The echo of your voice when you're in a cavernous area and the muffling when you put the mask on is REALLY neat lil thing that adds atmosphere to the whole game 10/10
For those wondering, 24:22 the frame says "a clap and a half to you, we will miss you" (he says it really quietly so its hard to hear. This is a tribute to matpat who hosted game theory, and they put this in since hes leaving youtube to spend more time with his family.
51:07 the way Kissy glances at Poppy when she says "You killed Huggy", and then hugs her leg, it's clear she is distraught from Huggy's demise. Nice touch.
I mean all we did was collapsing the walkway. Huggy was just the unfortunate one ending up bend over a railing then sliding off to his doom. We could have ended in the same spot without plot armor
1:23:13 I just realized the respawn messages have become more negative; Earlier chapters are hopeful like "Isn't he wonderful?" "Rejoice! The prototype has saved us!" "Get up". Now, dead gets you messages like "Revenge must come", "The research must stay buried", "You shouldn't have come", etc
This chapter is basically a different in a way that it introduces so many mechanics and gives an entirely different experience, basically goes to show the improvement of quality ever since the beginning of this franchise.
That entire scene of the dog who was strung up half eaten, was impossibly disturbing. Then the Smiling Critters, coming to finish the rest and then control his body like a bunch of parasites, just sealed the absolute misery of that thing. I have to say that was my favorite of the horror from this chapter!
finally a horror game of "cute animal creatures that are mfing souls of kids" that are finally as creepy and horrifying as they are meant to be (cough cough this is a hit on fnaf sb cough cough)
Gonna make it worse when that happens you can hear him gargling so hes still alive and hey mayve survived the fall so basically, he never died when we saw him get filled with the other smiling critters
People have noted that DogDay (the strung-up dog) shares a voice actor with Harley Sawyer a.k.a. The Doctor. If it's intentional, and not just a case of reusing voice actors, then The Doctor absolutely deserved it.
@@Bobmarley-uq7yr wow, smt that was TOTALLY not said a hundred times already, so original... seriously, the ruin dlc and help wanted 2 came out since then, can you guys change disk already ? security breach is like one game in a whole franchise bruh and poppy playtime had a different concept than fnaf, the only thing similar being dead kids, there is no ghost or spirits here
Which is odd considering that they killed indiscriminately in the "hour of joy". They didn't care about who was responsible then, but maybe they grew some morals in the however many years since it happened. Some I say, some. Since they are still more than happy to try to kill you.
They were probably under the prototype's control at that time, especially since kissy missy also attacked which is against her character.@@ventusargentum9957
@@ventusargentum9957i wonder how did they cover everything else aside from dumping the bodies in a pit, did noone question why a mass amount of people went missing which all were last located at that facility, no police, national gaurd, or a few people out of curiosity. My guess for these question are it is a really smalltown despite its popularity. Also maybe im missing something but why do they need to eat, could they die if they dont or is this just a extreme urge like that 9ne romance movie that was set in a zombie apocalypse
@@Frostknight231 Idk if we'll ever find out how nobody noticed. My best guess is that they hired people with little to no other connections whenever they could so that they could disappear people w/out many noticing. Maybe the PR team covered it up, I honestly don't know.
My guess would be that they are afraid and want to scare him away, so they don't have to oppose him. After all he beat and killed all the previous monsters.
Maybe someone has said this already amongst the comments, but at 27:50 the radio says (in reverse): "8-8-1995. You were supposed to be here. Why weren't you here? You missed the event. You missed the meeting. You missed the party. You have no right to be here." I guess it makes sense when directed at an employee who managed to survive the Hour of Joy.
@@bradbooker4478 Anytime I hear audio reversed, I always want to know what it is saying. In this case, I just took it into Audacity, which allows you to reverse audio.
