Christian is such a good English teacher that a firm called Fluentify use him as their face when marketing their tuition course on Playstore. His picture is all over their screenshots. This must be very flattering.
It was really pleasant to listen to such brilliant people. English is such a broad topic for discussing. I could listen to it for hours. Thank you very much!
Hey Luke, just wanted to tell you when I express myself in English I feel really great, I feel I can communicate with other people and express love and passion, and learn a lot of cool stuff from professors in English just because of you, so that is why we give you so much love and positivity. ( as a girl, imagine I have a bit of your voice in my own voice when I am talking in English this is how much effective you are in our lives.)
My dear Teachers ♥! Love to Both of You ! Thank you for this amazing meeting! You have put in all your possible and imaginable mutual respect, love and passion for what you've been doing, fun and jokes, laughter and self-criticism, smiles and warmth of your personalities that shine through, your sincerety, openness and authenticity. You are most appreciated, for you change this world for a better place! Thank you Christian! Thank you Luke for organising this wonderful talk and asking Christian questions and giving the opportunity to tell the story of our Pencils of Promise Project! Yes, we have reached our goal and we are heading for the second school after a summer break, as Christian said. I sincerely hope one day you would join us! My best wishes! And I love your podcasts! You are doing an amazing job!
Great Video. I saw the first Episode and I have also the Audio Version on my iPod. Perfect for Learning English pronunciation this mild summer. Greetings from Spain.
Thanks so much Luke for re-inviting the only honest teacher with the TH-cam audience, I mean his words about learning English in 3 or 6 months and other issues, and he's so creative ... He has a DNA of Stephen Krashen.
Thank you Teacher Luke and Christine from conguro, every time I go on you tube, this content pops up,I just watch it,it’s fun to listen to you both, you guys all are so generous, helping a lot of non native language learners.
interesting conversation, I agree there are many fake promises online...But after seeing many other methods and videos...I recently started listening and watching to Luke, and noticed it really helped my listening (not only because of the free content, I tried to become premium, I couldn't get through, I'll try again)... because of his beautiful clear voice in standard English at normal speed (not like talking to a baby or an idiot), but it also helped my pronunciation and skills I had acquired from other teachers and books, BECAUSE I CAN PRACTICE what I listen to in a more relaxed and fun way and the content is really good to understand culture, humour...It is FUN and effective PRACTICE. In other words for those who already know some English Luke's podcast is a great to improve fast if they practice it. Selectively grateful
Totally agree! Your content helps me a lot with my teaching my students through learning from you. And It feels like you aint here to lure money from. Thank you guys a lot!!
Luke you are one of the podcaster made me improved in listening. Since I've been learning English apart my regular English class in East Timor 🇹🇱. Love

Hello from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil 🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷! I really like your podcast and inviting Christian was a really good idea! You, guys, rock! Thank you for this amazing interview! 🥰🥰🥰
Don't ask me why because I don't know but I listened to both of you without feeling a need to pause for a moment. Either you are interesting and understandable and you know how to speak to ESL learners or I'm becoming better at English listening. 😀
Enjoy your conversation. I come from your last video, Luke and Christian. I guess you are right, viewers do appreciate TH-camrs sharing tips on English learning, especially when for free. Maybe there is another reason: English learners think native speakers tend to say things exaggeratedly, considering the influence of foreign films. Trusting research to a certain point and with a skeptical mind is important in every kind of industry. Sometimes people need to argue, not just to follow the so-called right things.
Great luke n christen...love from bhutan..a himalayan Kingdom. Two of you should work together n end the game . Really enjoyed the show...wow. i wish to hear you more often. A little comedy n talks mix into exciting contents.
Hi Luke...i litterally wish you channel should reach millions of subscribers very soon...you deserve billions n trillions subscribers❤....you are my best ever English teacher on this planet ...Lots of love from India❤🎉
Lovely to see you're both not afraid of honesty, directness, looking at you I stop believing Europeans are fakely smiling and giving stupid compliments people✊

