When I was a boy, we weren't forced to run the yards... I volunteered to do it because it was fun for me. Now that you're free if you have children I hope they enjoy it too.
I already knew that the people of North Korea are simply a kind and gentle people and were forced to do what they are told by their corrupt leaders. Interviews like this one, makes me realize that they are not only gentle and honorable but courageous as well. Leaving their own country, with the desire to live free from corruption and occupation as well as the desire to love the people in the 'west' rather than hate them takes a great amount of courage. I always had the 'hots' for Asian women, due to many reasons. This interview - as well as many other of your videos - makes me realize why. Thank you...

Thanks for this great interview! It's so rare to hear from such a recent defector. If she's willing to answer more questions, I have a few: How long was she under that heavy surveillance for after her mom defected? Were there any other consequences for her family?
Majority of defectors from NK are women and that's because the government won't come down as hard on there family's. Now if a man escapes that's pretty much when they're family is taken into custody. Go check out the yt channel Voice of North Korea Yeonmi Park she's a NK Defector and she explains in detail how the system works.

@@TheQuancy Even if they didn't have nukes, they're still close enough to Seoul to practically obliterate it with conventional weapons before they could be stopped. It's an incredibly dangerous situation for South Korea if NK is provoked into action.
The UN Security Council has 5 permanent members, each with veto power: the US, the UK, France, Russia, and China. No matter how unhappy China may get with NK, it's still preferable to them to have a dependent, if unpredictable buffer state vs having US military bases right on their border via S Korea

@@mikebegay3824 that’s strange because Native Americans native tongue isn’t English. It changes per tribe. English was the language colonizers brought here. America is a melting pot of many different cultures now. Plenty of Koreans as well. She can go to America even if she doesn’t know English.

I thought the families of defectors were sent to prison. Her family don’t seem to have had to do that

How do relatives in China or SK get money to NKoreans? Surely not through the mail.
The black market passes goods etc from China to NK.
I'm sure there are people who would carry money/goods to people for a fee.
