I think something really important is missed: at 1:48, you can see how the offense actually "acts" like the disc is actually up for huck, which makes the defense check for the disc. Check how the offense slightly looks up and focusses an non-existing huck (this lasts for like 2 frames). This is a REALLY veteran move. Good job on the video btw, love this content! Subscribed :-)

do certain teams talk about never looking back as defenders and instead relying on vocal communication from other players about what's happening with the disc?
Sideline communication is key in playing this kind of tight person defense. However, it is also important to scan the field and practice the opportune time to look back at the disc. Checking in with the disc as a defender is necessary to triangulate and play your best. However, it can be dangerous if you do it at the wrong time!
