    Youre a genius man, the way you teach licks just sticks so well

    Love this! Kudos to you for stepping outside the box from all the shredding and metal licks that are all over TH-cam. 👍

    Great lesson! Be sure to credit Brent Mason for these double stop tricks. I hear a lot of it in his playing especially on early 90s country recordings from Alan Jackson and Brooks & Dunn.

    that's amazing ross! I was in Nashville last night and just came across Daniel at the apex club! as soon as I heard him I new he was special and he was nice enough to let me get up and do a song with his band! I just got back to Canada and looked him up on youtube and didn't realize how special this kid is.Funny thing is I just completed your first bulletproof course and then I see this video of you demoing his technique.Your course was very helpful and a lot to absorb so I think ill go over it again to try and grasp things a bit better. I keep on trying to learn but still have a long way to go especially when you see guys like him and you out there! Keep it coming Ross!

    Great lesson! Just saw Don Kelley's latest guitar monster in Nashville last week, Luke McQueary. What a country shredder.

    I'm wondering when your own big break(s) will arrive Ross, is it really the state of current guitar music popularity that a chap with your skills and knowledge aren't in parallel orbits with the Guthries of this world. I'm endlessly impressed each time I watch and left wondering what else you're capable of. Respect.

    Thanks for this super cool lesson Ross! Love these types of cool hybrid picking licks - I'm finally starting to be able to play these but you're right about the tempos here being really challenging. It's so important to keep things clean and sharp. You did an awesome job.

    great lesson Ross! I have bought the course, and have been trying to ingrain the triads in my head, and this is a great lick in context to use as practice. Thank you!

    Of course, the most amazing - uncopiable double-stops ( 3rds ) - are those played by Scotty Anderson which I think are only approachable when using a thumb pick.

    • @RossCampbellGuitarist

      Michael Ryan No actual tab but really it's right there in front of you. Just slow the video down, watch what I'm playing and listen to it over and over again.

    Great tone. Is this your AxeFX II?

    • @RossCampbellGuitarist
      @RossCampbellGuitarist  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes but I'm using my new pedalboard in addition to it. So all the reverb, delay, drive and compression is coming from my pedals, and they're running into the Axe preset which is based on a Fender Princeton with a 12" speaker.

    Great Ross, what effects do I have to have for a country sound like yours? I have Fenfer Telecaster, reverb, chorus, delay? Guide me with this. Thank you

    • @straightshooter8662
      @straightshooter8662 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      a little reverb and slapback. if you dont have a slapback just use a delay and set it fast like 32cd or tripplet feel

    There's quite a lot of Danny Gatton in here, isn't it?

    • @RossCampbellGuitarist
      @RossCampbellGuitarist  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Personally I can't say that I've listened to enough Danny Gatton to know. But it's interesting that you point that out. It's always cool to hear another player's influence come out in someones playing style!

    My knowledge of the guitar sucks. I’m self taught at age 50. Where are the good teachers? Because I know a little i guess they just want to show licks?

    Im sorry even with all that music theory commentary thats still a cheezie lick. But thats just my opinion.

  • @markrodgers3497

    You may not play it as fast, but you played it cleaner (and better sounding, IMO). Often times, too fast is simply.....too fast. ;)
