A Visit From Above! Wild Camping 11k Catch/Cook Brook Trout/Gourmet Firebox Campfire Food NatureASMR

- A wonderful solo backpacking trip into a beautiful remote high country wilderness lake in Utah USA with my two dogs Ash and Juni (Both carry packs for dog food and bedding) as well as my two pack goats Levi and Lucky Bill (Who carry enough gear to allow me to bring camera gear as well as gourmet food ingredients) I fish for and catch three beautiful brook trout. One of which I cook for the first nigh's dinner on my Firebox Stoves two beautiful fillets of brook trout on a bed of lemon garlic linguini garnished with fresh shavings of asiago cheese and chopped fresh parsley. I enjoyed A Firebox Stove campfire before retiring to bed under my ultralight dyneema composite tarp shelter. The next morning I made coffee then was surprised when a low-flying plane dipped even lower dropping some kind of liquid into the lake, I scratched my head wondering what had just happened... Oh well, time for breakfast, I set out to make biscuits and gravy from scratch only to realize I left the biscuits back in the truck so I improvise and bake blueberries muffins in the Firebox Ultra Cook Kit. Tasted surprisingly good and was ready for more fishing and general soaking in the beauty of this primitive natural place. The birds were singing the ravens were putting on a show. The dogs, goats and myself relaxed in the shade unwinding from the stresses caused during this unprecedented time in which we find ourselves enduring. The day was wonderfully long, the evening finally came where I cooked what came to be the best meal of my life! I started by sautéing onions and garlic (In the firebox handle-less frypan then adding mushrooms. setting that a side while I panfried my beautiful ribeye beef steak in butter. I boiled water on the Firebox Nano Stove for garlic mashed potatoes setting up the steamer basket up top the Firebox bush pot for fresh green beans! The meal came together perfectly! Honestly the best meal (Not just camping, ever!) of my life! Spent another night under the tarp shelter enjoying a dark night and bright stars. Woke up made coffee, packed up and made my way towards home feeling ready to continue carefully leading my family through the unfamiliar circumstances of 2020.
Best watched relaxed and ready to let go.
Go back to the nature experience that made you fall in love with the outdoors. Actually, It probably wasn't as much an experience as a feeling. For me, it's a feeling of freedom, a sense of independence, accomplishment. Something about successfully living in the wild with what you have on your back, brings a reassuring confidence, while at the same time feeling small, humbled by the immense power of mother nature. At times thrilling, knowing the risks involved. It's really quite complicated and difficult to put into words.
What does nature immersion make you feel?
How does it change you?
One thing I do know is that afterwards I feel a bit stronger, both body and mind.
Come with us to this remote, un-spoiled wilderness lake where everything around you is alive, thriving in perfect harmony. A pair of ravens caw high above playfully patrolling-literally dancing in the sky, communicating with a sense of humor which conveys intelligence. A multitude of birds, the Steller's Jay, Hermit Thrush and the Three toed woodpeckers that tried to drive us off the mountain. Songbirds continually singing reassurance... Everything's good, everything is as it should be, as it has always been. The timeless power of nature makes you realize your insignificance to all except loved ones--family and friends--that's where life's deepest fulfillment comes from. Being alone in the remote wilderness helps you realize your place in the universe. You can see its vastness shining back at you in perfect silent darkness, making you feel part of it. It all somehow helps you re-gain focus on what really matters and why. Nature can heal your spirit, help you find peace with worries or concerns like, what unintended consequences will arise from past decisions, mistakes or missteps? "Did I make the right life choices?" Being immersed in the purity of nature forces you to "live in the now"--if you don't, it could catch you unaware and unprepared. Which is how people die in the woods. I believe the longer you can stay, the more it can change you. The wilderness changes people in different ways at different times.
Start with the 50 minutes of this video but please subscribe as I'm planning a ten day trip that I hope will yield an extra long, deeply immersive video. I'm hoping to come back a "changed man" with new perspectives and a deeper wisdom of my true self.

So true! Enjoy the good times!
This is what we call real life where you can find simplicity and happiness.
Thank you so much for this video.
ENJOED EVERY BIT OF IT.. I 💘 💘 LOVE THE GREAT-DOOR.
We need people like you, love and respect the animals.👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Thank you for the kind words Ann!
Very different friends with camping I love goats and dogs 🙏
They are a lot of fun, thanks for watching!
I just wanted you to know I used my fire box for the first time with perfection. It worked flawlessly, all of the people were cooking over large fires and it took so long. With my fire box I cooked much faster with no mess after. I would deffinalty recommend a firebox to anyone who fishes, camps or hunts.. must have product!!!!!!
49 mins of incredible scenery and outdoor cooking is truly the most relaxed I’ve been in awhile. Beautiful country to be in for sure. Expertly edited to perfection. This ones going in my save box to be watched over and over. At least until the next Firebox Stove video from Steve. Somehow makes me proud to use my stove.
Thank you so much for all the very kind words Dan!

When adorable dogs and tamed goats are in harmony going on a nature trip by their master. I can't help to smile by myself. I wish someday I will do this thing at some point in my life whether pigs and goats combination or whatever animals out there that are in harmony with each other. Cheers and thanks for sharing your videos. Kudos!

