    This was very helpful…it is my biggest issue with my hair and I know it why length retention and breakage is such a problem with me. My hair gets so tangled sometimes that I literally cry and think what am I going to do. I even think to myself that his cannot be normal and just want to cut my hair off.I guess it is normal and I just need to have a different mind set. Thank you for this, I truly appreciate it.

      I am so happy it was helpful for you Neicy 😊 Once tangles get to a certain point they really are no joke. I have cried in the bathroom MANY times because of how tangled my hair was. Eventually, I had to create discipline with myself to stop letting my hair go so long without being washed and detangled. The key for me was getting to the root of why I would neglect myself in that way. I really hope you have more easeful detangling sessions ahead. ❤️

    I cut my hair recently. I wanted to start over. Before that, my hair was a few inches above my tailbone. You helped me gain that length. Now I'm back on your page, ready to obtain that length again but thicker this time. With that being said, thanks, sis!

    Oh my gosh. You should get a gazillion, trillion hits on this one. I love the detail in teaching us how to use that comb and how to address tangles at the roots, etc. I have the same type of hair you do as far as knots go... I have watched this video twice already. Thank you so very much. Visual education is the best.

    I highly recommend detangling with a conditioner BEFORE shampooing if your hair has been in a protective style. Especially for 4C hair. Shampooing can cause the shed hair that’s trapped at the root to further tangle because of the shampooing motion (rubbing with fingers) at the scalp.

    The only way I can detangle dry is after a braid out (while using oils) with a wooden brush. Otherwise, I don’t even think about it 😂! I also have horrible root tangles, surprisingly the longer my hair gets the easier it is to detangle. I have split ends from when my hair was shorter ( I plan on trimming at BCL) around APL. Now I’m hip length which has helped so much with wash day, im going for knee so I’ll let you know if the trend continues! 😊

    This was such a helpful video to me! Thanks for reaffirming to take time on doing ur hair and get prepared for it and plan for it, I think that’s so important, i loved the doing a washngo once a month tip, twisting up hair when tangles start to happen in a washngo, and moisturizing hair everyday! Great tips I’m taking thank you🔑

    This looked like so much work.. 😭 But apparently a labor of love.. My entire weekly wash and style session is about 1.5hrs.. So the thought of just detangling taking that long is overwhelming.. I would also have to be taking deep breaths and calming myself through such a process.. Life be lifein though, so it's beautiful you took the time to get your hair detangled and back on track.. I know for sure that because I wash and style weekly my routine is able to be so quick fast simple and easy.. Its the consistency that's been keeping the process easy.. Awesome content, and love seeing others with such similar textures doing their own hair.. 🥰

      She would’ve been done in 15 minutes (or less) if she used a paddle brush. FL brushes are the equivalent of using multiple combs. That gets you nowhere.

    • @chiquitafederico296

      @@denyshadials5702 I use the tangle teaser to detangle my hair.. That has been my fav tool, I started with the FL brush but it was missing something.. I got a tangle teaser from Ulta by fluke and have never looked back.. I'm able to detangle my hair using my 2nd shampoo in less than 5mins.. But like I said, I wash my hair at least once a week, so it never really get to tangle up on itself..

      Thank you! And same! Giovanni always holds it down lol. Oh, and I shampooed three times. Two times with the head and shoulders 2 in 1 dry scalp shampoo and then one time with the pattern beauty hydration shampoo.

    When detangling always start at the ends and work your way up and make sure you hair is moisturized first.

    Your hair is beautiful and looks very healthy… do you stay in the shower the whole time and keep re-wetting?

    • @PowerInYourCurl
      @PowerInYourCurl  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you! Yes, I stay in the shower the entire time because the humidity of the shower keep my hair wet and more pliable. I am able to detangle quicker in the shower. When I used to detangle outside of the shower, I spent a lot of time re-spraying my hair down with water.

    • @PowerInYourCurl

      I was doing exactly what worked well for my hair. 😊 100% finger detangling hair that was past my tailbone inevitably took a lot of time and intention.

    • @Miss-zr1rv
      @Miss-zr1rv ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@PowerInYourCurl why finger detangling? There are more brushes you can use. And with the right conditioner you didn't have to finger detangle. If it was 20 yeard ago i understood it. But for years there are haircare video's/ articles on how to detangle curly hair.
