there is a kill screen on either level 255 or 256, I can't remember. I'm assuming it's not an intentional homage considering it softlocks the game. there is no way there is any meaningful content past what is shown though
I played the game so many years ago that I don't remember the controls too well. That said, I might be able to try it sometime. This is one game that would be a lot better in 4p, not that I have the option to do 4p right now.
