Can't love this enough! Julio is the epitome of what a "MAN" should strive to be. Unselfishly putting his families needs above his own. Thank you for sharing such a important relatable story. Continued blessings.
And Dad is so cool...he never said a thing about the hood not having scoops... well raised family.. nobody had to tell them what the right thing to do is...they knew from being raised the right way... more people like this...!
He originally had the 400 manual with the mean looking scoops on the hood. Now, opted for the 326 auto because he no longer has the use of his left leg. He is unable to drive a stick. He was elated either way though and is so happy for the cruiser. Thank you for your kind words. More comments like this!
@@TheAlfaritos So wonderful that you were able to give him back his beloved car, even though it wasn’t the exact car. I appreciate that you selected one that would suit his physical capabilities. I also had a 1967 Verdoro green Firebird that I sadly sold around 50 years ago, so this video is special to me as well. Btw, the 400 he is kneeling in front of in the photo is actually a 1968. The wrap-around front parking light started in ‘68, along with the rear side lights and the lack of front wing windows.
I lost the same car 40 years ago bringing it home from storage for the winter in a stupid accident. I cry seeing this video. People are good, it give me hope!
Que bonito reencuentro. Tell your dad my history: In 1989 I purchased my first car , was a 1985 white Pontiac Firebird standard transmission. Drove pretty good at the mountains in Monterrey NL and around my hometown y el Nevado de Toluca. I took it to Toluca Mexico and brought my family on it . Round trip from Belle glade Florida.
That was the first car I owned. Bought it in my sophomore year in college in 1975. It was a 400 4sp. I repainted it the same color as your dad's car. I shed a tear because I really miss that car.
You are an incredible son to an incredible father. The smile on his face when he drove the Firebird says it all! Thank you so much for sharing this beautiful story and your wonderful family!❤️
Very cool! I bought a 70 Firebird as my first car and drove it for 5 1/2 years till I sold it. Had a lot of fun and made good memories in it. I'd love to have another one, but I am pretty sure I would want it with a/c this time around. I hope Julio is loving that car!
The good Son and family! Wow my man, priceless....money cannot buy or replace the joy Dad was feeling. You are the best of Mankind...thank you good man, peace.
We all have that emotional connection with that special car once we owned in our younger years. We all don't have this son to acknowledge that bond we lost it decades ago, well done son, you are a gem. No one is ever too old to drive an old school V8. Enjoy.
What a wonderful story and amazing gift of love you gave! My first car (1973) was a 1968 Pontiac Firebird 350 in black with red interior. My parents made me sell it the fall of '74 after my 2nd accident in it. I tracked it down once in the mid 80s with intent to buy it back, but the owner wouldn't part with it. I've seen a few since then, but none with that color combination. The 1968 came with a 350 base and the 400 with hood scoops. Mine had a fold down rear seat to a platform that worked well for transporting my guitars and amps to band practice. I think about that car often. All I have left are a few photos. And the dime-sized cigarette burn I put in the drivers seat. It was a head turner and sounded great with glass packs and side pipes.
Awesome son. Makes me think of my time in the Army. I found in a tobacco store a statue of John Wayne. My dad was a big fan. So for Father's day I bought it n sent it to him. Great gift.
I was only 15 when my dad died., sadly too young to have done anything great for him like this. Bless you for showing him your appreciation in such a big way.
I’ve owned 67 firebird convertible for 30 years. Kids came along and it got put on the back burner. They’re grown now and I hope my health holds out long enough to where I can finally have that car the way it should be.❤
I lost my dad before i became good financially...couldnt pay him back anything....i love u dad wherever u are...ill try to be with my kids as good as u was
very well done comrade you have successfully done what will earn you the respect of the community and most importantly you have givven your dad something greater than the car, the feeling of proudness. Very well done

The power of cars!
Back when cars had not just character, but class. Wonderful thing done for a wonderful man who sacrificed so much.
I had a 1977 olds 442 stolen. If my kids would do
something like that. I would be doing the tailpipe.
Exactly! How awesome!
Julio raised his kids the right way. What a way to say thank you.

When he sat in the drivers seat his face said it all. It was a weight he finally left off his shoulders after all these years 😢
Just lovely, what a lovely thing to do for your old dad 😊❤❤❤❤
The best thing, to make a Dad's heart, young again.
Brought tears to my eyes when I saw Julio as a young man next to his car. Well done.
Saying I love you is one thing, showing you love someone is something else. Well done.
