I still can’t stand to this day they made Nico and Honoka so similar in height to Marie when Marie’s height and body type is what keeps her unique and pushes her whole design with what martial art she uses and the outfit choices too (like platform shoes/heels to try and make up for her size difference) makes it feel like her height is significant to her design while theirs if anything gives more of the need for more suspension of disbelief to have it not feel out of place or confusing.
It’s a good point you’re making, but I don’t think Honoka and NiCO take anything away from Marie Rose. She’s still a very distinct and unique character to me, and also “the original one” to break the trend of big chested fighters in DOA, so she’ll always be special!
@@ULTIMa_Ivanov That’s fair but I guess look at it within a context that her size is used for more than just sales it’s utilised to make her whole character. Her fighting style is befitting someone of her size and she especially utilises more creative acrobatic choices for moves to even further highlight her size difference and the way her style is built to manoeuvre either herself or her opponent. It just felt like her size mattered to both her style, combat and even apparently her character given her insecurities on people looking down on her. I can’t say that creativity is shared with the other girls with that one quality and on top of the faces it feels like they’re grabbing at physical qualities Marie has for profit. I just feel it takes away from her since she’s now the shortest by an inch and is known as the flat girl rather than the token petite fighter I suppose. Not to mention the height only really lessening Nico and Honoka’s designs in my eyes only pushes it further given they don’t have the same creativity built around it nor backing it to make one of those ‘realistic fighting game’ players to use them as reasonings for why they shouldn’t be in doa. It makes it feel like lack of creativity and greed which in turn makes the design team just look bad overall which is why I feel like we’d be better off redesigning the two to be more of they’re individual characters even in the smallest of qualities like facial structure and height. If anything to keep the petite fighter the smallest by at least a decent amount to make Marie’s compensating make sense visually and character wise.
Official stats mean jack all to the actual portrayal of sizes, since the correlation is almost always never accurate. Kas/Aya aren't the petite japanese women tastes, because they are depicted to be bigger then their canonical height. I'd say they would be 5'7 at least. It's girls like MR that are appealing to that market who would be the ones that actually sit around the 5'2 area.
Not sure I suppose some people would claim ‘biological difference’ but I didn’t think it would be all that much especially for ninjas but it could also be cause he’s like 26 and they’re just freshly 18 and 19 after doa4. Perhaps if they were his age they might be taller than like 5’2?
@@СЕРГЕЙ_МАРКОВ_26 yeah that weird, i also i remember one day ( couple of months ago, like 3-4 months) some people said that in fact Rachel is the heaviest characters in the game , and they apparently "gave this weight" ( we know today) because of balancing issues , so yeah to be short it was to make the balancing of the characters more easier.🤔🤷

Yes, Chrsitie is the tallest woman - I also do find that character in-game models are not necessarily accurate when it comes to heights (for some reason!)

Only just recently i realized how short Kasumi and Ayane really are. They are really petite women. According to the japonese taste i guess.
