Love these old videos!! Made me smile during dark times. My daughter was getting cancer treatments when I found you on TH-cam back then. It gave me so Thing to look forward to
Tuning in Andy, much support for you brother. 11/5-23 needing more content from the MAN, peace brother, sending love to you. Good fellow. Go get um . ❤
hey guys sorry took so long to start uploading again this video took me 7 attemps to upload i will be uploading the second and third part this evening i had to take my camera out of h.d ten minute video would take 300 minutes to upload. peace
@dave360dave these animals are smart if you get a miss on a set you must study the tracks and figure out why you missed the animal and learn from it.trapping under the ice your blind wen you set this trap you cant see the trap or were ur setting it it is actually a lot of work.i wont even get started on the weather a lot of people would die if they ran my line wen it is -30 and the whiteouts are horrible cant see 2 feet in front of you. it takes time effort patience and experience. peace
andrew ur videos are really good love charlie dog and ur hunts aare informitive and pretty well filmed keep up the good work and get them fish and chickens be safe and peace
hey buddy great job im a trapper out of northern ontario good to see other young nishnabbs doing the old deed be safe and hit um. hard i do allright down here with good numbers of lynx & marten once i get a chance ill be out there this year hopefuly
@jsmallwood2007 Thanks for that. It's also a strong part of our heritage and the heritage of our nation. Not a sport, but a way of life. A meager living that is for a tough breed. I have a whole new respect for Trappers after being on the land with Andrew. I never realized how much work was involved in the skinning and fleshing of the hides to get them prepped for auction. I forgot the work our grandfather put into the hides when I used to watch him skin and flesh the animals at his house.
Andrew, Glad to see ya posting vids again. Have a question running the trap line by your cabin year to year dont ya worry about trapping out all the Lynx and Wolverine ? I know I have to watch how many bobcats and fox I pull off one line so I try to alternate my lines year to year Kyle
Hey mate great vids love watching them. Got a question for ya, do you dye your soft catch traps and if so could you make a vid on that. Mate keep up the great vids
Great videos man! I really enjoy watching all your videos ...I watched all of them so Keep the Videos coming ! They are great! I also trap. Just started, Its pretty awesome! By the way your living my dream there log cabin No one to worry about or nothing, no responsibilities ! And best of all you trap!
I completely support your right to your opinion. I just don't understand the necessity of someone who disapproves of trapping watching these videos. Myself nor the person in the video has "committed any crime against the animals" and I don't hate wolves or coyotes. The taking of animals has been a way of life for aboriginal people for 1000's of years (myself and the man in the video are both Canadian Metis = mixed white and native american) Living from the land is our right.
Was just curious, do you upload those videos from the cabin, or do you have to go to town to do this. Do you make money doing these? I know I do when I use google adsense. I hope you do. I watch your stuff all day, while working on the computer.
Great video as always. 5911ryan has a great channel. He has a great way if snaring coyotes. I would check it out if you have never seen anyone use a power snare before.
No your right & I realize that. I have great respect for many of the U.K.s Bushcraft men like Ray Mears or Bear Grylls although the latter is militarized in his training he is still top notch so far as survival & bush craft go. As a Bushman myself I find it hard to not come to the defense of a fellow trapper & bushman when they are being attacked by an Ideolog for what amounts to their own misunderstanding of the circle of life in remote areas of the world.,
thewildnorth ,just found your channel , just like to say its a1 ,as a hunter and outdoorsman myself i shoot alot of red fox , deer ,small game and waterfowl i also work for landowers shooting varmints,as here in wales uk we dont get nothing for our red fox pelts do you get any red fox in your area atb steve
@bfxp63 oh he is doing good he likes skinning thats a good thing he does the mink and weasels and i tought him to skin lynx hes done a couple hes not scared to get his hands dirty
Atta keep the spirit of you ancestors alive!! I hate to say it, but to many natives are brought into a life of poverty and alcohol. Its not their fault, its sad more then anything. This leads to a life of crime. Puts a bad name on your people. Though i know more then a few good fellas that love living the way of the land. Me...Im white as snow. But my heart is with mother nature....
Hey brother do a video on "STAYIN WARM" up there,,tell us how you do it!!Can't wait,I know you will do a great job as always!! Show us what cloths are best!!!!!
@dave360dave luck has nothing to do with it.trapping takes time and experience and you must know were to find the animals.you cant just set a trap anywere and expect a wholverine to go into your trap. once you set a trap thats not just it that trap has to be tended every other day it took me years to learn what i know now wen i was younger and less experienced i would catch 10 lynx a aseason same amount of traps set now i catch 40 a season it is hard work trapping the animal is the easy part.
well done.... in pa we have very tight restrictions when it comes to trapping and i really wish we had laws like you do. just out of curiosity do you actually make a profit??? i just ask because i do not and im lucky to break even from year to year. and if you do make a profit i would love to know your secret.
Andrew, is the population of the "links" good in the NWT? and when is their mating time and how many in the liter? Does Canada every put you guys on restriction of any animals not to trap?
Well in the video above it shows some of the animals caught in leg hold traps near/in water (I have seen other video's which confirm this). No animal in the wild lives outside in the cold. They make a den, sheltered from the elements. An animal caught in a leg hold trap are vulnerable/exposed to everything, this would stress the animal out and for all those hours it has been in that trap it has suffered. It doesn't just sit there or go to sleep you know!! It's will to survive will kick in.
Im sure some of it is used as bait. Charlie eats some and maybe some gets donated to the local wildlife to be consumed by them. I can guarantee that he doesnt simply throw it into the river to rot. Im sure it all continues to be consumed in the cycle of life.
Yep that Lynx at 4:46 is a Big one. Looks like a 30lb to 40lb Ole Tom Bobact in Mn. Minus them HUGE FEET. Our limit this year 2013/14 season only 5 Cats. One Fisher. Going to be short season for this guy. Snare the crap out of Mangy coyotes I guess.haha :)
Absolutely not, It is awful for any animal to die from pollution, but we only have to blame humans for this, because lets face the wild free animals cannot.
Love these old videos!!
Made me smile during dark times. My daughter was getting cancer treatments when I found you on TH-cam back then. It gave me so
Thing to look forward to

