    Yes, yes and yes to all of this! I worked with my son during covid school closures. He has ADHD and autism and was not reading or writing (gr 1-2). I struggled along the way and wish I had seen your content sooner. Thankfully my passion to see him grow and having worked as a teachers aid for many years, we figured it out together. Him through showing me his tolerance and frustrations and how much give and take I could have with lessons, his attention and focus etc. I am still to this day his secretary at times because writing a story or a large paragraph can be so hard when he still struggles to spell and write (my hand hurts!!!!) and I can capture all of his ideas for him and he is learning to write or type them and stretch them into bigger sentences and edit the paragraphs (gr 5).

      Wow thank you for sharing your perspective and you sound like an amazing mom figuring it all out on your own - even though it was a struggle at first. I’m so so happy that you resonate with my video. Thank you for sharing! Let me know if there’s ever anything I can do to help.

    The color coordination in your recent TH-cam thumbnails has not gone unnoticed.
    Oh, I’m sorry, is my 25 years of being a professional graphic designer showing? :)

      Haha thank you!!! That means so much that you noticed. Color is super important for us. 🥰

      @@allthewritecolors Exactly. Color is wicked important. Which is why I have colored smartbulbs not only in my little TH-cam studio but also all over my house. I can make them any color I want. It’s wonderful.
      And I color coordinate my TH-cam thumbnails with the background lighting color in the video… but no one seems to make the connection. Woe is me. Lol.

    Thank you so much. I run a learning centre as well. I’m glad I came accross your video because it’s going to help me with one of my new students who had ADHD!
    Please can you recommend a way to teach a 9 year old student with ADHD that struggles with writing and maths
    Many thanks 😊

      I’m glad you enjoy the video!! I would keep math very hands on, and money focused or whatever interest they have….teach math using that topic. For writing, I would have them talk out the story and you scribe, for now. And have the write a book on a topic or character they would love. Don’t make them write about a topic you come up with, it can shut the motivation down.

    Would you be able to create a video about how to help kiddos with ADHD that struggle with task overwhelm (multiple steps to a project) in a classroom setting verus 1:1 instruction?

    • @allthewritecolors
      @allthewritecolors  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Omg yes! I can. I help several kids with that bc they get so overwhelmed, they often don’t finish the assignment. That’s a great suggestion. Thank you!
