Can't believe i am agreeing with James on almost everything😮I look forward to the opinions and honesty from you both weekly. A wee bit fed up of the celebs with such significant dance experience.
Love your critique James, you make it easier to understand than the judges in my opinion.
I agree with James comments. I think Ellie would have had a slightly higher score if they had been later in the show when comparing her to other dances. Love your reviews xx
I can’t stop laughing. “I’m not gonna change my opinion”. Lol. It was perfect from James cause like he said he doesn’t care what people think and I found it hilarious. Definitely my favorite part of the video.
Well James changed his opinion on two men dancing together he was dead against that happening on the show.

James and I both agree on Nigel on every comments made and yes he’s my most favourite this year!!!
I danced for 15 years under Peggy spencer and samba was my nemesis for years. James critique was spot on. Definitely undermarked. With the judging I feel at times they score on progress not necessarily on the dance that week.
From a viewer standpoint, I thought a 7 was fair. It felt Ellie wasn't comfortable with the routine, too overpowered by Vito and trying to keep up. Maybe a tad too ambitious? Saying that, it was still good but forgettable.
I’d love to have the clips that are left on the cutting room floor included. I could watch James and Emmy for ages!
Even if my heart likes a couple my head always agrees with James.

I agreed with you! Look the right one went home as sad as it was to see. Watching his performance it felt like he just gave up. I think the scoring was much more consistent. Most didn’t deserve more than 7’s. Which is respectable in week 4. This was better than last week. I was glad to see Nigel and Layton come back from last week. I get what you mean with Layton with being full on. He struggled last week as I predicted. These technical dances in hold are going to be tough for him unless he lets Nikita lead! Great performances from both of those pairs. I’ve been saying along about geo and Amanda..” I don’t know what it is…” lol doesn’t seem genuine at all
Agree with pretty much everything. Think Angela and Carlos are pretty strong tho ? Don’t forget their jive and Charleston they smashed

Yes, i believe Nigel was supposed to pull Katja up at the end of their routine into a scissor type lift, that she would put her legs around his waist (like Jeanette used to do a lot in salsas) but they messed it up & styled it out...

Do you think strictly are doing the disabled contestants a disservice as they cannot do what the other dancers can do and they feel very disappointed when they get low marks
I noticed Vito over powering before with Fleur, particularly in his abba dance with her and their couples choice.
Someone said that Amanda and gio seems to be forcing a connection and seems uncomfortable and I agree.
I agree. There's a lack of authenticity somewhere, somehow. When Gio was with Debbie McGee and with Rose and Faye, etc you could just feel a genuine warmth between them, esp with Rose. Gio seems to be doing a very, very good acting job

I was also disappointed with Ellie’s score. I thought she deserved an 8. I enjoyed Amanda’s dance and krishan’s too. Bobby did good as well imho. Annabelle did well too, not perfect but I think she relaxed into the dance well.
I sometimes wonder, meaning no disrespect to Anton's professionalism, if he gives a slightly higher mark to counteract Craig's lower one. He is such a nice guy I imagine he finds it quite difficult to be tough, although his constructive feedback is usually excellent and his mini demos with Shirley are great. Zara did so much better this week. She looked amazing, and that dress... Oh, that dress will live in my dreams for a very long time.
I agree. I think Anton definitely gives a higher score to balance out Craig. Weekend just gone was a perfect example of this.
Agree with James. Judges should judge the dancing and let the public judge the personalities and popularity.
Angela Scanlon and Carlos are fab. I get their chemistry. Both quirky and fun. I cant see them in the bottom 2 for a good while.

