God, Lou played Brennan like a fiddle. He waited to say that line until he was SURE Brennan had drank the water - and we saw Brennan resist the spit take AT LEAST 3 times. Lou dropped the bit, but then he turned dropping the bit _into the bit!_ He's truly a master of comedic Aikido.
Yes! That and so much more... i've been subscribed 9 months and it's some of the best money i've ever spent. These guys are awesome, Adventuring Academy is excellent, the seasons of D20 unavailable on youtube are excellent... love it

Man, I get the impression these fellas stay pretty busy so I’m not holding my breath here, but a podcast of these two just talking about whatever they want, for however long they want, and even released as infrequently as is convenient for them would be just so incredible lol
I think there'd be a twelve hour episode that starts with one single question "how are you today?" and goes around the houses until eventually, eleven hours - fifty five minutes later, Brennan simply says "fine, thanks for asking. How about you?"
And that's where they leave for about four months before episode two.

Lou has this super specific laugh when he breaks. He does it here and in the crows nest in Sophmore year and it is great. I think in that fight in the crows nest Emily literally comments “his laugh is so beautiful”

I've got the feeling Brennan and Lou are very close friends outside of the dome. The way he carried Lou through to the finals of Survivor and how gracious he was in defeat, also being he was one (I'm pretty sure) of his top picks for the EXU Calamity with Critical Role.

Regarding snacks, I once invented the perfect hiking snack. I had dumped some trail mix in my food processor to chop it up into smaller pieces (for some reason I forget) and, as it would take a while, I walked away and promptly forgot about it. ...until I heard the food processor's noise change and I rushed back into the kitchen. What I found inside was a ball of dough; the nuts had been broken down enough that their oil was released, which the dried fruit pieces had promptly soaked up, tightening the whole thing up into a solid chunk. I had invented 'Trail Butter'! (Which also makes for a *FANTASTIC* gluten-free, dairy-free, etc. base for cheescake/etc.) You can stick some in a ziplock bad and just break off chunks and eat it as is, or roll it into balls/logs/etc. and dip it in cocoa powder/chocolate/coconut/etc. You can also roll it out into rectangles and use it like sushi rice to make rolled snacks. (If you make it and it is too loose, just add some more dried fruit. If too tight, add some more nuts.)

My group eats together before we start our session. We discuss last session's notes while we eat. Everyone (besides the DM) takes turns providing the meal and we all BYOB. It cuts the table snacking WAY back. Oh, and if the DM is particularly pleased with the meal, we get a "well fed" buff. 😂

This! I got the Dropout sub for Fantasy High Sophomore Year (because my hearing is just awful) and the whole Fabian/Chungledown made me cry laughing. This was so much worse. I laughed so hard my stomach muscles hurt the next day. Magnificent.
I used to get bullied and lost friends because it was "rude" that I prioritized wanting to know 1. When things started 2. What the food plans were 3. When things were likely to wrap up and 4. How people planned on getting home...
Because apparently wanting to know the details meant I didn't "really want to be there".... God that was infuriating 🤣 I'm glad to see people encouraging it
8 months late to this party but i gotta say, if you're losing friends for the crime of wanting to know what's going on, i think maybe that's just a great opportunity to make new friends who are actually worth having

I seriously doubt that Brennan and Lou have ever had a conversation where they haven't broken out in hysterics. That Mr. Peanut bit was life changing.
I'm realizing now that the reaction to Brennan's interest in birds is similar to my college friends' reaction to my liking bacon: mostly benign but *vastly* blown out of proportion.
So with Brennan it’s less that he enjoys birds to the point of knowing a lot about all of them, and more that he does know about them and enjoys sharing information that he knows that he feels happy about. Sharing information that’s kinda cool is a piece of how Brennan shows affection.
So, trivia is his love language?

Buffalo Chicken Dip? Oh man, it's the food of the gods. I don't know what recipe they use specifically, but mine usually has cream cheese, blue cheese crumbles (or ranch if you're not a fan), chopped up chicken meat, Franks hot sauce, with some shredded cheddar cheese and mozzarella on top. Grab a bag of tortilla chips and go to town. ^_^

Lou is so right about the Easter Reese's. That egg shape is the BEST peanut butter to chocolate ratio.
Lou's Peanut Butter rant was 100% on point. Easter Reese's are the GOAT, and I will always go for a regular Reese's as first choice in one of those Halloween assorted bags, but pretty much all other peanut butter snacks can kick rocks as they just taste like vaguely peanut flavored sugar. There used to be a candy bar called PBMax that were a serious contender, but those haven't been around for a long time.

I'm definitely my group's snack captain. We meet up once or twice a year for a full DnD weekend and I'm always the one to be like 'okay, what night are we going out to eat, what night are we doing a potluck, here's the Google Doc to put all the ingredients we're going to need, who wants to hit what store', etc. I'm also in charge of getting payment dispersed back out at the end of the weekend so we're not doing boring math when we could be doing fun math with our 300 dice and chaos xD
Only once or twice a year? Do you guys just do like longer one shots for each weekend or is it like an ongoing campaign?
@@Roe97 ongoing campaign. We play using Roll20 and Discord, but get together in person once or twice a year because everyone is all over the state.

I grew up in Utah and I was way older than I should have been when I realized a minotaur wasn't half man/ half Buffalo. To me its a more terrifying combo than half man/ half bull.

Snacks 100% are a part of DND like especially if you have a 6-8h session. The mood is just gonna be better by default if you don't have to be distracted by wondering when you'll get to eat.

I'm the host for my weekly game group and I found a really good piece of lingo was "doors open" like from concert venues, because that lays out the start of the timeline. I can go "doors open at 6 PM, food ready by 6:15, game start time is 7", almost makes me feel like a stage manager or something, but it works very well for my group.

This is 27 minutes and 37 seconds of two neuro divergent men talking snacks and I love every second of this.
I'm not seeing any buffalo chicken dip recipe dropped so I'll give y'all mine:
-5 ingredients, substitute as desired:
-2 12oz cans of chicken. yes, really, you can't tell. but you're welcome to use chicken prepared any way
-1-2 cups kraft triple cheddar shredded cheese (or any cheddar mixture)
-1 brick of cream cheese
-buffalo hot sauce (texas pete or franks are good choices)
-1/2 cup ranch dressing
-Heat stovetop to medium setting. optionally, you can heat the chicken with a 1/2 tbsp of butter
-chicken first; if using canned chicken, there may be larger chunks but they will separate while stirring
-pour in buffalo sauce and stir together
-pour in ranch and cream cheese at the same time; Because the cream cheese is so thick, I usually put half cream cheese in, stir, then pour in the ranch and then put the other half of cream cheese in
-stir ingredients until mixed well and cream cheese is creamy and has lost thickness
-mix in cheese at your discretion. The longer you let the cheese melt and the other flavors mix, the better the taste.
-Optionally, move to lowest setting, stirring occasionally
-turn off stove and let stand for a few minutes
Serve with tostitos scoops or whatever you want really. I like fritos scoops and celery with my dip. Also, if you let it sit in your fridge for a day and then heat it up for leftovers... phenomenal.