Mob Games really took full advantage of their premise. The Hour of Joy Tape is probably one of the best horror game scenes in recent memory. I mean yeah, we knew the employees were dead but the eeriness of seeing the vhs tape slideshow is pretty unerving for a game that lots of people thought was more of a kid horror game. What a huge glow up for the series
"glow up" 😭, also yeah ur right and I'm excited asf for chapter 4, hope it's even scarier cus honestly it's frustrating how nothing has genuinely scared, disturbed or really creeped me out since like early 2020s when analog horror was trendier. that feeling of chills you get when watching a horror movie/game is when you know it's really good lol
@@adamkaban8507Well it was kind of a bs death tbh. She was well within view, then the game just decided she was close enough and might as well kill him. 😂
Poppy playtime really said "nah, I'm tired of elsagate poppy playtime bullsh*t let's make our new game scary as hell so they can't disguise themselves as family friendly no more"
Last I recall, the protag was being chased by an eleven-foot-tall monster that can fit through vents in chapter 1 and a stretching spider monster in chapter 2. There is nothing "family friendly" about Poppy Playtime. I'm still having nightmares. This chapter only continues it.
To be fair doesn't help most parents these days kinda neglect their kid and put the technology into their hands instead of being a parent and interacting with their own child. So kids kinda get brainwashed by that garbage and addicted to just doom scrolling and video watching.... I know this first hand since my nephew was like that until I got him interested in Yugioh and managed to make him sit down with me at the table on the weekends and play cards for a hour or two well I talked with him and taught him how to play and read the cards. It honestly was just nerdy stuff, but it still was more interactive and made him problem solve and read rather than getting lost on the tablet all day.... that and it gave him a new respect for his trading cards like Pokemon and stuff that he'd (like any kid) would neglect and ruin without realizing how to play or their value.... Idk man. Its just kinda sad when you've been in that situation yourself with family and all you can feel is frustration and annoyance because these kids get neglected yet you can't say anything because 1 its family, and two you know how they are so even if you snapped at them for being shit parents they'd just be petty and stubborn so the most you can do is try and be a positive interaction for em rather than parents being lazy or not knowing how to bond with their kid.... its Kinda why im scared of being a parent. Im not sure a massive dork like myself would be cracked up for it. 😅
Can I also just say that Miss Delight's level was genuinely disturbing? The idea that during the Hour of Joy, Miss Delight tried to protect the children during it but because of the Prototype she was driven to kill them and then forced to eat them in order to survive? That line of her wanting to see the kids but being denied because she would’ve killed them is just disturbing to think about. I also want to really applaud the designers and animators on their work with CatNap, they really have an amazing talent for animating softer and more flexible models in a way that feels really fresh and is so satisfying to watch. The way CatNap stalks you and just glides over the floor is incredible to watch and the details of how skeletal his body is and how his tail swishes like an actual cat hunting does was such a cool detail. The way Miss Delight also moves is really cool, even though she's not as flexible or soft like Huggy she still moves in a way that's kinda springy and wirey that just conveys that feeling of her ready to pounce on you any second that felt reminiscent of the Nurses from Silent Hill. DogDay was also a really cool chase scene, the fact the little critters just crawl inside him and start puppeting him made me feel legitimately itchy and that chase scene was almost just as claustrophobic as Huggy Wuggy's chase was. Massive props to Poppy Playtime's creators, I'd say this chapter was well worth the wait
Just one thing, I don’t think she ate the kids. Collecting all the notes which there is like 5,6 ish basically tells you she ate the other miss delights, whom you see during the hour of joy tape. EDIT I hadn’t watched the entire video before I made this comment but point stands I think
@nooboverlord2136 Ah fair enough, that also makes a lot of sense. I was thinking about how at the end the bodies were eaten after the Hour of Joy. It makes more sense that she ate her fellow Miss Delight teachers
We don't know how long it's been since they were made into toys but specific toys like Mommy Long Legs and Miss Delight were originally kids who got older as adults and supervised kids. They hated the employees but knew that the kids are just like them as fellow victims to a malicious company. They were still human inside and were used to their lives down in Playcare. So when the massacre happened and they were isolated from the outer world, they became insane from hunger and isolation.
