- The 2024 Ford Ranger and Ford Performance Ranger Raptor made its debut May 2023 and has been a highly anticipated midsize truck. The next generation pick up has a strong following and is expected to battle the Toyota Tacoma this year in sales. Today we are looking at why the small truck has yet to be delivered to customers. Ordered in May. XLT with off road package. Truck was built and moved to QA 10 days ago and has since moved from the yard to modification status a few times now. I’m assuming it’s like you said they keep finding quality issues and making tweaks but I wish they’d just tell us instead of keeping us guessing.
I ordered a cactus grey lariat (from Canada) in August, had a build date of Jan 4th. I've gotten some inside info and know it's built and going through QA.

Ordered my 2024 Ranger XLT FX4, 4 x 4 on 9/28/23, carbonized gray metallic. Received my VIN & scheduled build date of 3/4/24 on 1/18/24. Waiting anxiously.
This is the hard part now
I'm really hoping to see it at SCE. It's the only vehicle other than my Bronco that gets me so excited. I love the Ranger Raptor ❤❤❤

I ordered a 2024 ranger in November 6 23, here we are in April 15. No news from the dealership. Still think it’s a great looking truck.
I ordered mine, Lariat in blue, in May and I have a vin # and a build date for the end of Jan. Hoping to have it mid Feb.
I drove the diesel one in NZ recently. I’ll definitely be getting one of this body style but I’d want the 2.7.
I ordered one myself back in June 2023, chili pepper ranger raptor (wanted code orange, not option anymore, closest they had) getting my emails too but so far no build date set.
Ordered back in October just got an email with a build date of march 4th 😮❤
Thanks for the update. I ordered my Ranger with the XLT trim and 4X4 sport package near the end of July 2023. Was told last week Ford would start building my truck on Feb 29 and would receive in Los Angeles in 4 to 6 weeks from start date but it could take longer. I'm ok waiting.

I ordered a XLT 4x4 July 26, 2023 , chrome package ,with the XLT high end accessories . Also locking rear end. Color is Azure grey. Ordered some other extras too. It’s supposed to be built week of January 29th, 2024 . That’s in 7 days!
I checked Ford website and it’s still showing that date. Let’s hope it holds.

Ordered Ranger Raptor carbonized gray metallic Oct 30 2023 got an email from Ford about 2 weeks later saying order received a month later a notice saying due to strike and holidays build would be delayed and as of january 17 2024 i have heard nothing and my lease on my 2021 Ranger Lariat ends in May so I got my fingers crossed.
I ordered an XLT 4x4 blue with trailer tow package and other add ons back in July 2023. Build date was January 28 but keeps getting pushed back. Currently says 3/1 but updated 3/7.
I saw this style ranger and the ranger raptor in New Zealand last year and loved how it looked!

Ordered a Carbonized Grey loaded Lariat in June. Original build date was the week that the strike started. Currently it’s scheduled for week of 1/22 - next week. Now I’m wondering how much longer after that for delivery to the dealership. I’m only a few hours away from the plant, here in the Chicago area. First truck I’ve ever owned- (or will own, one of these days). Waiting anxiously.

Shelter Green Raptor with headlock capable wheels. Ordered day 1 on 05/26. Had a build date back in November but that got pushed back and it went into production on 01/26/24
I ordered the xlt trim package with only the items that the factory can do, knowing that the rest can be done by the dealer. I put in my order on the 27th of December.

I heard they added a third shift when they took the lightning down to 1 shift from 3. They should be pushing these out soon. I ordered mid December lariat 4x4 cactus green

Im sure its built, Ford will not move it out of production till it ships.
I believe according to Ford Authority Ford built about 80 trucks in November and about 500 last month. So I wouldn't expect new Rangers to show up till Spring. Mullinax has 5 2024s with VIN numbers.
Waiting for my order to be pulled up here in Canada. Ugh!!!

There's pictures of lots full of 2024 Rangers that are held up because of QC issues. It's great they're doing that, but it's worrisome considering Ford's recent track record on quality.
I’ve been saving money. I might order a 2.7l when they start making them.
Ordered a Lariat on June 1. Original build date was sometime in October. It was moved to the week of January 22. But last week on January 17 it was shown in production.

My 24 ranger raptor actually has a build date of 1/17. So being that my truck is being built right now im hoping to see it eatly February
I Ordered 10/25/23. VIN issued 12/14/23. First Build week 02/05/24 bumped to 02/12/24. Velocity blue graphics package, sprayed in bed liner, security keypad.

I ordered my Azure Gray in August. On Saturday I received my vin. Should be built in late February. No stickers. Beadlock wheels. I ordered an F-350 in peak COVID (April 2021). The spray-in bed liner and the fifth wheel package delayed it by 9 months. We dropped both and it got built. Woulda been another 3 months had we not changed it. You never know what can cause the latest delay, if it's a component shortage of some kind.