I love the goats!! My daddy is 80 years old he has Parkinson's disease and dementia and I was showing him the goats on this video carrying the packs on their backs and he watch the entire video 2 times he was amazed at the goats and thought that was so neat and he had never seen a fire box before that you were cooking on he loved that he said if I was a young man again I'd have me one of those stoves you could carry that and cook anywhere he said that could be your best friend trout fishing!! He enjoyed watching you cook on that! It sparked some good memories for him he told me a couple of fishing stories of him and my uncle who has done passed of when they were young I had never heard b4 so thank you so much!! I got to talk to my daddy for a little while and it was like nothing was wrong. So keep up The good work and thank you for sharing that glad to see my daddy enjoy something again may God bless you and your family and keep you safe through these bad times! I've been a subscriber for quite a while but now you have a new viewer...I will be showing my daddy every video now! Again thank you so much!!!!!
Wow! That is so nice to hear. That shows how a deep love of nature crosses generations heck, I think everybody loves nature in one way or another, somewhat universal. These days it's pretty nice to find something we all have in common when everything else is is so divided.👍 thanks so much for taking the time to share your experience with me 🙏
Mercy, your story brought tears to my eyes. I know from personal experience the tough road you walk. Any ray of sunshine in a pretty dark storm is a blessing for you. Bless your heart sir!!
David Ullom thank you very much! Keep us in your prayers and may God bless you and yours and keep you safe through these pandemic times!!
Sending ❤️ to you and your dad! Take care of each other
Doug Evans : one other thing. When your cooking. Watch out for ants. As you had them all over by you cooking. And some crawled on you. Use Cayenne pepper and put that around the area of cooking. They hate that. That or put away from you cornmeal. Once they eat that. It kills them as they can’t digest it. Dead 🐜😂👍👍🇺🇸🇺🇸
Bravo j'aime beaucoup vos vidéos surtout avec ces chiens et chèvres 👍👍👍👍
Thank you so much!
So many points to raise. I love the simplicity of catch fish, cook fish, eat fish. Yet you put it together into such a wonderful meal. I love the simplicity yet perhaps it's just that you make it look so simple. I love the way you don't skimp on food, or coffee. I reckon you have the only stove company that has branded goat panniers. That's so awesome. Brilliant. Thank you.
Thanks for all the kind words David!
@@fireboxstove When I was a child my dad made me read a very old fictional book, based on fact about the Pioneers travelling across the US. Particularly in this episode when you crested to look down on the lake, I was taken back to my imagination when reading the book. A bit of a 'hair raised on the back of your neck' moment for me.

I just love your videos with your goats and dogs. They are so well trained and cannot believe they follow the hiking trails and stay right with you. This is the most unique video I have ever seen JUSt LOVE IT. Please make more with all four of them.
Thank you so much, that is greatly appreciated.
Something I worry about with my goats is them getting dehydrated when they are packing. They don’t like bodies of water much so I worry they don’t drink enough from streams and lakes. I have started carrying a goat specific electrolyte powder that is flavored so they enjoy drinking it. My big boy will drink a gallon of water in on go if I add the powder to it. I lost a goat to urinary crystals and keeping them hydrated helps prevent crystals building up.
Good info to have, mine seem to do pretty well so far but I will keep an eye on that for sure. They did great drinking from the lake here and there.
I practice getting them to drink from natural water but I am always paranoid since loosing my boy. The electrolyte powder is more for my peace of mind than anything.
Wholesome comment. Animals are simply saints and deserve all the care we can provide.

Just curious. Do they not swim well or at all?

Lol she does love our trips, when I get the packs out and ready to go she gets very excited. She has such a calm personality but can get feisty when she needs to.
Firebox Stove do you have any idea what breeds of dog she is? Looks like a mix of hound, pitty, or maybe Great Dane. What’s her weight?

I thought it was a feast, then you brought out the green beans. And then the potatoes!
On another note, due to covid my camping plans have had to be scrapped so far this year. So thanks for sharing!
I know, right! That was honestly the best meal of my life 🤔😊 it really was so good those Mashers were garlic-flavored and with all that butter on them not to mention the garlic onions and mushrooms were such a nice accent flavor! Those green beans and the crunch they added to the bite was amazing as well! Honestly! I think that was the best meal of my entire life 👍 even though that steak was well done and I generally like mine medium rare it was barely passed pink and still tender and moist.

Wow! Wonderful video, so peaceful. You did a great job of making and editing. I love pack goats and yours are very pretty. Your cooking was fun to watch, you went all out with your meals. Such nice big fish for a smallish lake. Your video description of your trip was very nice. Thanks for sharing.

how helpful these goats and dogs.. amzing animals .
I only bring the dogs for companionship so they are only carrying their own gear whereas the goats don't really need anything and are my beasts of burden 👍
Goats are full service animals. They survive well without care. They forage for their food, come home at night, give milk in the AM, have babies to expand your herd, and when they get too old to milk or give birth, they give the final last measure and become dinner.
Sounds like a terrible way to pay tribute to a loyal friend who stood by your side 🤔

I just happened upon your channel because I also love nature and really got a kick out of watching your 2 dogs & the 2 goats walking the trail like it was the most natural thing in the world - without being on some sort of leash. I love it. Never seen that before. I was a bit nervous seeing the goats overnight outside, but glad that nothing happened. Lastly, the food you cooked looked absolutely delicious!!
Thank you for the comment, I am glad you found the channel. The goats I have trained since they were tiny and bottle fed them, so I think they think I am part of the herd so they follow well. Thanks for watching!!
Just catching up on your videos. Wow your right hand man there I so smart gets in the back and walks while watching everyone. You have trained him very wisely.
They are great animals, we have fun out there. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Man, this is a masterpiece. I found your channel by accident maybe a year ago and found that your videos are the most relaxing things on TH-cam. Just the nice mix of nature, dogs, your nice voice, and the cooking. This morning I woke for a 4:45 am shift working at a national park after some bad sleep. I was worried about the long drive up to the summit of the volcano, where I work, but I found this video and drank some chocolate and ho boy I was in Pleasantville. Turned out to be the best day of the summer so far, thanks to the positive spin on the day from your video. Thanks for putting these up.