Maybe she killed and ate other human workers in the school, I doubt there was only toy teachers, at least some workers had to be there in case of emergency or simply for observation + in the tape she said that Prototype didn't let her see the children, so I guess she didn't eat the children, but other workers of playcare (I also don't think she ate other miss delight because in the note she said Barb was with her when Catnap opened the door, in case if Barb is the other miss delight)
40:02 I just watched this part and I was waiting for IGP to get that the pig was naming the other animals in the franchise, a cow, a chicken, an elephant..... a unicorn.... She was eating her friends, it's why she asks if *you* want to be friends after she says she's still hungry. She wants to eat *you*
I like how I didn't realize that... But the "you want to be friends" part made me think she wanted to eat you... It was a gut feeling but I didn't know why other than the tone of the question...
What I love most about poppy playtime is they don't resort to cheap jump scares to be scary it has horrific scenery and atmosphere just knowing something is there but not knowing when it will strike is horrifying
Gotta say. I love that they took their time making this one, since it really shows in the quality of the game. The tension build up is great, the story is engaging, the ambience and area’s look great
@@TH_Sofawell you clearly have no idea about any of the development process. the nfts were long before chapter 3 was in production, and the multiplayer game probably interfered with chapter 3’s development at first, but they eventually had 2 separate teams working on both games
@TH_Sofa dude the nft thing was bad, but they did that for like less than a week and that was way before even chapter 2 was out, it would have zero impact on this
@@andrewdiaz3529 "ah technucally" it was announced like late december/january and finally all the earnings and shutdown was in May, august was when they announced the teaser for Ch3. I mean in all they're pretty close timelined for stress and effort mix-ups But upon some further reading, I can suppose some of the nft things wasn't an effort misallocation by virtue of intended focus, but it certainly was a monetary loss lol.
For 15:20 I'd assume they have their colorful branding everywhere to keep the happy and joy impression? Even on the employee's if that makes sense, so it doesn't just seem like a mask at the surface and once you go beneath the surface it's just grey and concrete lol. It could also double up incase you want to film a promotional video of the operations that ensure the kids safety and such. Just my take!
Both this and Deltarune have proven to me that episodic games should be done by Indie devs more. It gives them time to make content that rivals AAA games in terms of content and depth.
I feel the exact same way. It keeps replaying through my head throughout the day and I guess that's good storyline if my skin crawls and it's sticking with me.
@@CoaxedToBeHeard i replayed the video like 3 times on that part for some reason,i dont feel bad i just wanna check if theres bugs under my skin,or possibly those demonic tiny beasts, now im wondering wtf they did inside of him
I. . . wow. That was a huge step up from the last couple of chapters. The last two had their moments, but they felt more like. . . tutorials? Yeah. Like they were teaching you how things worked and had a coat of horror game paint on it in some aspects. This was _way_ different. This was the moment where they said: "Ok, you know how the mechanics work. . . now the *_fun_* begins."
I love the editing done that changes how IGP sounds, as if hes actually there. Such as when he's in caves and you can hear the echo, or when he wears the gas mask and aounds like hes talking throught it. Job well done!
@@Frostknight231 Cats will do that purr sound as they "play" with their food. Catnap knew you werent dead. But he wanted to keep playing. And if you pay attention, he is stalking you throughout, watching you, stalking you. He is "playing" with you, his food.
While I have mixed opinions over the series as a whole, I do think the developers did a great job with the third chapter. I also appreciate just how disturbing the "Hour of Joy" tape was. It was well executed and reminded me of some of my favorite analog horror videos.
Nice to see a company that actually takes the money from their success and invest it into new chapters. Very smart idea and since the turn around is relatively quick only improving chapters as they go it keeps it fresh without making you wait too long. They might have perfected a new marketing strategy for games.
