The spirits were real douchebags. They had mental disorders and wanted help when they were alive but since no one helped them (not even the nurses) they torture anyone who goes in the hospital and kills them.
Someone in Grave Encounters 3 should find a way to shut the portal that Dr. Friedkin opened and have the church get rid of the evil spirits.
Not going to lie, I watched these movies back to back YEARS AGO, and that elevator scene still terrifies me. I mean imagine the type of hopeless dread you'd feel.

So you’d go through that door walk down hearing the pipes and echos, open the next door to find that you are back in the tunnels then you’d scramble back up the stairs opening the door to the the exact same place in the tunnels. Ah crap it’s 11:30pm and I just scared myself dammit.

What I think is happening to Lance in the portal is like what was happening to him and the girl in the tunnel. He's going to continue falling, thinking he's going to end up somewhere, anywhere, only for it to never happen. It's basically the equivalent to limbo and he's either going to get used to it or he'll never figure it out and continue to think that he's going to end up somewhere, and he's stuck here until the day he dies. That was my theory. Thank you and that'll be all.

Would like to know what would happen if someone sat outside and occasionally opened the doors to check in. Would the doors be stuck shut? Would they not see anyone inside? Does the front outside of the hospital also count as haunted property and could someone sitting outside the front door still be sucked into their traps? Or what if someone chained the doors open? Would they shut eventually anyway? Would they see anything? I need to know
Basically what I’ve gathered, there are 2 hospitals. The real one that doesn’t manipulate, and the ghost dimension one that twists and turns. After a period of time or at night, you will be sent to the ghost dimension, and due to warping you won’t notice. The ghosts have more power in the ghost dimension, that’s why crazier jump scares happen after they find out they are trapped
While the special effects never did anything for me, the scene in the elevator opening into the tunnels has never been forgotten by me lol so unsettling

One problem also is when that multi-million producer would decide to make a modern and active asylum there. And then it would be another Grave Encounters film.

I actually want to submit a script for a GE3. The opening scene is Lance strapped to a table being pushed by nurses into an operating room. Lances vision fades in and out. A blurred nurse looks over him and says "Your work isn't done here yet" and he wakes back up in the tunnels.
The plot is Alex brings 6 more people to the hospital to kill them, and Lance and a final girl take down Alex and the doctor.
