Once upon a time, there lived a princess named 李子柒 Liziqi. She lived with her grandmother in a village located in south west china. She had three puppies, a lamb, a cow and three geese. She also had her own eden garden full of fruits and vegetables. Everyone who watched her videos envied her. Some evil people became so jealous of her that they even pressed the dislike button on her TH-cam channel. But princess 李子柒 Liziqi had more admirers than ever and she became famous throughout the world.

I was exactly like Liziqi when I was young, living in south Viet Nam. I cooked for my whole poor family everyday at age 12. We did not have a big beautiful land like Liziqi; my single mom had a small house and I was cooking, cleaning every day before and after school. I am now living in the US (Irvine) and became a Registered Nurse for many years. I now have my own a house and a beautiful garden my own. Life was very struggled for us in south VN. Liziqi's videos reminded of how my life was back in VN. Bittersweet!!!

I'm from China I used to cook for the whole family every day when I was 10 years old :) Also cleaning etc. I studied very hard in school and now I'm a professor in the US. I miss the good old days of simple life.
My mother told me that she cooked for the whole family when she was 3 years old at same time she carried her sister at back. I was shocked, don't know true or not. But my cousin cooked since primary school for whole family, including buying vegetables, meats, etc. I went together with her to the free market, saw she never bargained at all, I asked why, she told me, she knows the price. I stood beside her when she was cooking, at that time, I didn't even know how to switch off the gas when she asked me, then I almost burnt her face. She was died below 20 in Japan because of an accident. She was delivering newspaper in the early morning, and a drunk driver crashed on her. I was in City of Chengdu, I know people in countryside can do much more than us when they were young.
I think the reason why these videos are so entertaining is because every shot presents something new, or something new is happening. Even though the videos feel peaceful, not a single second is wasted.
definitely agreed. i have adhd and usually can't sit through "slow-paced" videos without fast and uprubt cuts because my attention tends to wander of. but her videos always catch my attention and keep it because there is always something happening.

Because I also lived in the countryside when I was young, I’ve eaten almost all of these foods! 🤤🤤🤤Our hometown is Beichuan District, Mianyang City, Sichuan Province, China. It not only has beautiful scenery and delicious food, but also has a history of 3000 years. The people here are also very simple and kind. We welcome all of you to our hometown!👏👏👏👏🌹🌹🌹
At the beginning she was doing everything by herself. Now she has a camera man and an assistant. However, she is still a big role in setting design and video editing. Some people think this is not her credit. What a shame, I alway encourage these people to share any of their viewable clips, let other judge their work and video.

Il be honest, I’m always more impressed by the quality of the filmography in these video, there’s like 6 different camera angles for every scene. It’s insane how much work is put into these videos
It’s a team of 3 ppl only, Li ziqi, a girl assistant and a cameraman. Cameraman films the footage and organizes it, but Li Ziqi is the storyboard person, director, artistic director and editor.
Was watching one of the very few interviews that you had given and you remarked about how your main purpose it seems of making videos is to relax. Comparing your life in the countryside with that of those in the big city hustle and bustle where trying to keep an edge and stay alive is the main purpose for those fighting in the city. And I’m sure somewhere in all this mix is something even more important: with the world of automation and machines and trying to cut costs and make things cheaper… Isn’t it more important to display craftsmanship and a sort of wholesome value. The care and talents which you lay down in the products such as the things that you make, whether it be food or clothes or furniture… It’s becoming a more and more lost art. Your videos should last multiple lifetimes, standing against time; they are tool to the lost art and a sense of pride, a standing video document of deep heritage. They will never be anything more beautiful than craftsmanship that comes from the soul and heart!