This guy goes through the effort of editing his microphone while having the gas mask and echos and such. So well done on such a great game. This is why I watch IGP
IGP (Adrian, if you will), I wanna thank you for the years and entertainment you've given us all. Ive dealt with a lot the last three years and finally got it back together, and whether you know it or not, you played a big part in that. Love you brotha and keep pumping out the awesome vids! Dincerely Thomas, 20, Oregon
Thank you so much for the awesome message and tip, Thomas. I'm very glad to hear you're back together! You made it through yourself, don't give me any credit haha. Happy for you man! (I'm sorry for the late response, I wish these kinds of messages stood out more in the massive pool of notifications. I missed quite a few of these)
My favorite thing about this entire chapter is how it doesn't hold back on telling you: They MURDERED the children. It literally shows their bodies along the floor, as if to MOCK you.
Uhm, no, those were all the employees that worked at the factory, the tape with Miss Delight talking to Barb (her makeshift weapon) reveals that the children are fine, Catnap even protected them from her by not revealing where the Children were so she could see (kill) them. Not to mention he answered "yes" when she asked if the children were safe... and this was after The Hour of Joy.
@@ChaoticJester I'm pretty sure any children that survived (as in not turned into experiments) are not "fine" in any sense of the word. It's already been 10 years. Besides being completely traumatized from witnessing the massacre from The Hour of Joy, they either died from starvation or became cannibals that survived by eating human flesh. They're also unlikely to still be children anymore unless some immortality/fountain of youth mumbo jumbo came into play.
@@chapacoka Still, it clearly reveals that no children were killed during The Hour of Joy if Catnap revealed they were safe when asked if that was the case by Miss Delight.
@@ChaoticJester apparently in the VHS that shows the hour of joy that Poppy showed the main character Apparently you could see that at the very end that in the orphanage you can clearly see catnap walking over the corpses of kids while one kid was sitting on the staircase and that catnap killed that kid on the spot of the stairs they we're sitting on with the red smoke So apparently it wasn't just the scientists, the employees, or even tye bystanders, it was also the children as well Everyone was brutally slaughtered in the way of the beings that are the toys Making the main character who is an ex-employee who got called in sick didn't witness all this and got sent a notes and came back years later Only to finally find out that every employee they knew or even talked with or got to know or not...was just dead, as well as their corpses being eaten to sustain life for these things
I felt bad for catnap he got burned and electrocuted alive at the same time and he didn’t get enough screen time or a classic chase I would have loved if it was a chase scene and then he jumps at you like in the cutscene for the boss fight all major threats deserve them
@jurassicsurvivor2433 i meant figuratively he kills everyone who doesn't believe in his religion and does horrible stuff to them and in the end his actions cause him to die
You not being able to run after having passed out from the gas at 32:30 makes sense bc when your dreaming most ppl feep they cant run or move fast, almost like their moving through water.
I loved the first two chapters, but this chapter was exceptional. It took the SHARPEST turn into creepy and disturbing in a way that I seriously didn't expect out of this game, having seen the first two chapters. They had some scary moments in their own right, but this chapter was just phenomenal in how it set up tension and its creepy moments. The PT-inspired bit was seriously *chef's kiss*, I've seen that done in so many obnoxious ways but this game pulled it off beautifully. I am so insanely impressed with this chapter and the game overall. Also, one of my favorite things about watching you is how immersive you make the gameplay by changing how your voice sounds depending on the area you're in. Echoing in the vents or large rooms, sounding tinny and close by while wearing the mask, etc. The first video I ever watched of yours, that's one of the first things I noticed, and it's one of the things that made me keep watching you. It makes it feel like I'm watching you actually be IN the game, as if I'm just watching a movie or something. It's a really simple but effective touch that adds something special to the gameplay that I don't often see, and it's something I always enjoy about watching your videos.
I was literally thinking “is indie gonna upload this or nah?” Then the man finally did it. I’m gonna need my popcorn for this and maybe some therapy afterwards
The devs improved so much from the first chapter, it's amazing. From seemingly regular viral mascot horror with good moments to this absolute greatness in level and sound design and overall well done buildup to chapter 4 which seems to be the final one in this story.
