Great check for you guys. I have been trapping here in northern Alaska for 50 years and can really appreciate a good catch of fur. Best to you for a safe and productive season. Arctic Circle Dave
I am with ya one the Spaying the timber companies do, the elk here in Western Washington have hoof rot really bad. I have seen the elk pop drop in half the last 8 or 9 years. Thanks for taking us along
Not sure what part of western Washington yer in, but yeah. Elk population here in Skagit County has been gradually declining. Our 3 big herds have diminished, while our predators have likely doubled in population.
@@eddybear771 pierce County, there's definitely alot of cougars around but the big problem is hoof rot for us. There is a herd of 50 elk in a pasture just down the road from my place and half to 2/3 have hoof rot. It's a slow painful death for those elk.
@@jasonhoesel7144 yeah hoof rot started slow, the seemed to have accelerated in a few shirt years. I used to hunt muzzleloader elk every year, before that bunch of city folk ruined it for everyone here in Skagit with the ONE BILLION percent unethical half hour turkey shoot.
just found your channel last night and I can't stop watching. I am a new trapper and appreciate the information you are putting out. how are you dispatching the larger fur bearers ?
What are you boys running for sleds? im sitting up in Northern SK and working thanks to Starlink. -32 tonight. I run a 20" scandic. looking at an expedition for the next sled but like the scandic in the bush and it will pull a ton.
Interesting to see the various animals that you successfully trap. Are you able to sell the furs for a good price, do not know a thing about value of furs at retail.?
Thanks for your upload. I'm a land owner up in Northern Minnesota. We can't trap or shoot wolves here. I do my best to keep them off my property. I go along and make scent markers with my own urine. Any suggestions as to keeping them away would be appreciated. Thanks and God bless.
Me, and my woman, and the dog live in a trappers shack here in northeast Minnesota, can't make a living trapping in Minnesota because of the laws, and I don't trap for sport. But living like this is a challenge nonetheless.
That is awesome. We trap for money but mostly to be out there, exploring, learning about the animals and how to find them. Living off grid is hard but satisfying. 🍻🇨🇦
I live in California. We have a huge elk population where I’m at from an Indian reservation next to my property. Bear and Cat are becoming a big problem. My kids can’t play outside because of them
I think you can turn on subtitles in the bottom right corner when video is playing. Then you can change language in the settings button right beside the subtitles button. Let me know if that works for you.
It's a fun video, but how do you make ends meet with fur prices being so low? You have 3 expensive Ski Doos burning gas and you all eat. I don't see how u ou end up making enough money for 3 men.

They need to stop for all animals sake. It's sad how poorly our forest is managed

Yes we sell the furs to market. It goes up and down. Lynx, wolverine and wolf are worth the most. 🍻

We are doing our best to get the numbers down a bit. I'm not sure what one would do if you can't shoot or trap. I will ask the old timers. 🍻

Hey awesome content! How big do the wolves get up there like the big boys? Weight and shoulder height ?
A big one is 130 to 140 and over 3 feet to shoulder
Great Video! Are the flying squirrels nocturnal?
Yes and they are and are usually gray with a whiteish belly. The blacker one was very cool
I’ve been getting pics on my trail camera over a corn feeder every night- I was told they were flying squirrels
Their eyes are huge.
cool coloured wolf
Ya the black with grey is pretty. 🍻
Howdy 🤠 y’all, Greg from Texas and I’m a new sub to your awesome channel! By the way it’s 74° here today! 🥵
I appreciate the Sub! Holly 74 is to hot for me. 🍻🍻
Squirrels used for bait not fur?
The shrews chewed it up when it was trapped so the fur is no good.
Thanks. ✌🏻👊🏼
Thanks for watching 🍻
Bigfoot, Hairyman, Sasquatch sightings?
Haha no but we are always looking

Lot of squirrels no marten?
Not many marten no. We mostly target wolf wolverine lynx coyote and beaver.
You should try some squirrel snare poles .
We have them. When the snow gets deeper they will start using them. 🍻
Where is this? In general terms of course
In British Columbia Canada 🇨🇦

i sure like to buy a wolverine plew
They are $600 and then you have to get it tanned. We don't have any right now. The guid outfitters buy them up right away.