Good to hear yours or both espretions. I decided to learn British way because I've got most understable, May be 'cos my dad moved to Australia when I was 9 years old. I AM now 59 I speack south American Spanish native from Uruguay. Is a little dificult to me to understand: Obama, Bush and North American English.
I would like to be a good English speaker to participate in conversations like this! But I am me, so I can only write some thanks. I agree with Luke: usually my comments on TH-cam are thakful becouse I apreciate what I see and hear as I think about the amount of time and work has been done into what I can reach for free. That is great and I am grate to teachers like you, Luke and Christian. I would like to point out that I have never thought Christian's videos were for cliking becouse their titles. None of all who knows Christian may think that! For others, who are intrested in learning English in one month, I guess, they listen for a few minutes then stop and do not come back! Thanks! You both are the best teachers in the world! It is a joke! But only for this trivial phrase! Your works is involving, fascinating, different each time and both engage people in thoughtful paths of the mind. Thank you
When listened this episode, i wondered how british people or all people who speak English and don't have local languages backbite the people incase they want. Kkkkkkkkkkkk any way thank you very much luke.
I like your discussion about teaching methods, it is extremely old fashion ways to learn language, it has to be change. From my experience as second language learning who had studied at institutions for learning English as second language for quite period of time, these schools were following outline during classroom which is not prepare a student either for the real conversation outside the classrooms nor English language exams such as Ielts etc for that matter. Which is necessary for international students. For instant, studding verb tenses and other grammars are easy for international students I believe, because we already feed up with it and does not takes a month to comprehend. I reckon, nowadays the materials for learning English are all over the internet platform, so no need for such syllabus carried in student bag. I believe studding English without intensive materials would be better to evolve our speak fast which is significantly important, then other skills will come along by time that should be correlate with student effort.
Hello Luke and Christian, my favorite ever! Were you actually talking about sexy swimming wear haaaa! Now being serious your say matters, you bring serious thoughts about our learning process so please carry on. We all love you and thank youuuuu
I got a big pleasure to listen my favorite podcasters. By the way i don't know why by i better understand Christian. Any idea? As for me his accent more clear. Why? May be i have been listened a lot of Christian's podcasts

Hi Luke, I´ve been listening to your podcast since the beginning and also, I am subscribed to LEP premium since its creation. I am saying that because I´ve always admired the way you understand and see the world but I think that this is the first time that I´m dissapointed with your view of comparing Christian with Donald Trump. I´ve been listening to Christian for several years and watching some of its projects to create schools for refugees and I think that he doesn´t deserve being compared with Donald Trump at all. We all know what Donald Trump has meant during its presidency in the US and I think that it is not appropriate to compare Christian with him. You can agree or not with Christian´s view about the best way of learning english but on top of that, he's a great guy who deserves all my respect for everything that he has done to make the world a better place to live. Regards, Roberto
Hi Roberto, of course I don’t really think Christian is like the Donald Trump of English teaching, it was just a joke! And maybe an excuse to do the old Trump impression.
@@LukesEnglishPodcast Ah, I got it. Thanks Luke for your reply :-) All for a good cause... In this case for one of the best Trump impressions on TH-cam :-) Take care and good luck with the refurbishment of your home!
I love the irreverence! I also have fight-the-system tendencies when it comes to language learning/teaching ✊ I watched this about a week ago and still keep wondering about one thing: When you talk about training native English speakers to communicate with non-native speakers, I wonder in what contexts we would be advised to speak with fewer idioms, take time to enunciate more carefully than we would naturally, etc. I mean, it is a little unclear to me at what point the communication is considered "global"...even giving a conference here in the US, in a big city, a third or more of the audience might be composed of non-native speakers of English. Or what about a TED talk? On the one hand, it will go out to a global audience...but on the other, I feel sad when I contemplate losing the richness of language in those and similar talks. And on yet A THIRD HAND 😂, in English, native speakers communicate a large part of their message via INTONATION...and we do this almost entirely SUBCONSCIOUSLY. I think it would be undesirable as well as impossible to change this part of the spoken communication system of English, despite the fact that a lot of non-native speakers are not picking up on a great deal of what is communicated through English intonation. In any case, it's all very complex. I rather resist sweeping generalizations like "native English speakers are bad communicators"...although I do support the idea of training for native English speakers to become more sensitive to the challenges of listeners from other language backgrounds is in order...and we should cultivate an ability to adjust our speaking style to listeners' needs. So...then the question is, in what situations should native English speakers simplify their language to be more comprehensive to non-native speakers? As I contemplate this question, it seems to me that there is a great deal of gray area... Any thoughts?