1:08:46 I find it funny how he thought it was normal for Hoppy to even been able to tell him not to look at his feet since it's suppose to be a recorded voice. 😂
What I personally think happened: that bastard Elliot somehow transplanted the souls of those children into all of those monsters: Huggy Wuggy, Catnap, those mini stuff dolls; basically 5 Nights at Freddy's, but to a much greater, terrible degree. The Prototype somehow gained control over them, and ordered the slaughter, perhaps in revenge to how it was treated. But the power it gained corrupted it, just like how power corrupts mankind. Now, no one is safe.
This is basically confirmed lmao. Literally all the toys are humans. That’s why poppy has such life like eyes and why huggy has a second set of teeth with human molars. Plus catnaps whole human torso
wait a minute i think i know how the prototype has the ability to control them cause the toys were made from his progress and so maybe a piece of him is in all the toys so he has control over them
Elliot didn't kill the kids Harley Sawyer the one responsible for the whole bigger bodies department did it. Harley saw what a desperate grieving father did when he created poppy who was said to be Elliott's daughter (adopted) and after Poppy successfully creation, Harley got evil and wanted to make bigger toys with a purpose so they wouldn't have to hire any more employees. That's why Poppy blames herself she said because of her creation the horrors began
This is getting rly close to feeling a lot like the BIOSHOCK series in terms of twists, turns, and confusing world building/lore. Hell, i feel its inspired by it a little, seeing as Bioshock 1 was a city at the bottom of the ocean, infinite was a city in the sky, and Poppy playtime its an orphanage in the depths of the earth. cant wait to have to complete game when all chapters are released
I was waiting for someone else other than 8bitryan to cover the new chapter, this was an amazing step forward from chapter 2. And I love that they have added so much actual dark lore and blood to the game, it feels like it's become what I wanted out of Bendy, where they finally embraced that they are a horror game and can have these horrifying elements of blood
Igp I couldn't appreciate you more. youve gotten me through countless hours of recovery from surgeries and I just can't thank you enough for constant uploads.
41:02 This specific tape is probably the most dark peice of recording I have ever heard, is it just me or is Sam going feel like the most spine chilling thing ever?
I really want The Prototype to actually have a good design. The rest of them are a bit too carried by the sound effects, and CatNap is just big and strange, kind of anthropomorphic cat with a cliché grin... i want The Prototype to be unnervingly terrifying, the thought of it being made of needles holds so much potential and i'm looking forward to it a lot.
I feel really bad for the main character he just wanted to know what happened to his friends and his co-workers that hoping any would survive but in the end nobody survive when he saw the tape with his own eyes...i can believe the MC would be probably...in shocked and crying but doesn't want to show it
The thing I find most disturbing about this whole thing (which is saying a lot considering) is that Playtime Co. decided to distribute harmful toys to the general public KNOWING what they would do to the kids. It has gone beyond just harming the orphans at that point and really demonstrates just how insanely messed up and cruel they really are.
17:07 Yeah I heard “orphanage” and immediately thought “Bondrewd is that you-“ All you need to know is that Bondrewd (from Made In Abyss) used orphans for his experiments and like all of em died, save 1 And I bet that’s what Playtime Co also probably did Edit: Oh. Oh no.
Not gonna lie, this game'a lore is just as unnerving as Bondrewd's ways..... Basically turning kids into monsters from the get go,TESTING them. Like the Critters and Catnap. Or any creatures. THEY ARE MADE OF FLESH. They are lobotomized, animalized bodies of the former infantish owner of themselfes, who got turned into the company's testing and staging ground, with a plastic cover-up,with the yearn for flesh.
Wait Bondrewd is the purple guy (Auagahga I did the thing) with the tail and turned that one character into that suitcase with a fleshy, pulsating hole on it, right? Forgot what the living suitcase did but iirc it was some sort of battery or energy source, I still need to watch/read MiA so that's just my guess.
