    • @pfistor
      @pfistor 3 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      It is a shame they can't make their cert money selling books or whatever. But it does make sense that they need to send a few officials out and verify all the measurements and rules are followed.
      2 people controlling might be a different category.
      Also the frame dragged the whole time. And they had to put their feet down. So ultimately it makes more sense for them to just do what they did and make a funny interesting video than try and do anything official.

    True, the US did invent the motorcycle!! The Roper steam motorcycle of 1864 was the world's first 2 wheeled motorcycle, capable of a speed in excess of 70 MPH. Many were made and many replicas exist today. Mr. Roper became the first motorcyclist to die riding a motorcycle, after suffering a heart attack whilst in a speed trial at a velodrome in the late 1890's and crashing. His last words were recorded as, "Too fast, it's too fast!!". He was in his 60's when he died.
    The Austrians, Gottlieb & Daimler, invented the world's first internal combustion engined motorcycle in 1885.
    In 1886 a Frenchmen invented the bicycle (yes, motorcycles were around BEFORE bicycles).
    In 1888 the first ICE car was invented by Gottlieb & Daimler (technically it was a trike).
    1892 first 4 wheeled car invented with Ackerman steering.
    Great Britain invented 90% of everything else, mainly in garden sheds, including the sidecar in 1910, disc brakes in 1904, drum brakes in 1906, the modern spark plug in 1901, the magneto ignition system in 1896, pneumatic tyres in the 1870's, variable 2 stroke oil injection in 1933, etc.
    Bosch (Germany) invented coil & condenser ignition in 1902.
    Czechoslovakia were the first to put electronic CDI ignition on a production motorcycle in 1964 with the Jawa Transistor 50cc moped
    .

    I think you could add about a foot to the length by adding in a 'vertically hinged' section just in front of the rear bike section to gain articulation and thus a steerable ability to get around corners. Much like the long ladder trucks used by the fire department.
    Ride safe and thanks for trying to bring the record back.
