As a native Nashvillian you made me appreciate so much more of my city we try to avoid. I hope you had a lovely time and yes... Opryland is beautiful at night during Christmas!
Walking through the atriums at night, is the best. It’s like an indoor garden of Eden and Christmas is such a wonderful time to be there. Enjoyed the video.
Great video. I’ve lived in Nashville for 20 years now and I always love going to the Opryland Hotel for Christmas. It really is stunningly beautiful this time of year and they have such great shows and fun activities. They also have a new indoor/outdoor water park there as well.
Beautiful place. Watch the colored fountain show. And the boat ride is wonderful. 4 atriums inside are beautiful also. And the food, oh my. Could go on and on..Very wonderful place to visit if in Nashville.
As a native New Yorker, I can appreciate the awe you exhibit at the Opryland Hotel and Resort. I have only been in Nashville once, on a 2-day business trip, and I did not stay there. When we found out that we had 7 hours to kill before the flight back to NY, we dropped into Opryland, and had the same impressions/expressions as you. Since that time, my daughter has become a manager for Mariott Hotels, and I can get a "friend and family rate" there. Still, it won't be cheap lol.
I'm still excited with each new video, lol. Sort of like early Christmas presents along the way.🎄 Thanks for your hard work guys, we Legends appreciate it.
I clicked on this so quick because I use to work at old hickory and Ravello when I lived in nashville. So glad you enjoyed the hotel. I love that place even still to this day.
One of the best videos you guys have done in my opinion because you seemed to have really enjoyed everything (except the grim airport motel). It's like I've said when you've primarily eaten at fast food places in the US, eat at local restaurants for a better idea of regional American cuisine. That resort looked really lovely.
Wow !!! Look at yall getting all professional. Bravo 👏 brilliant classic . Loved the music tour. Ya know seeing yall have fun in our country make us Americans proud. 🇺🇸
Christmas time is "THE BEST" time to visit this hotel! For a long time, it was the largest hotel in the USA that did not have a casino. Currently, I think it is still top 10 as newer larger hotels have opened since. A little side note, Opry Mills mall used to house a theme park called Opryland USA. It was open from 1972-1997 before that megamall was built in 2000. Many Nashville natives and a few loyal tourists still remember visiting that theme park back in its day. That ice skating rink you walked past was once where the Opryland ride the Grizzly River Rampage used to sit. Yes, I have been inside the current Opry House as well as the Ryman Auditorium which is the original Opry location on 5th Ave N downtown Nashville. If you want a sneak peek of the Opry House, you can see pieces of it on the pilot episode of the television show "Nashville".
Enjoyed this vlog.Stayed here at Gaylord for a week for a conference and got lost every night trying to find my room! Yes, after dinner/ drinks LOL.Have been to Nashville since and stayed downtown. My niece also had her bachelorette/ hen party weekend there ( all flew in from LA/SF).They had a blast. I LOVE Nashville. So much fun and everyone so nice.Definitely a great place to buy a place and hire a manager to take care of rentals on Airbnb, Joel!Year round destination. Memphis is great too.i love Blues music and this is where it started-- and continues.Beale St.is calling me.Listen to song " walking in Memphis" by Marc Cohn.I did- with volume up and yelling it out my car window as I drove around!!You know, this is a great country!!!! So big and so many cultures.People need to get out of big cities like NYC,LA and EXPLORE!!
I absolutely LOVE this place.. it's been almost 15 years since I last was there..but it's still just as beautiful & mesmerizing. Thank you for taking me on a major memory flashback! It was lovely to see everything again! I hope you had such a beautiful time while visiting! 😁
Joel and Lia it looks like you enjoyed your time in Nashville, the scenery was beautiful, hope you enjoyed your lunch, and found the legends. I enjoyed watching this vlog.
love Opryland...it's so gigantic and fun...the rooms are nice, I didn't get one of the fancier rooms...just a 2 bed room...but it was really clean and comfy...I only stayed 2 nights while waiting to be able to occupy my apartment when I first moved to Nashville....glad you had a nice time country legends...I like getting to go back and see your adventures knowing you're safe and sound back in England...tah...❤💯💫
I live 30 miles outside of and I've been there a million times Opryland is one of the coolest places.. once was an amusement park, I grew up every summer almost every day with a Summer pass. But it's still a nice place to go love it at Christmas
I grew up in Nashville worked at Opryland which was a theme park next to the hotel. Walked where you did many times years ago. The food in Opryland Hotel is some most expensive in Nashville. You were at Opry Mills mall which was put in back in mid 1990's to replace the theme park. Macaroni Grill is good many restaurants are understaffed in Nashville booming economically not enough people for job openings.
