- This summer I planned to hike over a large mountain in remote area of Tasmania's south west.
The river on the other side has an old alluvial gold workings. In the past prospectors have flown into the region via helicopter but as far as I know have never sniped for gold here. In this mission we trek to the farthest regions on an incredible journey to find gold.

Hi Levi, Rob, you may not feel like you got the gold you guys were hoping for but for me I love this video for several reasons, just getting out there and having a crack, the scenery is stunning, a couple of good mates living life. This video also shows that it can be huge amounts of work with small rewards (in terms of your rewards you've got over the past summer), I think put into prospective the amount of effort that you put in to chase the gold and make the videos. This will hopefully show others to make sure they are well prepared.

That was mentally draining just watching you guys go through all that. Pushing through with all the tripping hazards, branches in the face, possible snakes, steep uphill and down and the rain…wow! I bet you were never happier to see the vehicle. This although not super successful will make the amazing days even more special and you still got some gold for the effort 👍

I highly recommend using walking sticks be it modern or the old fashioned wooden kind 😄 As someone who walks and hikes in bad brush and thorn bushes a good walking stick can really help reduce fatigue and the risk of injuring your ankles. Love the vids and good luck with the hiking!
A machete would be more useful 😅

Great episode, Levi! I loved that you showed the effort, difficulty, despair AND the triumphs (although they weren't necessarily nugget-based triumphs). I think you've done the hobbyist prospectors amongst your viewership (like me) a great service showing how it's not always as easy as putting on a mask and finding gold everywhere. Whew!! That made me tired just watching you boys struggle through that hellish terrain. I've been through that back in my younger days while hunting and ended up in areas that I didn't think I would ever make it out. Thanks for doing what you do, glad you are safe and made it out unscathed.
Boys there is an old saying, you never know till you have a go , yes you struggled in and out on some very difficult terrain with next to no gold but the area you traveled probably has not seen to many people and you had the pleasure of seeing firsthand what we only dream about . Hey Levi, I came across your site just recently and I've been watching your videos back to back they're very good and refreshing. It is very nice to get away from the hectic life of what's going on on this planet and just escape into your videos. I just watched one where you were free diving for abalone and crawfish and you asked the viewers if this is what we would like to see or if I should just stick to gold prospecting. Here is my answer, this is your site and you do what you want and those people who are not interested can find something else to look at. I appreciate all the places that you go in tazzy and it's neat to see things that I will never see in person. I like when you go in the ocean there's things in there most people never get to see and you show it to us so I appreciate that. I also like your down to earth knowledgeable persona. That makes sense. You do not come across as an arrogant individual I like that. So I'm going to have to ask you to start cranking out the videos. I'm living on the Oregon coast which as you know is on the west side of the USA. My recliner is calling me and my fingers are looking for your site. Some walking sticks are good for wiggling in front of you for snakes, at least rattlesnakes here in southern Idaho. Sure help the knees from taking a pounding too. Loved this video.

Should have flown the drone looking for a track when up on top. Good thing you fellas are young and tough. Never mind, you figured it out at the 18 minute mark. well done.
Seem like a dirt bike might help you cover some of the terrain you encounter. A small 150CC dirt bike can go virtually anywhere if it' kitted out right.
