Growing up on a working farm in Southern Ohio, I fully understand the lack of “Downtime”. But that’s the life commitment we make. Miss it very much! Great job team.
A very big and efficient operation. No 'easy' jobs. I missed the Digging Video. In my early days it was a 1 row digger towing a bagger, 6 people and weeds 6' tall. I got to pick up the potatoes left in the field. Forgettable.
I get a kick out of how you just casually readjust the camera in all your videos. I usually edit that stuff out but you make it look smooth and part of the video. Nice work!
Haha thanks! to be honest I find the very polished video to be great! And sometimes it’s kinda humorous to watch that stuff. Makes us all remember how much works the editing is :)
I really like your channel, the videos are always interesting and informative, thanks so much!! Shane is very talented, love to see more of him on camera.
Great video. I like all the different camera angles you use showing the equipment and you put in a LOT of work making these videos. Keep up the good work. I used to unload 2 pallets of water softener salt for the water softeners in the hospital I worked in and then dump them in a 80 gallon plastic barrel and make brine. Nothing wrong with good hard work. Now I operate a keyboard.🙂
Really enjoy your videos..... Do you have a problem with Deer? Do you allow people to hunt any of your properties? We had a bad problem with Deer when we had soybeans and corn. Usually took our bag limit of Deer each year. Didn't put a dent in the population of deer.... Things you have to deal with as a farmer. Take care and God Bless you all.... Looking forward to the next video.....
Deer are one of our biggest problems, people just won’t shoot does during hunting season cause they want that big buck. So basically once they start doing too much damage farms get a permit to thin out the does, since they are the ones that do all the damage. Typically can keep 3 of them then the rest go to soup kitchen/ food bank/ stuff like that.
I bought a Shane shirt only because I'm sure there is a friendly bet between each other who sells more red or blue...lol I promise once the shirt comes I will buy a red one. I'm not sure of the size because I lost a lot of weight because I finally had my hip surgery last week. So once it comes in I'll have a better understanding for other gear you are offering. Thanks again and keep up with the videos
Why don’t you put in a water tank below ground that will allow you to turn the earth in fields close to the river you pump from? You will have some emergency water to use if there is a river problem and also turn the earth you plant in, giving you some virgin top soil if required for grading! Keep safe and enjoy your 4th of July.
I HAVE PRETTY MUCH QUIT BUYIN TATERS, LAST BAG I GOT I TOOK OUT 6 FOR BAKERS OVER A WEEKS TIME, NEXT WEEK EVERY ONE I PULLED OUT HAD A CUT AND WAS DAMN NEAR ALL ROTTEN, YOU CANT FIND QUALITY , WELL I CANT, WELL DARLIN YALLS TATERS LOOK PRETTY GOOD, I SEE SOME HAND BAGGED AND SOME AUTOMATIC BAGGER, THEY PICK OUT THE BIG BAKERS
Looking foward to the garden (grocery store 😂🤣) upddate! Great to hear ya'll got some rain! We finally have see a little bit after 30+ long days. Corn went from 3 ft and turning in on itself to 4 foot sprawling out wanting more. LoL. Molly, vid was great. Good sound, good video, good timeline. A+!!! 👍🏻👍🏻😎😎😎
I have always been a corn and bean farmer but I have always been fascinated with potato farming ✌️ your group of people are hard workers and I appreciate all of that because we love French fry’s 😘😜
There really isn’t a machine to removes them, but the brushes in the polishers help break them off. And we do it manually if they get missed while the potatoes are being bagged :)
I eat sprouted potatoes all the time. The rule is not to eat many green ones. If you have a piece here and there I’m sure you are ok. Just not a lot of them. I usually will cut a green part off.
Hey Molly & Shane - so glad you had a good time with your family. I was going to ask you how your garden faired after the storm, I know you were hoping it would do well. I would love a shirt but I’m going to be patient and wait for a hat. I know it will take some time, but it’ll be worth the wait I’m sure. Another thing coming up is football season…Go Browns!! 😊
I really like how the rest of the crew goes right along with the videoing. Thanks for your hard work getting the shots and editing. I’m sure that can be kind of a PIA!
First Molly you are gorgeous as ever. Second, are these potatoes that we watched you guys plant this year? Lastly you are gorgeous. Did I mention that already?
people say after god is doctors .......who can save a life.............but i think that after god is you farmers that work so hard day and night to make food available to sustain peoples lives including doctors ...........great videos from you.......
We have a couple hired employees who are not family. But they might as well be family. Brian has been working with us since he was a teen, he worked at the farm before Shane was born I think.
So Molly, these potatoes in the totes were bagged in early 2024? How long would you be able to keep them around before they get full of "sprouts"? ...and at this point these potatoes are only going to food service users......?
These potatoes were harvested and put into storage in October 2023. They are still being used for regular table stock. These are mostly chefs (large potatoes) and the chefs are used for restaurants and fresh cut fries mostly. We do sell them in all size bags in our store too. The processor is getting our #2s ( ugly ones) haha
Ok ,I am confused ! Lol! The potatoes you are bagging are last seasons harvest from the storage buildings ,eh? Also ,I watched you running the potatoes thru the machine tumbling the dirt off of them ,then you spray them with water ? I thought introducing water will make them more disease prone in storage ?
@@ElmerJFudd-oi9kj hey there, the potatoes are weight first up above, then they will dump into the opening to fill the bag. As far as knowing when there is a bag, when you hang the bag there are little arms what grab the bag as you hang it. The machine must have a sensor to know when it is in the holding position. Sometimes is a bag rips it will still dump potatoes even though the bag is not secured. The. It makes a mess haha
Ray Dave and Shane have been developing their markets for years! But more recently I have jumped into the game with some advertising! TH-cam has helped get some new customers
How was the trip home to Ohio, good time? People get to see how you stack them different each row to lock them in so they won’t fall over. Reminds me of my warehouse days unloading trucks.
Enjoy your videos, they’re not slick like some which is what the people want to see. You do a great job Molly but I have to tell you that petting the dog before you handle a potatoe when you're all about cleanliness in the food producing industry is not the thing to do.
I do wash my hand before I resume bagging. When I’m editing videos, sometimes those things are not seen. I do have a standard operating procedure for having the dog in the packing house. And employees get trained on proper handing of the dogs as well. I just had my inspection last week and there are no issues. But thank you for voicing your concerns. Most situations with animals present is not acceptable I agree. Potatoes always get cooked so that also lowers any risks.
We sell most of our potatoes to Market Basket grocery store chain. We also sell a lot through our farm store to customers and local restaurants. We sell a lot of big potatoes to fairs for fresh cut fries.
Morning sunshine Hope y'all are well. Good visit and trip to Ohio? Sign of good storage to be still bagging this late. Hope you have a great weekend. Find time to RELAX

Molly you are a very, very good YT creator. Excellent quality, content, production and especially presentation. Cheers!
Thank you very much!
Molly...when you were in Ohio, did you tell your Dad that you were a big internet sensation?
Well...NOT that KIND OF sensation! Lol
Haha my dad watches all my videos. :)
Hard working crew. Always enjoy watching the whole process. Thanks.
Came for the view, stayed for my new found appreciation of farmers and farming
