    Hi Dr. Danoun. I just found your channel. I am 66 years old and have had tonic clonic Seizures since the age of 15. I am on several medications but over the years I have had break through Seizures. I was hoping when I was younger they would go away. But sadly that isn't the case. Its good to know that there are Doctors like you out there educating the public on this disease. Thank You and God Bless You. ☺🙏♥️🕊✝️

      @kerryD-h7u And good luck to you as well. What helped me cope with having Epilepsy was a girlfriend many years ago when she was studying to be a nurse said that in Ancient Greek times that it was thought people who were having Seizures were conversing with the gods. Nice thought. I said back to her that I wish they didn't want to talk to me. 🤣 But as long as we are on the right meds, stay on them and get our rest, we live normal lives. Although I have never driven and that’s okay. I don't want to be driving, have a seizure and hurt someone. God Bless You 🙏💖🕊✝️

    Hello from Hamburg, Germany,
    I had focal seizures with speech arrest, also status epilepsy. Then the diagnosis: Lamotrigine and Briviact since then. Initially many problems with side effects such as tremor (I am a doctor). Also many problems with aggression from others. 3 MRIs without any changes in findings, long-term EEG for 14 days. Fortunately now off Briviact. Just want to say very happy to have such informative blogs. Thanks for that

    I had my first seizure in September of 2012. I was home alone and it was terrifying. I remember coming out of the seizure and I didn't recognize any of the name in my phone.
    Two weeks later, I was admitted to the hospital with double pneumonia . I was about to be released when my MRI showed a lesion on my right frontal lobe . Had a craniotomy the next day. However, I did make a remarkable physical recovery.. emotionally, it took a couple of years. 😊

    Also vitamins and you can recommend spinal tap but doctors usually don't want to take it because epilepsy is business, cured patient is lost customer.

Around her periods the symptoms intensify, she just has to know it's the symptoms of meds and the meds fighting off seizures. I have to relax alot and even the type of music I listen to helps relax me. It gets easier the longer you're on Keppra. I hope the best for your daughter. Oh and pasta and white bread are a no go.

    Dr Danoun... I would like to know if you see a crossover between patients with a connective tissue disorder/Dysautonomia/MCAS (The Dysautonomia Trifecta) and seizure activity? I have 2 girls (28 homebound and 30 higher functioning) who have uncommon manifestations of symptoms even for the trifecta. Both are seeing a wonderful neuro (specializing in migraines) locally and he has done wonders with their current meds. He also is starting to run the route of epileptic activity (since their migraines are better controlled with meds). I'm interested in knowing from a doctor, who specializes in epilepsy, if you've dealt with/observed patients who cross both boundaries? I would love love love to see a video on this if you have. I've seen where you have touched on the ANS's contribution to seizure activity but would like to know when (severity of what symptoms) someone with ANS dysfunction should be seeing a seizure specialist to rule out misfiring in the brain as a hidden cause. Thank you!!!

    Can levetiracetam interact with carbamazepine tegretol?

      Try to add Aptiom. It helps and can be added with Keppra.

    • @Robz-z3u
      @Robz-z3u 20 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @Youmightknow111 I add Aptiom& kepra on the current medication or change from levetiracetam, tegretol to Aptimo& kepra.

      @@Robz-z3u Levetiracetam is Generic for Keppra. I don't know what would work for you. I am on Levetiracetam and Aptiom. Usually you only take two meds at a time. Sometimes the Generic Keppra ( Levetiracetam) doesn't work as well and you can request for Keppra.

      @Robz-z3u 20 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @Youmightknow111 OK dera, but since I have taken levetiracetam for so long, I will first pozi it& try Aptiom together with tegretol. OK! If I finish this levetiracetam this month, I will replace it with Aptiom.

      There's someone wo told me to use tegretol so I added it on levetiracetam, so I will leave levetiracetam & start Aptiom together with tegretol

    Does xcropi treat focal and generalized? Is it ok with someone that has mental health issues in the family? My daughter has been on 5 different meds none have helped the eeg. She is currently on onfi for her seizures and zoloft for her depression and anxiety and she is a completely different person we don't even recognize her. Doctor won't change anything until her EMU stay February 6th. I'm so worried for her.

      Xcopri is approved for focal epilepsy and new studies showed it can help generalized epilepsy. It does not have major psychiatric side effects.
