Lock him up in prison for a long time. At least he will have free housing and food and possibly a boyfriend.

Adele, you are a HERO! Your arrest was a blessing in disguise, which was the reason the state law is now enacted. ⚖️

Judge needs demand this man get a job and pay the home owner back what he got from their property in rent and what he would of paid himself for rent and damages to the property . He needs to be on probation until all of the payments are made . A monitor on his foot until all is paid so he won't run .

God bless this woman for stepping up to the plate and being a brave brave person. As she said you don’t know to what extremes you would have to go to protect your own rights. In this case at least the negligence of the law has been recognized and her bravery to run the risk of being put in handcuffs caused a nation wide conversation and more importantly right here in New York. It’s shocking what criminals would do to get away with something. How bold he was that day she got arrested and to see him in court comes to show how important policy matters when it comes to justice!!!
Now can the DA of Queens help that couple whose home is held hostage by the squatter who claims they knew the prior owner who left a will!!!!! That’s an insanely sad story and they need help!! That guy is beyond shameless to even ask that the owners pay him over 100,000 to vacate. We need way better laws in this state and country if people can do that and literally get away with it in broad daylight and in our own courts!!!!!!

This is an old grift. It's usually renters who stop paying, refuse to vacate, and extort landlords for big bucks to get them out. This is one reason why perspective renters have to endure costly background checks.

Its easy to find out if he pays rent to that unnamed real estate agent. I think he is not paying anyone….he is living by ripping off home owners…💔💔💔💔

01:45 - "The new law defines a squatter as someone who doesn't have title, right or permission of the owner to be there."
Okay, that pretty much sums it up, and it is very easy to understand. So why haven't they already thrown the "sub-renters" out on their ears too??

Happy for her! This man knows he’s a squatter and took advantage of her. And the nerve of him to get aggressive in her own home. These squatters, con artist, scammers are at an all time high.

If the house owner's last name was, oh, let's just say GOTTI, I don't think that there would have been any need for the authorities to get
involved. The courts would not have been involved either. Any lost rent or property damaged would have been paid for in full.
The perpetrator(s) may not necessarily been available for comment afterwards or perhaps not available at all. There would not be
    any more problems again, ever.

The only reason things are on the right track is because of the attention this got! Which goes to show you that folks in law (law enforcement, political or the courtroom) all know what the right thing to do is but hide behind "just following orders." He never provided adequate proof of residency and literally broke into the place the coward police decided to arrest her because it was easier for them.
Not to mention that with a situation like it should take only about 10mins of the courts time because the problem & solution are obvious. But authorities in court will bend over backwards to interrupt the law in favor of criminals. It's stupid and courts drag this garbage out on purpose.

Check his history and see if he signed a legit lease. Usually, a document like that is notorized. If so, that means he would know what a fake lease would look like, and why would he sign a fake lease, knowing what a real lease looks like?

A change in the law removing squatters rights? Maybe know wtf you’re talking about before lazily scanning stories and comments and running your mouth like a moron. Hell yes people voted for representatives that dismantled squatters rights. If you find that problematic, someone needs to check your current residence as you’re likely a happy ass squatter yourself