I love your work! If you can, please show your skinning process if you can! Be well and warm!
Hey just wondering, you use a 22 mag and a 17hmr right? Which one do you prefer? Which kills better or do the animals seem to notice? Thanks
Andrew,
Glad to see ya posting vids again.

epic as always
Another great vid man. How many sets do you run on your line?
I completely support your right to your opinion. I just don't understand the necessity of someone who disapproves of trapping watching these videos.
Myself nor the person in the video has "committed any crime against the animals" and I don't hate wolves or coyotes.
The taking of animals has been a way of life for aboriginal people for 1000's of years (myself and the man in the video are both Canadian Metis = mixed white and native american) Living from the land is our right.
Nice cats man, damn nice.
When you come across an animal that is not dead, where do you shoot them to not damage the pelt?
Probably a head shot or z neck shot. And i think he sews any holes shut after the pelt is stretched if im not mistaken. Im not 100% on that though.
I think he usually goes for the eye or ears, instant death, but it all depends on the trappers or if u get a good shot or not
+Stephen Luciak I use a 22. the trick is a metal jacket bullet. doesn't expand or fragment leaves a tiny hole in and out. easy to sew.
+Stephen Luciak = rectum
nice job.......do you kept trapping the same line all season
How would you use the wolf pelt for gloves?
I love that sticker in the window , the saying is so true .
i see the castors hanging in the shed to dry , do you sell em , or use em for lure .
@pinetar100 no i change it every season
Was just curious, do you upload those videos from the cabin, or do you have to go to town to do this. Do you make money doing these? I know I do when I use google adsense. I hope you do. I watch your stuff all day, while working on the computer.
Andrew, what are those hung on the wall behind your bag of meat, 1:16 ? By the way, another great vid dude , Have a nice day ; )
I belive they are beaver caster sacks
Nut sacks for urine lure?
Friggin rights brother!!!!!! Keep givin’r shit!!!!!
@rtownleyhunter everytime i check i set a few more i have a lot of sets right now takes 2 days to check
Great video as always. 5911ryan has a great channel. He has a great way if snaring coyotes. I would check it out if you have never seen anyone use a power snare before.
At 1:18 what is hanging on your wall to the left of the strecher???
No your right & I realize that. I have great respect for many of the U.K.s Bushcraft men like Ray Mears or Bear Grylls although the latter is militarized in his training he is still top notch so far as survival & bush craft go.
As a Bushman myself I find it hard to not come to the defense of a fellow trapper & bushman when they are being attacked by an Ideolog for what amounts to their own misunderstanding of the circle of life in remote areas of the world.,
what do you do with the lynx meat?
thewildnorth ,just found your channel , just like to say its a1 ,as a hunter and outdoorsman myself i shoot alot of red fox , deer ,small game and waterfowl i also work for landowers shooting varmints,as here in wales uk we dont get nothing for our red fox pelts do you get any red fox in your area atb steve
What kind of gun is that , it sounds like a 22 but it dosent really look like one
love the sticker at 1:25
Really enjoy your videos. Just curious- have you ever eaten a lynx? I imagine it wouldn't be very good- survival meat only I suppose...
Your soft catch traps don't ever freeze up?
How much would you charge for a hat or gloves made from a wolf pelt or other such animal?
good trapping brother
north bay is beautiful..
@bfxp63 oh he is doing good he likes skinning thats a good thing he does the mink and weasels and i tought him to skin lynx hes done a couple hes not scared to get his hands dirty