Stayed here a couple of years ago for a school convention that was hosted by the resort. It is one of the most luxurious places I've ever stayed, loved it! Happy to live in this city
Absolutely Stunning! You should of stayed there for at least your last day. Get the most out of your vacations. Do better guys! Remember you only live once!
If you had been there closer to Christmas time, it would've been even more elaborately decorated. Growing up, it was a family tradition to drive into Nashville to the Opryland Hotel and look at the Christmas lights. I absolutely lived it as a kid.
Born and raised in Nashville and the Opryland Hotel (as we locals still call it) is incredible, especially at Christmas. Have stayed there a couple of times and highly recommend a room with a view of the Atrium. There are so many different sections. But you can’t go wrong with any of them. Stayed in the Cascades section for once and Delta (during Christmas.) Very nice But also used to be a place that you could have a good time just visiting and not staying. You could just go, park nearby, walk around and take in the beautiful scenery. Unfortunately, once Gaylord took it over, it is all about greed now. Was free parking for years. Then they started charging for parking and that gradually goes up every year. Was originally like $7 and now $30+. And FYI, you must pay that parking fee every day you stay there, not just one time. We locals know where the free parking is. But now they have closed some that off too, charging for that now too. Used to go every year to see it all decorated. It always lights up around my birthday and it was my birthday outing for many years. But haven’t even been this year. It is just so crowded now. And this year they have started only allowing those staying at hotel to enter or if you are willing to go in and spend some money. And guess you have to show proof. That is new rules. Most of us locals just wanna go walk around and enjoy the Christmas spirit. But not anymore. So that is that. Gaylord made a HUGE mistake getting rid of our beloved Opryland USA Theme Park. There is not another amusement park in the United States as unique as that one was. And they built that big hideous mall. I never go to it. And they have gradually made it to where most don’t go to Opryland Hotel anymore either. It is a shame what greed can do :(
Yay, finally an interesting video from this trip! Glad you did something interesting and didn’t miss the opportunity, which sorry…you normally do. I’ve been lucky enough to stay at the Opryland twice for conventions. Such an amazing place. Drives me crazy that if you aren’t eating garbage fast food, you eat at garbage chain restaurants (Old Spaghetti Factory, Macaroni Grill, etc. Let me guess…you love Olive Garden 🤢 🤮). Those types of places literally only microwave frozen entrées. You might as well go to the grocery store and get a frozen dinner from the freezer section. Every one of these places you have gone to has excellent local restaurants, that would give you a much better feel for the cuisine in the area you are visiting. Do some research, it’s not difficult to find superb food.
I think I recommended that you all visit here! I worked a few conventions there and loved it so much that I brought my husband and a few of my kids back this spring. It's so worth springing for the rooms with a view. My favorite is the conservatory!!
My Mom and Dad stayed there in September for their 50th anniversary. They said it was beautiful and enjoyed it. They also took a riverboat dinner cruise. Nashville seems really nice.
Hi Joel and Lia! That Opryland boat ride reminds me of the Riverwalk in San Antonio Texas. Beautiful place. Just catching up with some of your previous videos. Looks like you had a great day. Thanks for a great experience. De Elaine la profe.
I took my son out on the stage to stand in the circle when he was about 7 mouth old. Him and my daughter are 4th cousins with Minnie Pearl. Their great grandfather was her cousin.
My husband and I stayed there back in October 2021. I was constantly getting lost, and couldn’t find my room! 😂 And I don’t even drink! Our room was beautiful. We were in meetings all day for work, and I would love to go back just for fun.
After watching this video the other day, I had to go to the resort and get the Wedge Salad w/Chicken for dinner last night! I couldn’t get it out of my mind! Lol So glad you both loved the resort and Nashville! Hope you visit Tennessee again one day!
Nice video, very thorough and looks like a really nice place with great ambiance and lots to do. I am glad you guys enjoyed yourselves. Yes I agree it would have been nice for you to stay there. Perhaps they would have given you a discount since you are promoting their property.
The "river" for the boat ride was made by water from just about every ocean, river, lake, sea, and other bodies of water across the planet. When they opened it years ago, they had a ceremony of sorts called the "blending of the waters".
When I was an executive assistant, I'd plan a yearly business trip for my boss at the Gaylord Opryland. I've always dreamed of going myself, so it's exciting to see you guys visit 😀

