lucky bastards, I used to do this with an old line borer, took at least 6 hours to close caps, dial in and machine. I'd like to think my machining was better than this fandangled cnc but i know it likely isn't. probably perfect alignment and sizing right ?
He indicated the first and last bores before starting which would be enough to establish the linear bore. It looks like the engine was well maintained so it's needing a heavy pass on all the mains to establish a round surface again.
That wasn't the "complete" process. They skipped through the full block alignment procedure. When he secured the block on the one end, it surely changed on the other side.

Never saw him check sizing with a dial bore gauge? How straight and round are the bores? How close to size can these bores be?
