Asking for the parents’ permission isn’t necessary, but it’s a sign of good manners nowadays. Quite similar as kissing a lady’s hand to greet her, or opening the doors for her 😉
About the movements and expressions of Michał Wójcik that you've liked so much - I don't know if someone has posted it before but he graduated some mime schoool and was performing at mime theatre hence the skills.
You just figured out the secret of Polish cabaret comedy. Usually they figure out which characters are the funniest and put those into every sketch for years
I just watched about 10 of those videos where you react to the Polish kabaret and it feels like you view it as stand up comedy only but these performances are a type of theatre type performances and the comedians are comedy actors. Im sure they went to acting school. It's more of a cross between theatre and stand up comedy
You can laugh a lot at the masterful skit performed by Zofia Merle and Stanisław Tym titled "A woman comes to the doctor" ( „Przychodzi baba do lekarza”)
Cabarets are not rubbish, cabarets are a huuuuge part of Polish culture! 😁BUT!! It depends which ones, obviously (for example the one in this vid), 'cause, in my opinion, only the old skits have a good sense of humour in it, the new ones are way too much about politics and shallow jokes. Sadly even Kabaret Moralnego Niepokoju has gone this route now, but years ago there were one of the funniest, now they're just awkward.
I just want to mention that Polish is not the only language, where from the same wording, you can have two different meanings depending on context. Look at the phrase “getting morning wood” as an example. Of course every young, healthy English person would think “Getting the wood to put in the fireplace in the morning”, right? RIGHT? I think phrases like this appear in every language, and for native speakers it's so normalized, you're not even aware until someone actually points it out.
It's time to check out bible stories but in silesian language xD "Opowieści Biblijne po Śląsku" from Kabaret Młodych Panów. I wonder how the translator would work with this hahah
You should watch cabaret Ani Mru Mru - List od Pipy (if there is a translate). :D They translate english letter from England and later they try to write response. :)
Hi Rob, You already know traditional Polish cabarets, but there are newer, more modern forms emerging. HRejterzy is a Polish-language entertainment channel on TH-cam featuring short film sketches that have surged in popularity in recent years. I recommend 'Szef, tłumacz i inwestor' (guest starring Robert Górski from KMN), 'Dlaczego kawa w biurze jest za darmo?', and 'Kiedy kierownik tłumaczy grafikowi jak wykonać zadanie'.
I really appreciate that an Englishman is trying to understand and feel Polish humour and culture. What if you tried to watch Polish rock music by and old band Dżem (whose original leader and vocalist Ryszard Riedel was 'a king' on the stage, but had lots of troubles with alcohol and drugs, and died in 1994). Here is a live concert from 1993 - th-cam.com/video/77D6LZjleXw/w-d-xo.html , the lyrics can be found on Google website. And here is another version by Metallica trying to sing the song in Polish, in 2018 - th-cam.com/video/MQoW9xifQi0/w-d-xo.html
Some things are literally impossible to translate to another language if one doesn't understand the nuances of the original language, and the cultural references, so you can't grasp the whole thing, Rob. In order to properly intepret the jokes into English, one would also need to understand the slangs and cultural nuances of the specific English dialect, too. And that's a whole different ballgame! And another thing. I saw a shorter, more dynamic version of this sketch. They do evolve, you know, get better in time.
Hey Rob. Have you heard Polish cabarets with women? Kabaret Nowaki, Kabaret Czesław, Kabaret K2, where women shine not only with their beauty, but also with their cabaret skills.
A teraz protest song "Fajnie" w wykonaniu mojego ulubionego piosenkarza Macieja Maleńczuka.- ciekawi mnie Twoja opinia na temat tego utworu i wykonania. Pozdrawiam th-cam.com/video/41V6-g1pcDQ/w-d-xo.html

Rob, see the video from AMM 'List do Pipy' - The letter to Pipa, reference to Pipa Middleton I guess. 'Pipa' is also used in Poland as a female genital organ.
You should also react to the skit of Kabaret Skeczów Męczących titled "Strajk" because it takes place in England 😂
Sporo jest skeczy które fajnie by było obejrzeć ale nie na wszystkich są tłumaczenia
"You stupid woman" - Rene in Allo Allo 😂
Michał Wójcik, the expressive one, is an educated, professional mime, while Marcin worked as PE teacher.
I enjoy that you watch it. It's wonderful sketch!
Tłumacz, tłumacz ! - wspaniała robota dzięki
Thanks. Funny as always 🙌

Pure entertainment. So unexpected you do not have such groups in UK.
Pokażcie mu kabaret Starszych Panów, niech chłopak wie, że kiedyś w Polsce panowały wyższe standardy kulturowe.
Oglądał stare kabarety. Sentyment mamy do nich my. On nie ma. Pozdrawiam 🙂

You HAVE TO watch Maciej i smok ❤
I did ask my wife's parents for permission to marry her, but I was adviced to do that way.

I don't think that's only Polish comedy

Your translators should translate for you Hrabi cabaret, they are the best.
not they are not, they are booring.

Marcin Wójcik (blonde) was physical education teacher (4 years) just like you.
2:00 Onslow from _Keeping Up Appearances_
On this sketch, in red suit is Michael, and "father" is Martin (Marcin). Both of them have the same surnames (Wójcik) but they are not a family.
I like the skit "The King and the Villager" by the "Ani Mru Mru" cabaret.
You should see also from them "List do Pipy" ( Letter for Pipa).

Hi Rob, what do you think about the cockney?
Polecam skecz Kabaretu Moralnego Niepokoju pod tytułem "Adopcja królika" 🙂

You need to see "Ojciec wojskowy" (Military Father) by Kabaret młodych panów. And "Merlin i Bożenka" by Kabater Smile
Hey, Rob! Can you please react to "Próba stypy"? It's from Kabaret Skeczów Męczących. You'll love it!

Try Kabaret "Mumio", "Senior Eugenio, Inkasent gazowy"
Hopefully your mate can translate it for you
Hey, Rob, did you see the "Wołyń" movie yet?
Rob dawno nie robiłeś reakcji na polską muzykę, może coś klasycznego z lat 90’? 😊 Pozdrawiam 👋
Jedwab
Michał and Marcin
Michael and Martin 😊
You should watch "Świat według Kiepskich"
I dare say that for foreigners to understand the entire skit, they must understand Polish language.
I'd like to challenge myself with translating a Polish skit. but I have no idea how? how do I submit this?
If you send me a message on Instagram I can explain how

Michał Wójcik (the one standing) is a mime.
You should try Magda Kubicka, she's quite twisted and I think better than AMM
❤❤❤
Hello, I know a certain cabaret that will make your diaphragm very exercised: Kabaret Moralnego Niepokoju- Tata ze wsi
Well, they are related, those two are brothers
Your fake forced smile is priceless
I wish it was fake. I'm not one till say something is good if it's rubbish

Trochę poważniej : th-cam.com/video/jtI-ONcpu_k/w-d-xo.htmlsi=k52pk8txrPrX1qyt
I think you should watch something from " Kabaret skeczów męczących" I think you would like it
Możesz zmienić kobietę, ale to nic nie zmieni 😉
IT is outdated because this kabaret has over 10/15 years.
Co za dno!
