Rails in Wales. New images at Pontypool and Treherbert. 67s and FLIRTS

  • The end of June 2024 saw the Cardiff-Manchester Piccadilly services pass through Pontypool and New Inn non stop. Despite the brand new large car park and footbridge/lifts being installed, these trains are not stopping in the new timetable! Part 2 and we're up at Treherbert to catch the occasional FLIRT venturing out on the line before the trams take over; next year?

    The whole line has been transformed, but a specific station still remains shut. I guess that will reopen when the metro takes effect.

      I believe there's a problem with the "final handover" between the contractor and Network Rail. I don't have any more inside in formation, sorry. I only the cameraman!
