Yeah, I never understand Yan. He is a small, short guy, and very sturdy guy. But as most people noted, he has very good Judo and wrestling. I don't understand why he didn't develop those assets more.
His striking is elite; but he just doesn't have the one-punch KO power or super fast speed or agility of most elite strikers. If he had also developed & leveraged his very sturdiness, very elite judo throws, and wrestling and BJJ, too, he would be very hard to deal with... exactly like Alex Volcanovsky...
The fact that Islam --- from 155, fighting at his own division --- won by the skin of his teeth against Alex, who is 5'6".... and Islam is close to 6ft tall and is arguably the most elite wrestler who is currently champ at the UFC... never able to put Alex in any real danger.... says tons about Alex's multi-faceted skills, his strength, and his fighting IQ...

@@themadman6667 my logic behind this is he did good against Yan showing he’s legit, I think with everyone expecting another Sandhagen fight for Sterling it just wont happen. Sean in studying Aljo has seen that fight many times and has been preparing for the back takes of Sterling and will learn from those mistakes of Cory, he wont give him that easy first min sub. I think Sean’s gonna be really prepared with his defensive wrestling and something tells me his defensive BJJ on the ground will be deceptively good. So even if/when Sterling takes his back I don’t think Sean gets subbed right away, he’ll fight the hands really well. Yea he got taken down by Yan 6 times but Yan is a striker and I’m sure he wasn’t expecting that approach as much as he will be from Sterling. I see O’Malley making Sterling work for everything as far as takedowns and submissions.

Its crazy how Sean and Colby as challengers think they can push the champs in another fight in 2/3 months.. adding shit as 'he has no choice'. Lmao wtf.
Yeah but let them talk that shit, because at the end of the day I can guartuneee you aljo will be fighting Sean exactly when he said he would and when he’s good and ready, just like Leon will be fighting Colby exactly when he’s ready and damn well pleases. The ufc for sure does have some leverage even over their champions and clearly with Sean and Colby the ufc has a desired outcome and ofc will try and use the leverage they have as promoter to ofc benefit the guys they want, but the champions as well here still have power. The ufc isn’t gonna strip Leon or aljo, even if either decide or medically can’t compete as fast as they want, and at most the ufc will simply to punish the champs make an interim belt and in both cases here that actually hurts Sean and Colby entirely more then the undisputed defending champs taking a little longer then they feel like they can dictate because Sean himself should want absolutely zero part in a interim fight because he either has to fight Merab who literally crucifies him, or sandhagen who sure is a winnable fight but an insane risk and either way it goes whether winning or not they still at the end of the day will have to fight the undisputed champ so they both keep acting like they have all the power here when really both of them even with the help and backing od the ufc as guys they want to win are essentially powerless over the actual reigning undisputed champions here lol.

I think Sean and his team are gonna take a good look at the Marlon Moraes vs Aljo fight and take from there. That was the last time Aljo lost and it was a stiff KO from a knee, so Sean is gonna be constantly drilling knees for when Aljo shoots in. I mean, that’s one effective way of dealing with wrestlers. So Aljo is gonna have to time the takedowns well and mix them in unpredictably, cause Sean is screwed if he can’t land that knee or it’s not that effective. Sean still does have good movement and footwork though and another way of dealing with a wrestler Is to constantly keep moving laterally. So with that being said I think Aljo is gonna sub Sean lol.

Great channel. Yes, I want Suga to win and I’m not even a fan of his. I just hate Aljo that much. You are his fan. You able to address the following facts I will list? I hope so.
I’m not saying aljo lost. He won by split decision. I’m simply stating why people don’t like aljo. So just understand that. Aljo won by split decision. It went to the judges and they gave it to him. Aljo is the champ. His grappling is the best in his weight class. His striking is the worst. Simple. His style is boring.
In my opinion, cejudo won. But that’s irrelevant to my entire post. Not here to argue about who won.
The following are facts and you can’t argue against them. But if you like, you can address them.
1) aljo has huge size and reach advantage.
Cejudo had to charge in to close distance and aljo couldn’t drop him one time. 2) aljo abuses that knee to the mat. Nobody has perfected that the way he has. Disgusting champ. 3) you know you on your knees way too much when your corner tells you, “I don’t want you on all fours anymore” 4) you know it’s bad when current and former ufc fighters, including former champs, had cejudo 3-2. 5) you know it’s real bad when the same crowd that cheered you on since you from New York and are fighting in Jersey boos you when decision is announce. A lot of fans thought cejudo won that 3-2. 6) aljo stated to Cejudo that all he cares about is putting on a good show for the fans. Aljo yelled to cejudo, “let’s do it” and pointed at the middle of the octagon like he is max Holloway and then ran away like the bitch that he is.