I think they ARE being harsh on Angela Scanlon. Her partnership with Carlos is really genuine and endearing. When will these two be fair?
totally agree, I understand having an opinion but I think they’re great together and you can see that they’ve both got the same high energy and are really suited to each other
Lovely couple indeed . But I think it's the old prejudice thing here the fact that Angela is Irish and not British she won't stand much of a chance no Matter how good she is.

yes i agree,dancing first,,you get forgotten about,the music and the costumes have to be memorable,,the dance has to be memorable,, as much as i like Amanda and Gio Angela and Carlos,i just cannot warm to any of this partnering,i dont know why,i wish i did,,Jody i felt was in pain when he was dancing,,poor man ,,for me, Zara and Adam have improved week on week,,,youre right,personality counts,Krishnans got it,

Amanda and Giovanni are very good but they don’t come across as very likeable, they’re dead serious all the time and this puts me off, they lack the personality that I think the viewer loves about the show.
ca. 17:40 Thank you, James. I didn't like it either. Well put, re. Krishnan: there are the judges' technical marks, but one might still vote for him to stay in the competition. He didn't have the almost nose-in-the-air arrogance that says, "I am the tallest, most handsome man in the room," but he was fully invested in what he was doing.
Katya is usually the one dancer who comes up with great lifts I think he was supposed to pull her up and she was supposed to sort of fall down his body or like you said wrap herself around him but the end was definitely dodgy

They explain that the Frist weeks are high to give confidence. At Halloween they get low marks if not done it right. And Craig have said he give people 1 for showing up
James,🤔 not sure about the beard. You are always spot on with with views on the dancing.
I think the problem with Angela and Carlos is that over the past weeks they’ve been given ‘boring’ routines and have been placed in a bad position in the running order which makes them forgettable
Layton is brilliant but he is a proffessional dancer and he should not be in the competition its unfair to the others they may as well give them the winners cup now🤔
We know, its been talked about 200 times now its old news, move on
He’s clearly not a professional dancer if you look at his critiques / his form in the ballroom dances shows he is not used to doing that kind of dance
People say this about at least one pairing every year, but the fact is the ones with most experience never win. He doesn’t have an unfair advantage because, although he’ll likely get to the final on pure talent, he probably already knows that the public won’t vote for him to win because the best/most experienced dancers rarely do

Layton gets absolutely 0 privileges as we see in this video alone he’s constantly picked on by social media users and has asked many times for the trolls to stop. Bobby made no mistakes from what I saw, and as much as I dislike Angela Rippon and I think all of her dances have been made easier, she still has done the splits twice.
When is Angela Rippon going to do some Latin?
Need to see something different from her and that’s not to say she isn’t amazing.

Layton is probably the contestant who has had the most dance draining though. His whole career has been musicals and he attended dance and ballet school. It’s a bit different from stage school with some dance class. He looks like a professional.

Absolutely no connection with Amanda and Giovanni Iam Soo disappointed ,do they even want to be together .I love Giovanni I think he is a brilliant dancer

Tbh is softness and breath really that important in the quicker dances. To be honest I dislike quicker dancing that are too smooth. If I'm watching a Cha Cha I don't want to watch a slightly quicket Rumba.
Giovanni I love, his partner ships with his partner are always genuine. Rose who he won with an mant others especially his chemistry an Friendship with the amazing Debbie McGhee. But with Amanda no, I am not feeling it at all. She's so intense an clingy. I find it boring an bit uncomfortable. SORRY. She's a good dancer. But no I don't feel it. Something missing

Yes - it seems a lot of people are harping on about Layton. One of the disadvantages of his previous dance experiences, in my opinion, is that he is usually the centre of attention and he’s not used to being led. He says he’s starting to listen to Nikita - about time!

Hello there, I do think we've discussed everyone's dance experience quite a bit, especially when comparing to the celebs who are taking part with zero experience. I guess with Leyton it's perhaps a little more conspicuous because it was his profession, and I've noticed that the judges also seem to have higher expectations of him vs the other contestants too! You're right though, many celebs have had training this year and it shouldn't make a difference, I'm definitely on Team Leyton and Nikita! - Emmy

Could Layton stop performing to the camera and instead dance with his partner as I think that's part of what is, not wrong exactly, but off putting as it's usually the professionals doing that, not the celebs?

by keep mentioning Leytons dance experience it is starting to sound that you are saying that he is cheating by being on the show. The whole premise of the show is to teach celebrities how to do ballroom and latin dancing. As far as I know none of the celebrities have had any ballroom and latin training or dance experience before so they all start the same level on the show. Sorry James, but I think as a professional dancer you know that there are differences in the discipline and technique needed for each of the forms of dance and are being disingenuous about how hard Leyton has to work to learn how to do these routines.