Being from New Orleans that was definitely the vibe they were going for though obviously a manufactured version.
The lights are absolutely stunning at night, hope y’all had a fantastic time in Nashville
Nashville is my home town! Glad you had fun. It used to be an amusement park back in the 1970's.
Opryland theme park was where the mall is now.
yes, they changed it in the 90s I believe since I used to go there a lot.
What a gorgeous hotel! At least you know where to stay the next time you visit
I used to watch the Grand Ole Opry live at the neighbors back in the 60’s. Good Clean entertainment.
Great video. I’ve lived in Nashville for 20 years now and I always love going to the Opryland Hotel for Christmas. It really is stunningly beautiful this time of year and they have such great shows and fun activities. They also have a new indoor/outdoor water park there as well.
Hello neighbor 😀 love Opryland
I love the Opryland Hotel. I used to go all the time. Both proms I had were there. I love going at christmas.

Everyone accross the country is short-staffed right now, but it's wonderful that you got to see it. Wonderful video
Looks like you had a great time in Nashville. I’ve lived here for 15 years and still love it.
I clicked on this so quick because I use to work at old hickory and Ravello when I lived in nashville. So glad you enjoyed the hotel. I love that place even still to this day.
We stay there every couple years, so beautiful during the holidays!

It's like I've said when you've primarily eaten at fast food places in the US, eat at local restaurants for a better idea of regional American cuisine. That resort looked really lovely.
It is amazing stayed there a couple of times
It's probably the best hotel/resort in Nashville, and it's priced like it.
Great video of the Opryland. I was there several times almost 30 years ago and its even more beautiful and fun now..Thanks
What an awesome trip you had. It's been so much fun having you take us along. Thanks J&L!
Our church choir sang on The Opry stage on July 4th of this year. When the curtain began rising, I thought "This is so amazing!" Truly a Blessing!
Wow !!! Look at yall getting all professional. Bravo 👏 brilliant classic . Loved the music tour. Ya know seeing yall have fun in our country make us Americans proud. 🇺🇸
I really really love the Canada and US trip videos of late! I can't wait for the next video, cheers Joel and Lia!

I enjoyed a prom at the Opryland Hotel, then later a wedding night. It is definitely worth the stay! Please visit again!

I somehow missed the Tennessee videos and am just now watching them. It's fun seeing you experiencing my home state for the first time.
Oh my gosh. My childhood. Walking around the conservatories in the Opryland Hotel. So many years and so many memories there. My prom was held there.
When Joel and Lia were really good!
Wow. Stunning property! Too bad you couldn’t have filmed in Grand Old Opry! So glad you guys had a fun trip!
Joel and Lia it looks like you enjoyed your time in Nashville, the scenery was beautiful, hope you enjoyed your lunch, and found the legends. I enjoyed watching this vlog.
my great grandfather got to preform at the Opry and when i was in high school i preformed there with my school choir
Keep up the beautiful videos. They cheer me up during these terrible times.
I'm from Nashville, and I hope you had a great time here. Welcome back, anytime!

There is a Gaylord Resort like that in Orlando as well with live alligators and snakes. Opryland used to have a theme park with roller coasters.
I been at Opryland hotel at Christmas time and it's beautiful.
Stayed here a couple of years ago for a school convention that was hosted by the resort. It is one of the most luxurious places I've ever stayed, loved it! Happy to live in this city
So Beautiful! Magical
I've never heard of this absolutely amazing place! It's like a city unto itself!
There are 5 Gaylord hotels and they are all pretty big. Combined they have almost 10,000 rooms.
@@rich7447 To be clear, not all in the same city.
@@operator0 Not even close. LOL.
Absolutely Stunning! You should of stayed there for at least your last day. Get the most out of your vacations. Do better guys! Remember you only live once!
Love! Love! Love the “outro-“!!!!

