Blazing Saddles was a 1974 film. Richard Pryor was a screen writer on the film. It was his idea to use the language used in the movie.
The line about KC gays, comes from an unspoken "solution" to the "gay problem" the military had in its earlier days. There were two cities that the american military dropped off men who were found or thought to be homosexual. Kansas City if you were brought by plane or vehicle, San Francisco if you were out to sea. That is why he referred to KC, meaning very very gay. So gay you couldn't hide it from the military😂😂
Hit 200k today. Thank you for all the knowledge and nuggets you had thrown my way over the last months. Started with 14k last year 2023, God bless America ❤️🇺🇲
Hello, how do you achieve such biweekly returns? As a single parent i haven't been able to get my own house due to financial struggles, but my faith in God remains strong.
I'm inspired.
Please spill some sugar about the monthly income stuff you mentioned
It's Elizabeth Regina Nelsen doing she's changed my life. A BROKER- like her is what you need.
I'm favoured financially, Thank you Jesus $32,000 weekly profit regardless of how bad it gets on the economy.
Her top notch guidance and expertise on digital market changed the game for me.
Mel Brooks is comic genius.
"Little BASTARD shot me in the ass." Is my favorite line.
Gutted they didn't include the sheriff holding himself hostage in the compilation. That's worth a reaction on its own.
Richard Pryor help write some of the script for this movie. I believe he was supposed to play the sheriff but for some reason didn't.
pretty sure the studio wouldn't finance it with him as the star because of drug abuse issues
“You've got to remember that these are just simple farmers. These are people of the land. The common clay of the new West. You know - morons.”
The guy who played Mongo was an NFL player back in the 60s-70s with the Lions. He had a pretty good acting career.
Alex Karras .
You guys are going to get in trouble with the PC Police for this one.
Absolutely the best. This, together with Airplane, is one of the best comedies ever made. Another good one is The Gods Must Be Crazy.
Sweet. I was hoping for them to react to classic Mel Brooks movies last time and here we are😁😁
Wow! This brings back so many memories.
One of the greatest comedy films
It was released in 1974. Watching highly edited clips ruins the experience.
Best Mel Brooks and one of the greatest comedies of all time!😂
Good old days
I LOVE HOW YOU GUYS ARE REVIEWING MOVIES
I was called Mongo because my wife's name is Candy.
I was sailing on USS Antietam in the Persian Gulf , and one of our helicopter pilots was LT Montgomery . His call sign was Mongo . One day at sea we were conducting an all hands training on handling fire hoses . LT Montgomery took the fire hose and shouted " Mongo Strong " .
Young Frankenstein next.
Co-written by Richard Pryor
Young Frankenstein is Brooks' best movie. IMOP.
My favorite comedy movie of all time
This movie and 'Tropic Thunder' are 2 movies they could never ever make today. LOL
Actually both Blazing Saddles and Tropic Thunder could still be made today Mel even said "We could not make it back then but we did anyway," the trick is to ignore the fools that do not understand satire.
You should react to ‘Animal House’ with John Belushi.
Mel Brooks is legend
Richard Pryor was supposed to be the black Sheriff, but they couldn’t get him insured, can you imagine Richard Pryor and Steve Martin in this
They really hit the lingo down from 1870 in America. Even down to racial lingo. Sadly, some were still used in 1974, when this movie was released.
As someone whos stayed in Kansas City, I can agree.
These compilations of funniest clips of movies are uniquely entertaining! 😂👍
Now I want to watch it again, lol.
One of the leading townsmen the one who says "We don't want the Irish" was in another all time classic years later. Playing the other millionaire Jeffrey Lebowski in "The Big Lebowski"
Watch space balls it Mel Brooks production and the governor is Mel brooks
The two blokes to the left couldn’t be more uptight. Loosen up lads, it’s only bloody comedy for Christsake
Too many people see the movie as racist, when in reality, it was making fun of racists.
Duck 3:16 Crucker Crucker.
OK, the video edited the first N word, but let the second one go by.. Max is not enjoying this at all! LOL
My favorite movie
An absolutely hilarious and utterly ridiculous movie.
Mongo not know, Mongo only pawn in life’s game.
And nothing from Madeleine Kahn-doesn’t even scratch the surface.
Lads who can't be bothered with research and bring on a right weirdo.
The film was co-written by Richard Pryor, and it shows.
Since you on Mel Brooks movies. Why not get to do spaceballs next.
You're 'office blokes'. How often do you go to the office? And what kind of office is that?
Without context, most of this isn't even remotely funny. Max was cringing at times or just laughing at the shock value jokes because he hasn't seen it.
Also, bleeping out the N-word in this movie is like bleeping out every 10th word lol
Trick store disguise
There's a lot more.
Great comedy and worst ending
They missed a few really funny lines
Edited out too much geez
Of course it's censored. Bullshit.
Yeah, it doesn't really work when censored. the movie makes it clear it makes fun of racists. On top of that, they chose the worst compilation to watch.
Hmm, too many quick editing & stitching in some of these compilation videos, thus some of the context is missing & thus no laughs by reactors where there should be laughs. But yeah, as Daz said, you just have to find the right compilation videos. This one was somewhat chaotic, cut at the wrong times in some places & thus so-so overall. A good editor would know where a joke scene starts & ends so that the viewer would comprehend it more. I never watched Blazing Saddles in the theater at release, only a few years later as reruns on television back in the 1970s. Cleavon died 18 years after but made a mark on his career in this movie.
10/06/24
It really doesn't do the movie justice. This compilation cuts like 80% of the movie and cuts dialog. I get not wanting to have the N bomb dropped, but the film is making fun of racists. This is a tone def reaction because you don't have context. There are like 50 compilations that are way better than this shit.
Blazing Saddles and The Producers, both by Mel Brooks, are the 2 greatest social satires ever made on film.
The History of the World is pretty good, too.
If I was forced to watch a Mel Brooks film it would be this or Spaceballs. I’d rather watch a Monty Python movie for the 150th time