I know there’s been constant problems with this vehicle and it’s factory (and it’s not really Ford’s fault) but it’s honestly embarrassing that every other country in this world has a Ranger Raptor except the US (especially with a US blue oval on it)
I just don’t understand why they couldn’t have retooled the Wayne plant back in 2022 for the 2023 next gen Ranger instead of reusing the current gen for the 2023 model year and waiting a year
What’s it gonna take for us to have a T6.2 Truck when every other country has an ice cream shop of many flavors of the truck trims, colors, and engine choices

I'm a bit "old School" when it comes to purchasing cars. I really don't care if they are in quality control mode. Get some frigging "not for resale" Rangers out into the field so we can touch and feel the vehicle. Months ago the press touched one of each model Rangers. I don't mind the wait times on orders. I seriously mind crazy waiting to touch one, then adding the order time. I'm 68 and have been a FoMoCo guy all my life. My F150 is I'm creeping up on end of life for me. F150 is more then I need, Maverick is just a bit to small. I'm hoping Ranger is my perfect. All I want to do is sit in one.
I got my order id on Jan 2nd, ordered on Oxford white, graphics package and spray in bed liner. I’m happy to wait since it’s gives me more time to get finances on order

I ordered my Ranger XLT 4x4 off Road in middle of June last year. Got a couple updates that it was In Production then nothing. As you said, we don't understand the inner workings of Ford I do understand the strike delay and parts build supply.
Did not know about Quality inspections.
Everyone asking me about it. I had a 2019 I bought new As it turned out I prematurely sold it to my Brother-in-law
Driving my wife's 2021 Sport Bronco Outer Banks for now.
Very frustrating that Ford does not communicate better.

At 39 years old it’ll be my first new new vehicle, and the first truck I’ve bought. I ordered an XL trim, 4x4, tow package, spray in bed liner, bed cover finished in black. Pretty basic. I ordered it while I was overseas through Military Auto Source so I got a few more discounts but nothing too amazing. When I ordered it I had an estimated delivery of Dec 26th. Now silence.
Just this morning I heard from MAS. They provided the VIN and estimated build date early March.

Ranger Raptor order 2 Jan. Got notification last week that the build date is 18 March.

East Tennessee here....ordered Dec 30th. Ranger Lariat, FX4..2.3L....Azure gray...got an email on 18th jan...with VIN and my build week is march 18th...I really want the 2.7L but its not an option to order right now...I'm doing my best to get them to add the 2.7 to my build...
Sadly they are not scheduling 2.7s yet but the 2.3 is a great option
Interesting, but I think all the auto makers hype these vehicles up way too early, whipping folks into a frenzy, then delay, delay, delay. Strike unfortunate but they knew the holidays are always there, so no excuses. I was ready to throw down cash on a new Ranger, but as time passes by, I've lost a lot interest.

In southern California tried to order the ranger raptor and got laughed at. Then requested to be contacted once they arrive if they aren’t 20k mark up and got laughed at again…
If you search some of the smaller dealerships you can find them at MSRP. Ours is with. Dealer is Michigan yet we live in TN.

All y'all that ordered one, are you @MSRP, or dealing with "market adjustments" right off the bat? Particularly with Raptors. I feel like if I wait there is an even bigger chance of dealing with mark-ups once they are on some lots, but if they are happening with orders too, I'm gonna wait even longer to see how it plays out.
Ours is at MSRP. We have talked to many dealers and found Brighton Ford to be the best for customer service and holding to MSRP.

There are several 2024 Rangers available on dealer lots here in Denver. The bad news? They are all well above 50k and they all have ADMs on them.
They haven’t shipped any yet.. They may have them listed on their site but dealers tend to list them once a VIN is produced
Maybe 23’s but definitely not the 24’s.

I have heard some issues producing the 24s for some reason.
I say take your time with my truck Ford ..yes I would like to have it already but I will wait for quality rather than rush it out the door ,, and my emails have came trough those with emails problems sometimes the emails go to your spam folders so dbl check
They’re all horrible timeline wise. Order what you want and sit back and wait. I inquired about a 24’ ZR2 and was told anywhere between 3months to a 1yr.

@@AllTerrainNationIt is, but the way it’s been going I’d say we can expect the same for the Ranger and Tacoma unfortunately. Ford and Toyota are just now keeping dealer stock of full-size trucks. Tundra has been out for three years now. Ford dealers are piled with 23’ F150s. Funny part is they aren’t in a hurry to discount them either. So they all can sit on them. 😬
History will repeat itself. Everything new since covid has had major delays. I would not expect to see the ranger until 2025+ Sadly