Honestly, that dialogue about the orphanage is pretty sad. The only questionable part about the whole thing was it being underground. The idea and concept and premise seem so wholesome to give orphaned children a sense of familial bond while maintaining a child's innocence. Laughably, this place would also make an amazing bomb shelter because it establishes a healthy environment for children to grow up. If the building wasn't so gritty and you didn't see a bunch of murderous drones running amok, people genuinely would have been comfortably in support of this idea. A shame that this all was backed by people being fused into machines and being brainwashed into mascots.
Wow, a mascot horor game that finally (as far as I've seen) actually develops the horror part properly. Jumpscares aren't truly horror but a cheap gimmic that triggers a nervous reaction more than inspiring actual fear or a disturbed feeling
With this one, it draws you out to make you THINK it’ll play into its old tactics, or well known ones. But it just scraps that and makes the horror something you have to wait for, get anxious for.
horrifying thing at 40:05, pickypiggy was describing their friends..elephant: bubbaphant, unicorn: candycorn, chicken: kickinchicken, and she asks to be your friend after she says shes still hungry. i love this detail and its scary.
Reminds me of the "Welcome to Rapture" scene in the first Bioshock where you take the pod deeper into the city. The music, the visuals, Mob definitely took inspiration from Bioshock and I love it.
This turned straight BIOSHOCK! Like gosh I feel as though ollie is atlas just instructing us through Rapture to do his bidding. The whole underground structure is like Rapture underwater. 😮💨😮💨😮💨👏🏼👏🏼
I think I've said this before, but I really appreciate all of the tiny details in these videos. Like how your voice is muffled every time you put on the gas mask. It really makes me more immersed when I watch these than with any other horror game playthroughs I've watched.
I’m calling it, the ending is you waking up after inhaling gas when you’re working right before you die in the “dream” and then after weeks of recovery and going back to normal life you hear the prototype say something or laugh
the lore behind the blood is that people who were sick went to doctors, got sent to playtime's lab and were turned into tiny toys and got killed by the bigger toys aka children turned into huggy wuggy, catnap etc.
No? Why... It's there because of the Hour of Joy i.e. the Slaughtering of all the adults and children present in the factory/on the factory grounds that day.
There is PLENTY of lore in this chapter that we gotten than we got in the last two chapters, just have to connect the dots. Its obvious that the company used children to make these living toys. Catnap was one of them, his real name was Theodore Grambell, his age is unknown but he's exp. 1188. The Prototype is technically the one in control of everything, and the most dangerous and scarily the smartest experiments made. He made a laser pointer out of an alarm clock to disable the camera in its cell. But this factory was all just a facade. Nothing happy and good came from this toy factory. Just children being used as test subjects to create living toys. The hour of joy showing them all rebelling against the staff and scientists for what they done. It their moment of joy, finally ending all the suffering. And within a span of 10 years, all the bodies were consumed.
Maybe poppy is actually the bad one and the prototype is good. The prototype kept poppy put away for a reason. I mean the outside world has never seen these things and the prototype is the security that keeps that from happening. Poppy also seems to know everything about the facility in a way only an adult would. She's using the MC to do her bidding. Kill off all of the security measures. Idk maybe I'm over thinking it.
I love how he keeps saying he doesn’t understand the lore, yet continuously ignores half the information being given by the lore then complains why something doesn’t make sense that it explained an hour ago
I love how IGP will mess around with the sound of his voice to fit either a gas mask muffle or a large echoed enviorment. It's a little thing like that, that keeps bringing me back.
The hype talk for catnap on how he lives for the hunt is pretty cool, its almost like the Kryl from "Gears of War", like how any piece of darkness can be lethal, I wish more games took note of GoW "kryl" it was a horrific thought of a monster
Reminds me of the mannerisms of gonomes from EZ 2. They’d stalk and patrol areas if there were disturbances, fight anything that either got in their way or that outright attacked them, and ate corpses to not only heal, but also gain something of a stamina boost
You didn't end up in the compactor from the train crash - CatNap grabbed you after the crash and dragged you to another area, and dropped you down a trash chute. That part is easy to miss though. I love how naive Indie is going into this. Makes the experience so fresh. And by that, I mean he's not like every other horror YTer and obsessively waits for updates and lore on every game. That said, I wish he would have taken some time to watch all of the tapes to learn more of the story. (Edit: He realised that he missed some. It's okay!) I don't trust Ollie one bit and I'm convinced he's the prototype. I'm getting serious FNAF Ruin vibes. But this whole storyline is horrifying and disturbing.
