Galactus being a 3d model that they clearly completely failed to blend with anything else was actually a touch i really liked, he was literally a *higher dimensional being*.
I never watched this show as a kid, but seeing the look of it now has me really interested. Cosmic Marvel is so much fun, and I love the way they've brought Kurby's art to life. Great work!

I do like the Silver Surfer animated series but I'm disappointed that the series isn't completely finish since the writer left episode 13 "The End of Eternity part 1" as a cliff hanger instead of finish with the "The End of Eternity, Part Two" as Season 1 finale which never happened sadly. What's worst is the Silver Surfer animated series is released onto complete DVD without "The End of Eternity, Part Two" which could leave the viewer watch the series with a lot of question like what has happened to the Silver Surfer at the end of part one which we may never know.
Season 2 was planned and eight of the shows were written, including The End of Eternity, Part 2’. The studio should pick up the project, finish writing the rest of the shows and make the second season ASAP!!
There might be some hope with Xmen TAS getting revived for one last season. Although personally I think Spiderman and Silver Surfer deserved seasons over xmen which already had an okay ending, not loose as Silver surfer and spiderman.
It's so weird to me that FoxKids was showing King of the Hill, you wouldn't think that Fox Kids would be showing adult cartoons, but then again the reason they show King of the Hill first on Adult Swim is so it can be the buffer show as kids are going to bed before the intense stuff starts after midnight.

Yes I must so agree with you. When Disney+ came out here in UK (March 2020), we pre-ordered it, and the first show separate from all that was debuting that caught my attention was this. Slowly overtime I watched it, and must say the inclusion of such prime Marvel characters along with a very likable story (in my opinion) was not only entertaining but beautiful. If only such rights issues didn't happen as they did. The Silver Surfer is a fundamental Marvel character.

Marvel at Disney, now have all the rights, they would need to even make something comparably close to this underrated show of a fundamental Marvel character who is destined to have Cosmic significance in the MCU going forward, amid all the project rumours.
If you're coming straight from the MCU and Disney Marvel animated stuff, then this show could confuse you because Gamora is almost unrecognizable from her modern look and Drax could fly and he also wears a cape lol
I really happy I found your break down/review. Very informational, insightful, and enjoyable. I only stumbled upon the silver surfer cartoon last year and I was blown away. I think you described it perfectly as "a comic book cartoon". The writing was so beautiful and poetic it was marvelous. The unaired scripts are available online too
This video made me want to give this show another try and I freaking loved it. Theres some episodes I'd kill to see in a live action MCU Disney+ Silver Surfer show.

I just watched this show on Disney +. I much preferred the 2d hand drawn animation vs the CGI stuff but the contrast was cool and the overall aesthetic was nice. The dialogue was formal, Shakespearean at times with the monologues, tragedy and overall vocab.. it stood out in that sense compare to other kids shows. I kinda liked this version of thanos ego and nebula NGL. One thing I didn’t get… Adam worlock and beta ray bill essentially suffer from the same thing. Their reality is an illusion and they need to overcome it etc. beta ray bill does overcome it so does Adam worlock but in the end Adam goes back to the hallucination voluntarily. And the show makes you feel like they both made the right choice. I didn’t get that.
Silver Surfer was my favorite Marvel cartoon from that era; I liked that so many different cosmic characters were used and loved all of the back ground easter eggs! I was't a big fan or these characters previously (although I knew who they were) but this series set me up for the Annihilation crossover in the comics which was excellent.
Imagine in what if the watcher decides to bring in another person from the multiverse to help battle infinite ultron, only for it be revealed as the silver surfer from this animated show.
That cliffhanger was nasty. They fully intended to continue it sinfe Silver surfer was a big hit on Fox Kids but then Marvel went bankrupt and Avi Arad pissed off the owner of Fox and that's all she wrote
The 2008 guardian from the comics were still very much intact with their prior comic iterations slight changes but it was natural progression and evolution for comics as a whole but the movies six years later changed them completely so much that they changed them in the comics in 2014 too which was such a horrible decision and just character assassination
DC has the man hunters, the monitors, the antimatter world of quad,the new gods and apokolips the 5th dimension , the presence the reach ,the thanagatians and th ranians, the scarabs(blue beetle)etc don't be so biassed
Born in Early 90s and i never knew of this show , or wouldn't habe remember as it didn't last, just like many other non popular 90s shows. Great series though
I watched this as a kid and really liked it. I recently seen they put all the 90s shows on Disney plus and I too started binging like crazy. This show is a lot better then I even remember.
Your video is a pretty great analysis on this show, but however my one criticism is that you didn’t go over another main character who tagged along with Silver Surfer. That being Frankie Raye who became Nova and befriended him. She was one of the heralds of Galactus. I think it was a missed opportunity you didn’t mention her and her backstory since I like her and think she was a sweet and charming character. I think it would have been a good opportunity to go over how this show has possible synergy with the Fantastic Four cartoon since Frankie first appeared in that show and was Johnny’s girlfriend but had to leave Earth to save Galactus’ life, so they likely share continuity

Damn same shit for spiderman tas, abruptly ended with no conclusion on Mary Jane's disappearance. 90s was both a good and bad time for comicbook heroes. The bad being tv executives didn't understand the importance of adapting actual content on tv. Instead they made cartoons like tmnt, gi joe, transformers, pokemon with atrocious stories which served only as ads to make kids buy comics,toys and merchandise. If studios only focused on content but not make them an ad, they would die down fast e.g. Phantom. The good thing being Marvel made a mix of both and made a long lasting impact. Oh and I had rewatched whole of spiderman tas on yt just like your way haha
Yeah as a kid I did that same thing with TH-cam. When I was like… maybe 6 or 7 I desperately tried trying to find spectacular on TH-cam… never succeeded.
I just watched this show this weekend. I hated it, I thought it was boring but knowing what I know of marvel now. This show is amazing. You need to know marvel to like it tho.
They need to make Silver Surfer Season 2 and Avengers: United They Stand Season 2 for Disney+ as well as Wolverine and the X-Men Season 2, Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes Seasons 3, 4, 5 and 6, and Bring back other Marvel 90's Series.
I really liked this show especially the one whare Galactus gets sick and surfer and Danny have to kill galactuses virus.I also like the one episode whare he met and fought Thanos

Yeah, some of the Jack Kirby-esque monologuing doesn't work so well in an animated adaptation. I'm sure all the scenes of Surfer in space talking to himself helped cut down on the animation budget though lmao
@@SuperSwimTeam7 I disagree. The monologues really help capture the emptiness and vastness of space where you wouldn't have anyone to talk to but yourself. And Surfer being constantly shot down is accurate to the character because in the comics he is very passive unless you really push his buttons.
