Definitely confused about the entire meaning of the song, but LOVE IT regardless!!!
D-GiBBY I feel like trivium generally has deeper/confusing lyrics. If you’re interested matt heafy has his own TH-cam channel and he has two different videos up right now where he’s driving talking about the different meaning of some of the songs. Cool insight
The first line of the song tells you what the entire song is about. Read the lyrics when you watch videos if you have a hard time understanding music lyrics. Makes a massive difference.
I feel like this music video tells a story about how she could have escaped the path that was given but she chose to keep going on with the rope instead of finding a way to cut the rope.
I think it has something to do with the movie bird box
Alot of their songs talk about the damaged world we live in..chaos brought on by our bad choices and corrupt leaders

All the rope did was make her go in a circle. The end was her realizing she's back where she started.
I interpreted it as there's now someone ahead of her doing the same thing and she's becoming the one who's doing the "chasing" but the chasers mean no harm, we just assume they're chasing her and we're watching hoping that there's a cat and mouse situation going on assuming the context, where instead they're all just trying to get themselves out, no malintent at all. Even if that's not the case, it's a great video in that everyone can interpret it differently!
No offense man but seriously, I feel like you’re confused about the meaning of a lot of songs you react to. Keep on rocking though. Maybe pull up some lyrics on another screen or your phone and read along.
His reaction Abigail by Motionless In White is the best/worst. Literal first words of the song: "SHE'S A WITCH, SHE'S A WITCH AND I'M A HERETIC".

It's less known than many of their songs and the most underrated one, in my opinion. It has litteraly everything I want in a song. It gives me goosebumps every time I hear it. She made it through but in the end became the same as the people pursing her and joining their ranks. We as a society, have become catastrophist thriving over events feed to us by the daily news cycle. Just my interpretation.

My interpretation of the song, the Catastrophist are the world leaders, corporation owners (gold watch on the person chasing) etc. pulling the strings and controlling the lower class. No matter how hard you push to rise above your situation there are continual roadblocks to keep you caged (the traps) (in the chorus he says we never had a chance) Also they are watching it on TV. We regularly sit argue, or laugh over the news of disaster and what is happening to the less fortunate. Even if we do care we often do nothing more than talk. It's a representation of the world today
Had the same interpretation, I get similar themes in a lot of their other music as well. They typically have anti-war and anti-establishment sentiments as does a lot of metal I've come to find recently
I'm pretty excited about their new album. Check out "Watch The World Burn"...its a banger!!

For me it meant the vicious cycles of war that politicians create and all we can do is sit and watch the terror and do nothing about it.
maybe its from the elites perspective watching us all struggle through our daily lives while they sit back an watch us for entertainment they get mad when we make progress but in the end we end up right back where we started and so the show goes on

So I paid 2 dollars for this and it would not post. Said chat was late. So I will post my interpretation of this video here. So she wakes up with a rope going in 2 directions. That's key clue. She chooses what she thinks is the path forward. Every obstacle provided a chance to break the rope. She chooses the hard way everytime thinking this is the way forward. After all this she ends up back where she started. Now her only choice is to run in circles
That's how I interpret the song. So every obstacle to you is a catastrophe. And you just move on to the next one, when everytime you hit one you have a way out. But you either don't see it or just cant do it. So it's over and over nonstop
So after reading the lyrics, it sounds like what I said above but applied to mankind
