It was Moa Kikuchi's 20th birthday! This show was in Nagoya, capital of Moa Kikuchi's (MoaMetal) home province. In the audience were all her childhood friends and neighbors and most of her family. In the front row were her best friends outside of Babymetal, who appeared in the video on their knees bowing to Moa!
This is such a cool video, as it does show off Moa's potential as a lead singer. Her voice is strong and full, and is quite distinctive. However, she has said in interviews that she was not too keen on solo or lead singing, but that this turn did give her a greater appreciation of Su's immense skills. Likewise, Su said pretty much the same thing as far as dancing lol. Still, I'd love to hear Moa do some of the songs she did in the past, and with Momo joining them we can only hope 🙂 Also did want to send encouragement and thoughts on your health issues. And that brings to mind Yui, Babymetal's original other "scream and dance" partner. She was originally inspired to get into entertainment upon hearing Su's group Karen Girl's [sic], which she listened to as a very wee lass to comfort her in the waiting rooms of hospitals when a relative was in and very ill apparently.
Yui was already a child model and actor before Karen Girl's existed. According to Yui, she went to the final Karen Girl's performance with her parents and Amuse manager. There was some question of whether she would continue to pursue an entertainment career because of how demanding it would be. But the performance inspired Yui to keep telling the adults "I want to be a Karen Girl's." Also, Yui's family and Ayami Mutō's family were friends, Ayami of course being another member of Karen Girl's and future first lead member of Sakura Gakuin.
Great reaction. Sorry to hear of your health issues, I hope you are feeling a lot better now. Moa has a lovely voice and this was very special for her 20th birthday (she and Yui took over lead vocals for 'Headbanger' at shows on or near their 15th birthdays in 2014 too). Always worth a mention is how Su steps seamlessly into Moa's place with the choreo as well.

Nice reaction. Moabanger is a fan favorite performance. With all she's been through With Yui leaving. It was high time Moa got to Shine. And shine she did. Moa has admitted that she gets very nervous on stage as the center of attention. But Moa performs like the pro she is. Some small details in the performance when Moa gets the mic she does her best Su impersonation. Holding the mic high. But Moa has to be Moa and smirks. The crowd cheers for Moa loud because these special birthday performances are rare. And the one for your 20th birthday only happens once. We missed a big celebration for Momoko's 20th birthday as she wasn't an official member yet. It would have been very cool if they would have done that on the same day. That would have been a concert party. Maybe we can write into Babymetal to try to get them to do a special 21st Birthday concert for Momoko. Then we can see Momoko get the mic. It is a big deal. I really started to hope they would make her an official member. I keep waiting for the interview to discuss this with them when they and how they made the decision to make her official. Seeing how in synch she is with them is winning over many old fans.

I’ve seen BM live in concert 11 times now and they’re still amazing. Actually, even better every time. #notacult Things I love about this video: the clear love and support for Moa from the fans, the huge cheer when Su passes the mic and the little smile from Moa, the even bigger cheer when she starts to sing, the huge crowd worship/bow and singing along with her in support, Moa had an amazing voice, the fact that Su has learned the choreography despite normally never needing to do it, and Moa’s Hedobanyaaaaaaaa scream at the end.
The hair pulling bit was actually when they were messing around during rehearsal, but mikkio thought it was cool and said she should implement it into the choreo the rest is history

"Headbanger" was one in the setlist performed in the recent BABYMETAL's North American tour (29 gigs in USA & Canada) with DETHKLOK that has finished on Oct.12. Devilish evil smirk on the archangel's face ! Moabanger reminds me that Lucifer is a fallen angel 🤔 In Legend-M show, "Moabanger" was the 12th song in the setlist. Moa sang it in a stable manner without getting short of breath after exhausting dancing for 11 songs + the first part of Headbanger until Su handed the mic to Moa. Only a huge amount of exercise as an athlete enables a girl to get such a big cardio capacity on top of training as a dancer. Her arms look dainty but I saw several photos showing her biceps brachii and brachioradialis in good shape that I admire as a workout lover 😄 。 She is another monster. No, lovely Moa-nstar.
Not sure if you've seen it but I believe Yui has a similar version where she took the lead on Headbanger for her birthday too, years prior, same transition I believe. Moa and Yui being good at singing their songs is less surprising than Su not missing a step when she swaps into Moa's role.

When they perform together, they're known as Black Baby Metal, referring to Black metal or harder metal music. And Yui has also sang lead on Headbanger herself. So Yui & Moa are not just backup singers and dancers. Smh.
They also changed the lyrics from 15 to 20 years old (girl). All girls have extensive performance training (Sakura Gakuin).

You can hear moa out of breath singing. I like her singing but thats why she choose to dance more than sing cause su is better singer than her.
Lol. You don't know anything about BM do you? Moa and Yui, when Yui was still in BM, had 4 songs in which they sang lead. Su wasn't even onstage when they performed their own songs.. When they perform together, they're known as Black Baby Metal, referring to Black metal or harder metal music. And Yui has also sang lead on Headbanger herself. So Yui & Moa are not just backup singers and dancers. Smh.