How big was that cat anyways?
There not in north bay there in NWT right?
Atta keep the spirit of you ancestors alive!!
I hate to say it, but to many natives are brought into a life of poverty and alcohol. Its not their fault, its sad more then anything. This leads to a life of crime. Puts a bad name on your people. Though i know more then a few good fellas that love living the way of the land.

Trapping in the wild, do you know we're I can get a bear gall bladder ?
@dave360dave luck has nothing to do with it.trapping takes time and experience and you must know were to find the animals.you cant just set a trap anywere and expect a wholverine to go into your trap. once you set a trap thats not just it that trap has to be tended every other day it took me years to learn what i know now wen i was younger and less experienced i would catch 10 lynx a aseason same amount of traps set now i catch 40 a season it is hard work trapping the animal is the easy part.

Just go no one is the bush
did you teach yourself how to trap (question)
the first lynx must not have been in the snare very long, it was not frozen up at all
hey man. how bout some new vids.love watching your channel. keep it up.

Your in N.W.T, but from North Bay ontario? that's quite a difference....
Paige Cosgrove Pretty sure he's in NWT off the hay river and refers to the North Bay as an area of a nearby lake? Possibly Great Slave Lake.
@stayingawake20 i will do that no problem
Did you forget about us haha when is the next video coming ?
Ever tried trapping dave? It takes just as much skill as hunting. I do both and have done so for 30 years
Can you eat a lynx? What happens to the meat.
Im sure some of it is used as bait. Charlie eats some and maybe some gets donated to the local wildlife to be consumed by them. I can guarantee that he doesnt simply throw it into the river to rot. Im sure it all continues to be consumed in the cycle of life.
Then again, i dont know shit about shit and im just guessing.
yes lynx taste sweet like rabbit
Ouis Sandy actually it’s quite nice.
@alphatrapper one time i walked 12 miles in the snow took me 8.5 hours
Yep that Lynx at 4:46 is a Big one. Looks like a 30lb to 40lb Ole Tom Bobact in Mn. Minus them HUGE FEET. Our limit this year 2013/14 season only 5 Cats. One Fisher. Going to be short season for this guy. Snare the crap out of Mangy coyotes I guess.haha :)
This is the first video where I actually saw Cuzz doing something....
@trappermike89 beaver castors
Why does it say 'TH-cam not available' every time I try to subscribe??? For days now!!!
I am a trapper from pa, would it be possible to run a one with you
My son, daughter, and I started trapping this year , Luck has nothing to do with it
To the right of the strecher not the left
I need a lynx foot to make a key chain out of. would have the only one at work. lol.
He lives in Canada there buddy

Absolutely not, It is awful for any animal to die from pollution, but we only have to blame humans for this, because lets face the wild free animals cannot.