I love staying at that hotel! Always have a great time whenever I go.
Whoever is picking the music for your vids is doing a really good job!!!
My favorite hotel anywhere! Was there in May 2021.
Oasis did play at the Ryman, the original Grand Old Opry location a few years back.
Didn’t know you were here . Hope you enjoyed my city! I used to drive the boats in the hotel back in the day.
Lia, when I was in London years ago, it was October and Harrod's already was decorated for Xmas.
Certainly a place and a city I want to visit one day...It's only a day drive for me, so I may have to do it...looks worth the drive.
Beautiful video! I do hope you have a chance to go back! Thank you for sharing!

I wish you had the chance to see the Christmas fountain/light parade, it is magical at the hotel, it is magical!!

I hope you had fun in Nashville! As teens, we used to hang out in the hotel, my Dad also worked there for years.
Hoping you stayed safe during the Storms
Very nice place, I never knew it existed.
Yay! You are in Nashville where I am. Would love to run into y'all since you seem like such awesome people!
I love watching your videos...I am a Nashville resident...I have been watching your travels and was excited to see you guys are in Nashville
great video, guys! Sorry you couldn't get a tour of "Grande Ole Opry". But the hotel look really huge. Glad you had a good time nevertheless.
I have been to Opry Land Resort at Christmas Time it was Lovely
Your video captured my room I stayed in for a week!
I took my son out on the stage to stand in the circle when he was about 7 mouth old. Him and my daughter are 4th cousins with Minnie Pearl. Their great grandfather was her cousin.
Looked amazing!
Opryland hotel/resort is a site to see all by itself. You could possibly stay a week and never leave and never be bored.
Congratulations on your engagement Lia!! So happy for you!
My husband and I stayed there back in October 2021. I was constantly getting lost, and couldn’t find my room! 😂 And I don’t even drink! Our room was beautiful. We were in meetings all day for work, and I would love to go back just for fun.
When you go back go to downtown Nashville and tour the Ryman Auditorium and tour the area.
Great vid! Macaroni Grill : always be prepared to wait forever.
Very nice place, Thank you .
After watching this video the other day, I had to go to the resort and get the Wedge Salad w/Chicken for dinner last night! I couldn’t get it out of my mind! Lol So glad you both loved the resort and Nashville! Hope you visit Tennessee again one day!
I love this! I've never been to Nashville and I'm impressed with this hotel, especially the antebellum mansion replicas in the middle of it
The rooms are amazing!!!
Ooooh! Nice.
A beautiful place!
Loved the video….I travel so vicariously through you guys lol!!
I’ve loved all of your Nashville videos so far. I wish y’all could have spent longer in Nashville because there’s so much more you could have seen
It was so cool to see y'all walk right past all the places I was in January 2020 before the world locked down.
Welcome to my city!
Opryland is amazing! I lived in Nashville and this was a great spot to explore!
I’ve been to Gaylord it’s a beautiful place I haven’t seen it in this season yet but it is beautiful
Nice video, very thorough and looks like a really nice place with great ambiance and lots to do. I am glad you guys enjoyed yourselves. Yes I agree it would have been nice for you to stay there. Perhaps they would have given you a discount since you are promoting their property.

Did they restock it that way after the flood?
My god I never knew that hotel existed in Nashville! I’m only about 4 hours away…this is definitely going to be an anniversary trip or something 🤙
When I was an executive assistant, I'd plan a yearly business trip for my boss at the Gaylord Opryland. I've always dreamed of going myself, so it's exciting to see you guys visit 😀
My husband & I went on our honeymoon to Nashville, & we toured the Opryland Hotel & Resort too. 😊
Too bad you didn't get to stay there. Looks wonderful 😊
Wow how amazing everything looks! I'm so glad you both enjoyed it! I'm so jealous😃
I've been to the Gaylord in Nashville. It is so awesome! It's so cool to see you guys there.😊😊
