After suffering a blood clot to the brain, 55-year-old Peter is visited by Nelly the therapy dog at the Stroke Unit in Aberystwyth. An owner of six basset hounds, this is an emotional encounter between a stroke patient and a man’s best friend.

When I was at my lowest point with depression, there was a moment when I was walking up my street, (which didn't happen often; I had to go somewhere and was already feeling anxious) and I had a person pass me walking a dog. I always say hi to dogs. But this one turned around and gave me a LOOK. of concern. It clearly said, "U ok? U not ok!" and whined and pulled to get back to me. I burst into tears. It had gotten so that dogs noticed. Not long after I talked to my PCP and went on antidepressants.