The amount of work that goes into the retro style cut scenes is great! Also, I love how you allow the cut scenes to play out in its entirety before playing the game. You’re a true gaming legend IGP! Keep up the amazing videos! I applaud you sir…..I applaud you! (Standing ovation)
Oh shit! I’m glad you’ve continued to play this game. Been away from TH-cam for a while but I came back to enjoy a quality IGP vid. Keep it up dude! Great work as usual! :)
This chapter to me was the best out of the three so far! you can tell they took their time with this chapter with the variety of environments, the story, puzzles, enemies, and animations. I wasn't bored through the entire chapter and honestly, I was just on the edge of my seat the whole time. I'm fully invested in this game and I'm excited to see what they do in chapter 4 and what happens to Kissy Missy and the end of the prototype!
incredibly impressive how far poppy playtime has come. had a rough start with the nfts and the "family friendly horror" elsagate yt kids type bullshit, but the foundation for an amazing product has always been there and im glad the real spooky shit is finally kicking in. i really like the smiling friends, they have a very good uncanny valley factor! humans naturally despise distorted faces, especially smiling ones. and dogday was just…. omg. that was fucked up to watch, mega ew, 10/10. the mechanics seem well-executed. miss delight is a very classic weeping angels trope and imo it never gets old. sight is one of our most relied upon senses, so naturally taking that away or restricting it tends to set off a sort of fight-or-flight prey fear instinct. The big “boss fight” against catnap was a little much but the end was really cool. catnap thought he was being saved by his god, he was on his knees. that betrayal had me surprised too. i imagine catnap served his purpose and thus was no longer worth keeping around. the prototype obviously doesn’t really gaf about anyone, even its fellow creations, seeing as how it did orchestrate mass slaughter. can’t wait to see what happens next; rip kissy missy.
The echo of your voice when you're in a cavernous area and the muffling when you put the mask on is REALLY neat lil thing that adds atmosphere to the whole game
10/10
I commented the same thing thinking nobody else noticed. So glad I wasn't the only one that noticed!
He has done it in a few videos now and I agree it's a super nice touch. For a listener experience I give it a 10/10
I remember when AwesomeCrunch did that in some of his Subnautica videos, such a simple and fun bit of editing

51:07 the way Kissy glances at Poppy when she says "You killed Huggy", and then hugs her leg, it's clear she is distraught from Huggy's demise. Nice touch.
And yet she isn't hostile against you, like she's sad but she knows it was necessary.
its even more sad considering Huggy could have been a child also kissy so huggy could have been kissys friend when they were human

I mean all we did was collapsing the walkway. Huggy was just the unfortunate one ending up bend over a railing then sliding off to his doom. We could have ended in the same spot without plot armor
Nah it was just the animation playing differently I seen different gameplays and she doesn’t do this all the time

True
This chapter is basically a different in a way that it introduces so many mechanics and gives an entirely different experience, basically goes to show the improvement of quality ever since the beginning of this franchise.
Really liked the first chapter, second chapter I thought was kinda goofy, and this chapter seems really really good
And its more american

Very clear Portal 2 influences as well, what with the underground testing facility and using your Grab Pack as a way of jumping around in this one.

@@CrazyK-cp5hiyeah. That’s what it sounds like.
Last I recall, the protag was being chased by an eleven-foot-tall monster that can fit through vents in chapter 1 and a stretching spider monster in chapter 2. There is nothing "family friendly" about Poppy Playtime. I'm still having nightmares. This chapter only continues it.
