the world's stage. Usain Bolt is Jamaica Track & Field because he was relevant for at least 12 years. Other than him you don't have anyone that was dominant in Jamaican Track & Field. You can't compare USA Track and Field with Jamaican Track & Field because the USA has more competition besides 100 200 400 races. You have disc, long jump, pole vault etc that Jamaicans don't have anyone competing.

What ?? Besides the 5 year run where Bolt, Blake, Powell, Carter and the other guy who ran 9.78, The USA has had a much deeper pool of athletes who have run under 10 and we can put together a team of 9.7 guys in Bromell, Coleman, Kerley and even though I thing Lyles has only ran 9.83 he’s definitely a 9.7 guy from a running start, Then you got 9.8 guys like Bracy, Norman, Bednarek and Baker, then we get all kinds of 9.9 low like Charleston, the high school Kid Miller, Micah Williams and Knighton who is really like a 9.8 guy with a running start, Then you got other 9.9 lguys like Gillespie, King, Kendall Williams and Holloway who at least equate to a 9.9 guy on the curve and probably a 9.8 out the blocks, He was the NCAA champ in the 60m twice I believe and a big part of there 4x100 record breaking Florida team, Plus you got Boiling, Carnes, Hall and Lyndsey who are all under 10 seconds
That’s 6 full teams with 22 sub 10 second runners and 2 guys who don’t run the other individually but can run as fast a turn as anybody excerpt maybe Coleman, And that was all of my head, there’s more lol…Our depth is unmatched in any era but I’ll give Jamiaca it’s credit for what it did when you only needed 6 guys to mix and match for a 4 man relay

He could come thru and deliver. Hes training for 100m. He already ran 10.1 this yr. He could get down to 9.9 and make the team if he doesnt get injured again this yr. We just dont know how things will turn out. 2 guys made the team last yr that we never thought would. I dont have him in my Top 3 right now though. For me, its gonna b Ackeem, Oblique and someone else. I would say Kishane but I dont know if he'll turn up in the same 9.8 shape. He tends to pull out of races; alrdy has this yr.

Seriously?!! Every country has potential athletes and before you guys came on the scene, BLACK athlete, like JESSIE OWEN in 1936 and then there were others in AMERICA before JAMAICA: Black Athletes opened the door 🚪 for YOU: AMERICANS were the TRAILBLAZER for the countries of diversity and ethnicity!!! The Olympics has rules and regulations to be qualified for the Paris Athletes!! Jamaicans attended the US international program of track and field too as other countries that now international programs are available worldwide so your point of view is not 🚭🚫 factual but opinion; all athletes who want to be qualified for the Olympics must qualify in their own country, EVERYONE except for those who already qualify by the International Olympics Union; Jamaican athletes are the ones to beat and anyone is bearable: it's called the agony of defeat but you have the comeback athletes too and that is the United States of America and now Canadians and others... United States of America sent 52 athletes to the Indoors WORLDS in Scotland; and these athletes had to qualify before being sent; new athletes and veterans with coaches: 20 medals were rewarded!!! Thanks for sharing though!!!

Jamaica has made a name itself in track and field since 1920s..."Jamaica gained international recognition in 1930 when Joseph McKenzie won a silver medal in the high jump at the Central American and Caribbean Games. Herb McKenzie, Arthur Wint, George Kerr, and Leslie Laing broke the world record in the 4x400-yard relay at the 1952 Helsinki Olympics." Then there is Don Quarrie, Merlene Ottey, Linford Christie, Asafa Powell, George Rhoden, Donovan Bailey, Usain Bolt, Yohan Blake to name a few.

Why no one has snapped up Gatlin as a track commentator/analyst/host a la Boldon, Michael Johnson and Richards-Ross is beyond me. World Athletics needs to replace Schippers with Gatlin. Real talk.
