I once actually saw a public place with that “knockoff” pull station. Oddly, there was also the real thing in another spot.
Meme World The fake one is not even UL Listed
Railroad Elevators OK, but I’m just sayin that it had it.
The knock off is a uk version
@fire alarm 2125 I know that. The place had the knockoff tho. Pretty sure they failed their inspection by now, its been 2 years ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
@@pauljennings375 I think so, but Fire-Lite is an American company
Wow that difference pull station. Good job for explain
If you ask me, even though it's clearly a knockoff, (a somewhat good one at that in terms of copying the design) to me it's quite the unique device. I may buy one myself in the future just to have it. And yes, I DO have an actual BG-12 right now.
Thanks for the information
This I have as my first pull station like I have my first bell which is an off brand 4-inch 12v alarm bell.
as a first pull I would recommend this because firstly it's easy to reset, secondly its very lightweight, and thirdly it's fun to fidget with before you wire it, and lastly it actually has passed fire marshal inspections as it is a real pull station with real branding and it works, reviews on the amazon product say.
I now have it, not too bad for a knockoff honestly. DEFINITELY not explosion proof tho so Im not gonna drop it.
The module is conventional. Works perfect on my British panel
i got my first alarms on eBay witch was a Johnson controls BGX-101L and a EST genesis
I have thar knockoff pull station and a truealert strobe
Great video!
May be getting this soon! I actually kinda like it!
Great Awesome Video. I love it.
The module simply turns on an LED when the pull station is activated. It is not an addressable module.
Thank you for verifying that for me!
@@firealarmgeek0880 u also have to remove it if you aren't using a fire panel because it has a resistor that makes the resistance too high to make a fire alarm work normally
How lovely 😊
My first pull station was the break glass alarm
My first pole station was an Edwards coded pull station
I do still remember getting one of these BG-12s knockoffs as well as my first fire alarm for Christmas back in 2017 but the one I have lights up red on the inside of it tough when activated
same, mine has the LED inside and it is sometimes a little tricky to pull
My first pull station is a simplex 4251-20 generation 1.
I think fire alarm collecting would be a cool hobby for me. I like wiring. I like pushing buttons. I like screwing with stuff. How can I maybe start collecting? Also, BG-12s look so easy to reset quickly!
The Uphoppe HC 102. That is My first Pullstation look just like it. I bought it for $20 from Amazon.
There were a bunch of those on brand fireworks at the thrift store new for $10. Im getting all 4 they have there if they are still there and giving them to coworkers. (I'm not gonna be using these for normal use lol).
I have the same one
My first pull station was a BG-12
Although its a knockoff bg12, I think its a good First Pull Station because im getting it
Hahahaha what a coincidence the knockoff was almost my first alarm because my mom had a price limit but I showed it to her and told her and said that it was not what I wanted and she raised the price limit from $60.00 to $80.00 it was 60 because I had to get a notification appliance pull station and wire because I have a mini system with no panel
The fake BG-12L was my first fire alarm too
Omg same
Same
You forgot one small detail that I noticed
The bottom flag of the knock off BG 12 is filled but the Firelite BG 12 has a small gap
I have the fake one because it’s my first one and when I wire it to my alarm when I pull the station the alarm makes a strange sound and flashes really fast but when I only attach the alarm to a battery it makes the normal sound and flashes normally you are expert so please can somebody help me now please
I have one of those fake ones and I wired it the same way you have it
As my first pull stations i got a siemens MSI-10B and a fire-lite BG-10
That was my first pull station
Same sasly
Same
My first pull station is a real BG-12S
does it have in the Philippines?
*WHEN THE IMPOSTER IS SUS **0:18*
The knock off was my first pull.
i got that 20 dollor pull station its not that bad i like it
is it made by uhppote?
they also made a knockoff of the spectralert classic
So my question is this. What is it in fire alarms that you find so interesting? I mean you could say to me "Why do you like airplanes?". This is not supposed to be a putdown. I am genuinely interested as to why these alarms have captivated many people! Look, I'm even captivated by them! Idk why! For me its the electronics, and functions of these pull stations, and my overall interest in the marvel that is electricity!
I'm not really sure! For me, i really like the wiring and controls of the systems. I like the feeling that one small thing on one side of a building can make something massive happen on the other. I love wiring things and working with my hands, so I've enjoyed myself thus far!
It's also good to learn something too, fire alarm technicians make a really good decent salary..
@@FireAlarmsandSuchI really like the fire house on the fake bg 12 the real one should add that
I bought the knock off but I had to replace a part on my notifier BG 12 lx
Ironically i got a BG-12LX on amazon as my first BG-12.
The branding on the Fake Fire-Lite BG12 Should Say:
Fake-Lite by Noneywell
I like it!
I think u can change the lock on the fake pull station
Was that EST Genisus rare?
I have the generic one
The manual on the knock off one is not right.
1: it says the activated flag is yellow but it's not.
2: it said on the warranty section: “we warrant it's enclosed ‘smoke detector’”. It's not a smoke detector. Are they blind?
I know this because I have the pull.
Manual for mine said the same thing lol
The est gensiss sounds loud
The knockoff is actually a call point I think
A call point is the boxy type that you press in to activate
pull stations on the other hand you pull down.
big difference
The box on mine said Manuel call point, I'm guessing cause it's from the UK. Ik it's definitely a pull station tho
I have a knockoff
NICE :)

its not a knock off its just different, but know u own a kncok off...
I call that the bootleg BG12!
the fire alarm is sus
wait that knock of is oh no D:
God damn that knock off ):
Lol the fake bg12l messes with my P2RL it makes it quieter
Lol, I bought the knockoff
Basic_Bobo. Same ..oopsie
Am I the only one that calls it a BootleG-12L?
I call it a Phonywell Fake-Lite bee gee towelvv ell "exx"
That isn’t a fire alarm pull station that’s a call point
No it is a pull station
Why did this company make a fake bg 12 like if they really wanted a bg 12 like there not that much just buy some
Because they wanted to sell the fake version for money
Upphote should be sued for ripping-off the Fire.lite BG-12!
It's a Chinese company, if will never happen
@@seanjuth no it is a British company, I can confirm as someone also said it is compatible with conventional British panels. Chinese fire alarm panels are a whole lot different.
@@BukuiZhao it's not British. Anything will work with any conventional panel.
@@seanjuth But I heard claims that these were British knock off
@@BukuiZhao if these were British knockoffs then they wouldn't be around because Britain has the same copyright laws as America does. They would have already been sued and out of business
I have a real BG-12 and this fake one
The american bg12 is better
the knock off is a British made one
@@BukuiZhaoit’s not. It’s a Chinese made one pull stations like in many other countries are not allowed to be used because they are outdated. This wouldn’t be allowed to be installed in the UK wouldn’t meet British standards
@@ryanhelton1865 Obviously it does not meet British standards, I never said it did. You obviously would not see this in buildings given it fails many other standards like UL