@@CrazyK-cp5hiThey were talking about the Monsters Designs and names. Huggy Wuggy and Mommy Long Legs can relatively easy pass as being for kids
The teachers were replaced by the ms delights.

@@ChaoticJester apparently in the VHS that shows the hour of joy that Poppy showed the main character

Everyone was brutally slaughtered in the way of the beings that are the toys
Making the main character who is an ex-employee who got called in sick didn't witness all this and got sent a notes and came back years later

12:58. I got Bioshock and Andrew Ryan vibes from that.
1:36:35 It's nice to see a bug.
Bendy vibes for me lol
Definitely Bioshock
Bioshock
Reminds me of the "Welcome to Rapture" scene in the first Bioshock where you take the pod deeper into the city. The music, the visuals, Mob definitely took inspiration from Bioshock and I love it.
This turned straight BIOSHOCK! Like gosh I feel as though ollie is atlas just instructing us through Rapture to do his bidding. The whole underground structure is like Rapture underwater. 😮💨😮💨😮💨👏🏼👏🏼
LET ME HEAR YOUR WARRRCRYYYY!!!!!… cough cough the music plays shortly after .. terrifying creations come into the scene …

"YOU CAN DIE IN A CUTSCENE?!"
I think I've said this before, but I really appreciate all of the tiny details in these videos. Like how your voice is muffled every time you put on the gas mask. It really makes me more immersed when I watch these than with any other horror game playthroughs I've watched.
Glad you enjoy that stuff! Thanks for the kind words.
One thing I love about IGP is the way he edits his voice to make the video more atmospheric. Love your vids man!
I love how he keeps saying he doesn’t understand the lore, yet continuously ignores half the information being given by the lore then complains why something doesn’t make sense that it explained an hour ago
right? hes kinda stupid
I noticed they gave a nod to P.T.
The beta game that scared literally everyone but never got created. It was cool to see.
I love how IGP will mess around with the sound of his voice to fit either a gas mask muffle or a large echoed enviorment. It's a little thing like that, that keeps bringing me back.
that blood vessel fact was actually shocking, like wow
I don’t get scared from horror games very often but this…this is a whole new level of discomfort and anxiety. I love it
The hype talk for catnap on how he lives for the hunt is pretty cool, its almost like the Kryl from "Gears of War", like how any piece of darkness can be lethal, I wish more games took note of GoW "kryl" it was a horrific thought of a monster
Reminds me of the mannerisms of gonomes from EZ 2. They’d stalk and patrol areas if there were disturbances, fight anything that either got in their way or that outright attacked them, and ate corpses to not only heal, but also gain something of a stamina boost
The battery bug made me laugh so hard, I was not expecting the battery to just blow up like that
"Poppy Coke" sounds like the best narcotic ever.
1:53:58 "I can't imagine my kids doing that" Dude, what part of ANY of this game says that it's for children?!
It's okay!)
I don't trust Ollie one bit and I'm convinced he's the prototype. I'm getting serious FNAF Ruin vibes. But this whole storyline is horrifying and disturbing.
Watching the little toy come towards him, shooting it with the flare and saying “fuck off” was great😂😂😂
They really leaned into the horror aspect of the game, I love it.
Dangggg that intro video was horrifying. The cartoon aspect added to the, “it’s not gonna be spooky” but it was haha!! Excited for this one!
incredibly impressive how far poppy playtime has come. had a rough start with the nfts and the "family friendly horror" elsagate yt kids type bullshit, but the foundation for an amazing product has always been there and im glad the real spooky shit is finally kicking in.
i really like the smiling friends, they have a very good uncanny valley factor! humans naturally despise distorted faces, especially smiling ones. and dogday was just…. omg. that was fucked up to watch, mega ew, 10/10. the mechanics seem well-executed. miss delight is a very classic weeping angels trope and imo it never gets old. sight is one of our most relied upon senses, so naturally taking that away or restricting it tends to set off a sort of fight-or-flight prey fear instinct.
