George is a walking cultural encyclopedia. He never lectures you, he never talks down to you, he is an amazing storyteller and teacher. He certainly has adapted to the new selling environment. The only way to get a handle on studio stoneware pieces is to research every big and little art show vendor’s records, if they even still exist, and then work backwards through communities. What a Task!
I am so happy reliving this! What a fun experience. I can’t wait to go shop with you and Tiffany again!

My grandfather worked for Oscar Mayer for years and as a child I was able to sit in an actual weenie mobile. He would often bring me weenie whistles 😁

I could spend hours and hours listening and learning from George. He is really the most amazing guy. I’m 65 and I don’t think I have ever met anyone that has the gift of making me want to learn more and more and more.

Hi Danni. I really like your videos. But I have to say...I used to work at Syroco in the early 80's and the items like the bird statues were all made of molded plastic. I used to paint them to make them look antiqued. And I also sprayed a clear coat on them and put the big racks into the ovens to dry. Just a little info. By the way I love your new store.

Those watermelon vases were a special Teleflora vase 15-20 years ago for either Valentine's Day or Mother's Day. They cost us 30.00 each wholesale. I love my watermelon vase. It is one of my favorite vases I own.

Thanks, Danni, for clarify about carnival glass being sold to carnivals for prizes. I always wondered why they called it that.
Yes! Carnival glass aspired to add a Tiffany-like metallic sheen to production pattern glass in the 1900-1920 era, but by the end that style was fading...thus the wholesaling of later production to carnivals began.
Fonso is probably short for Alfonso.
De means "from", so "de Puebla" means from the town/city of Puebla, likely México

When I use to go to the Hillsbough show in the bay area 25 yrs r more ago the dealers had thousands of antique carnival glass some in the high hundreds if not higher. That stuff there was amazing but many dealers died

Hi Sandra and Merry Christmas! I had a thought on those ivory pieces. I think the piece with the jump ring was a pendant and the other was an earring by looking at the holes. The earring has a smaller hole for the wire and the other piece has a bigger hole to accommodate the larger jump ring. I could be wrong. Either way....cool pieces. Fun video. Thank you!
