  • My buddy ‪@danieldonato‬ is back today to break down pedal steel bends, a concept that country music knows and loves well. Take it away, Daniel!

Just want to say, I've been playing around on a guitar for a couple months for the first time in my life and your videos are making it fun and making me want to stick with it. Thanks for the help and keep the videos coming please!

That circular kind of picking is very much the same to the banjo playing im into so its nice to hear in on guitar too

Excellent instructions, thanks Daniel. I love the sound of the pedal steel bends and even though I'm not a country music player, there are plenty of times these sounds can add a new flavor to a simple solo.

Country bends truly are a wonderful sound. Added depth that is only complimented by that iconic twangy tone that defines country guitar, really feels a like love letter to classic country of the 70s, 80s, and 90s. Cheers.

That last bend technique is really hard. I can’t get the grip and stretch to bend that note a whole step. Oh well.

Wow! This is an amazing lesson!!! I love the pedal steel licks. They totally define the classic country sound. When u hear those bends & double stops u know what style of music ur hearing. Thanks

Great stuff! Well presented! I go through phases where I want to dive into this type of playing. I have an Andy Aledort country pickin dvd and one of those 100 Country Licks dvds around the house. I'd love to be able incorporate some of this cool stuff into my playing. Daniel, like you, made this stuff so digestible. 👏❤️ More of this always welcome. 🤠Marty Country 😃👏❤️

Great stuff! I use most of those bends, but I did learn something new... the bend with the dominant 7th on the E string. Thanks so much for sharing.

Thanks for the lesson sensei, not country related but a guitar lesson on “In My Time of Dying” by Led Zeppelin would make my year.. there isn’t much to go off of on TH-cam as a newbie. Thanks for all the time you put into your videos it’s very appreciated.

Marty - random but important plea - can you put up the old instrumental cover you did of Strawberry Fields? Or does that video belong to other guy who shall remain nameless? It was the most beautiful guitar rendition of that beautiful song and it's not on YT. Some guy has the Hey Jude one you did (with the same background, probably from the same video session) up, but I need the Strawberry. Nobody on this entire site comes close to what you did. Not being able to listen to it is freaking haunting me for awhile now.

@@MartyMusic You're very welcome and thank YOU for the great music and instruction. Here is a link to the Hey Jude one you did. We're the same age, I wish we both were as young as you/we were here! But maybe it'll jog your memory as when you did Strawberry, as it was against the same Liverpool garden background. And perhaps it'll inspire you to do the 2023 version. :-) m.th-cam.com/video/KfnV4Hx90Ds/w-d-xo.html
