Still alive Ben just got a commissary today for $75 a month I am getting there finally 🤣🤣 I will absolutely be open in the next month or so but already have things lined up even before having the commissary with factories in town and yes I will record it thank you so much love you brother 👍👍👍
A partition between your hand sink and first hot pan is a must. No smoking within 15 ft. Of your cart. And bleach bucket should be below and away from all food/tongs
the Virginia Department of Health is Hell to deal with about regulations .They require a Commissary and I was told to do ''the Leg Work'' to find one. Any suggestions ?
Absolutely. Howdy! Great question. I've done a lot of work on commissaries and although everyone's situation isn't the same... I cover every single option there is. A. how to get them for free B. how to get them fast but for $ C. how to profit from a commissary (along with some other commissary insights) If you go here: learnhotdogs.com/?s=commissary you'll find a page full of articles, but skim through the titles and find what you want to know about. Then at the bottom, you'll see I have 3 more pages of articles. You certainly don't need all of them but as I said... I try to cover everyone's situation. Hope that helps.
Got my cart and getting all my licenses and permits..had to start small though and my cart only has one burner. I'm hoping that doesnt make it hard for cooking and topping gs
Congrats Bobby! It's not the best setup but will work. Just remember, you can always modify with more burners or add a table top burner with a big pan. Image here: learnhotdogs.com/broke
"Hot boxing like I was in high school in the bathroom." 🤣🤣🤣 I've been known to do that too. My husband and I do a kind of "chuckwagon" to feed our high school band at competitions, and I've been known to walk across the street to sneak a smoke.
You Done ✔️ a Fantastic job it's A Good 👍 Business You Have Your Independence and can Work on Your Own Time and You Have A Wonderful variety Congratulations You,ve Done Well and your a valuable assett to the community As I am from England I Love My 🇺🇸 American Hot Dogs Especially 🌭 the onions, mustard and Tomatoe Kutchup I need to try the hot sauce though
It looks great. If you are paying $4/lb (like we do in California) for your 1/4# dogs and factor in the cost of buns, foil, condiments..., then I would raise my price a dollar. It is easier to start a bit high than to raise your price once you get established. If you are working by yourself, then I might suggest tightening up your setup. It looks a bit spread out and that means a whole lot more steps over the course of the day. With the Covid, you might want to rethink customers handling the ketchup and mustard pumps.
I can't figure out how to set up the internal part on my new hot dog cart. It didn't come with instructions on how to use the water pumps and faucet. And put it together or Whatever. Help please. I don't know what to do.

Good info always ~ thanks
what is the white
meat cooler name brand and where did you purchase it from
I'm not sure. I don't remember.
Nice setup! Quick question seen at 15:06 of video. Why is there tape covering the vent and burner lighting holes by the steam tables controller knobs?
Bad wind and sometimes it's easier to cover those.

Great points Mark 😀
Really nice setup!
Thanks!
Hey Ben just curious, do you have a pic of your setup?
Tons of videos here on my setups depending on what I'm doing but nothing recent. Did a charity even recently but no pics.
I can't figure out how to set up the internal part on my new hot dog cart. It didn't come with instructions on how to use the water pumps and faucet. And put it together or Whatever. Help please. I don't know what to do.
Email me at ben@hotdogcartstore.com and I'll send you a walkthru.
Do you have any videos from venders in Canada?
We do over at learnhotdogs.com Not sure where but we have many vendors in Canada and have interviewed them live before.
Nice hat!
🤠
Just sub... thaxs
Thank you!
A deep 1/6 or a deep 1/3 pan will work perfect for the utensils 🥰
Great idea!!
Hotbox! LOL
Hey Ben is that a BIGDOG? the sinks look like they are in a different place from the schematic I have. Thanks for the video!
No, that's not one of our carts.
LOVE >IT< 💓🤩💖
Thank you Beth!
So what impact has the pandemic had on dog venders?
A huge impact. In over a decade I've never seen vendors do better.
$2 dogs. Nice
What about the cigarette?
💨
Cigarette! You should not smoke near your cart. Walk away, smoke and come back. Wash your hands and rinse your mouth.
Yup!
