@@jadedwitness9840 Music industry is as much business as artistry. They have an undeniable formula for sucess, and this goes well hand-in-hand with what they want to do as a group artistically.
Also, I disagree on every album and music being similar. This band is 40 years old, and I assume you are looking at the last decade..Anthony's rapping stopped circa 1998....the heavy funk-metal stopped by 1989. They are very different today.

    • @dboy2462
      @dboy2462 3 ปีที่แล้ว +15

@@sharinganchidori100 Not really. Layne could very well be alive now if he had access to a doctor that could legally prescribe him controlled doses of medical-grade heroin and crack. From 1982 to 1995, Dr. John Marks prescribed legal pharmaceutical heroin, amphetamine and cocaine/ crack for 450 addicts in the UK: m.th-cam.com/video/Zy_86iVhmkQ/w-d-xo.html The crimes commited by addicts dropped in 93 percent. Their health was significantly improved as they were using clean drugs instead of black market adulterated garbage, cut with substances even more noxious than the drugs themselves. Many addicts became productive members of society. And Marks had zero overdose deaths between his patients, even though addicts injected alone at home and some of them took truly massive doses - simply because the drugs were legal and doses were predictable, so that they knew exactly how much they were taking. It was only when the British government put an end to Marks prescription program that addicts went back to street drugs and 41 died within two years and the rest went back to crime and prostitution, showing very clearly that most of the problems attributed to illicit drugs are actually caused by their illegality. Based on Marks prescription program, Switzerland started a national prescription heroin program for addicts who failed at methadone in the 90s. They basically solved their heroin crisis by doing that, dramatically reducing the death, crime and addiction rate. And based on Switzerland's experience, the Netherlands started their own prescription heroin program, and again, it was a huge success, turning criminal problematic addicts into productive members of society - 80 percent of addicts on the Dutch prescription heroin program have some kind of job. Today, tens of thousands of people are dying every year because the illicit heroin supply is poisoned with fentanyl/ fentanyl analogue drugs. Those deaths are avoidable. They would not be happening if users were prescribed measured doses of legal, pharmaceutical heroin.

I think that if I was as big a fan of John Frusciante in 1994 as I have been for the last ten or so years, I would probably have been so upset I would've cried for weeks and probably been depressed for years. He is such a talented musician and an inspiration to me. I hope to one day turn my passion for music into something as tangible as he has done. Long live.

It's the hardest thing I have ever been through in my life, and it's been two years since I touched any Heroin. Don't ever try it is all I can say, because if it's "your" drug, and that "magic" hits you just right, it's going to be almost too late. You will do anything to continue to relive that feeling.

This isn't rock n roll.. This videos clearly is a low point in John's life, he's one of the most gifted musicians of our time but he took the wrong path somewhere down the line. This is actually really sad and painful to watch. Rock n Roll isn't about the drugs and booze.. It's all about the music and its rebellious nature.. Basically what I'm trying to say is you don't have to be a drug addict to be a rock star.. The good thing is he seems okay now and back with the RHCP hopefully making some more of that beautiful music...

Daanesh Sharma Don’t get me wrong, I know people can be great at whatever without drugs and I’m not trying to glorify drug use in anyway but with that said, I’ve thought a lot lately about what RHCP would be without the extensive drug use. It was such big part of all of them at one point or another and before they were (IMO) writing really good melodic songs they were putting on shows with fast paced unique sounding music. I feel like in their case drugs actually had a huge part in what made them what/who they are

i really don't want to write a comment that i feel is important in someway at all and have it misunderstood entirely. the first time i watched this interview was a year and a half ago, more or less. ever since ive discovered john as an artist which was approximatly the same time ive always looked up to the music he has made and the abnormal addictions he has come to learn from which is rare. since watching that video, and watching it again i can see what john is actuly feeling at certain

I hope more of his art from this time will be released, but I doubt it. There was a fire in his apartment and a lot of his guitars, notebooks and recordings were destroyed. He says in an old interview that he also gave some of his early recordings dating back to his teenage years to a friend and they got lost. Bummer.

Remember he fell into a pretty deep depression after the Chili Peppers where he thought he was a terrible guitar player/musician and thought he would never be able to play so he focused on painting instead. So he was pretty rusty up until Californication came out.

yeah of course say intereviewer in response to john in another dimension lol...
this phase of his is about death, he had to die on certain levels so he could live
free of the usual concerns that separate you from the moment in which you create
music...."you mind if I play one from then?"... still humble, not imposing on anyone
even though people impose on him with what they feel he is supposed to do...
he survived because of his honesty...i don't support drugs but i try not to judge,
some people do more harm as owners of a company to their employees or as a parent

moments. i hate writing this because i don't know if im correct in any way at all. besides john as a person which is a legend not like many other musicans for generaly the music they have made but how intreasting of a person he is, and i only know what ive barely reasearched and proably didn't interpet correctly in any way. besides the small talk which i hope can actualy mean something to anyone in any way at all. i am truly glad i have come to have grow as the person i am to truly appreicate

i agree with every word. it's been almost traumatic for me to see this man who i love more than my dad in this situation..but after all, he kinda had to go through this whole experiences because that made him what he is today. back in BSSM days, he was a just a little egoist spoiled little teenager. the near-death experience he had when there was a fire in his house (which he barely escaped) changed his whole perspective. and RHCP music was different if he didnt went through all this stuff.

  • @Christophanus

I hate it so much when everyone is like "this was just...so sad", seroisly he chose to go into this state and even now he says that the whole experience (1993-1997) was somthing that he really needed to do as a person. John states that during that time he was traveling into himself and figuring his spirituality out and how he fit into it all. Even though he is glad hes out of that place, he says it was the best thing he ever did and enabled him to be who he is now. He does not regret it.
