I didn't think that smart people actually believed these things. Then, all of a sudden, people began to seem as if they DID. Sanity and common sense seem to be largely things of the past.
Mr. Metaxas says that the book "When Race Trumps Merit" was "entertaining on some level." I read the book, which is excellent, but didn't find it entertaining in the least. I found it profoundly depressing. Western Civilization and the pillars that have created and sustained it are all coming down. Meritocracy and reason itself are all being undermined and destroyed, across all institutions (including those that should know better), in the fanatical pursuit of a chimeric "equity" agenda to equalize results, a situation that has never existed and never will exist as long as humans do.
Kudos for mentioning Alan Keyes. I got to vote for him in a presidential primary and later again for senator against Barack Obama. A missed opportunity. HE should have been the first black president.
Rather, We need to grow beyond assessing & debating their claims. Assess obvious AIMS. Obvious results will/do flow from activities, claims, operational priorities decades-to-centuries deep.
